Application

Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.

-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:

1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.

If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.

-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.

-You may only have one application in queue at a time. If you would like to submit a second app, you must wait until your first has been processed.

Application Template:
Looked over the community? Brushed up on all 31,561,021 Confuto Ordinatio rules and regulations? Filled out all your forms in triplicate? Looks like you're ready to get that Gate Key! Just fill out the following form and submit it to the Executive Subcommittee of Other-Planar Affairs! That Gate Key should be yours in 5-7 business days!

The following is an alternate form that can be used in place of a musebox sample post. It takes the form of an application and interview as if the character were applying for a job. Respond to the questions in-character, if you or your character doesn't know what they're asking for indicate it in some way. The character can lie if doing so is in character, but indicate they are doing it by writing "[LIE]" before the answer to the question.

Player Name: Prof
Character Name: Max Cross
Canon: Ragnarok Online (OC)

Background:
Max's childhood was unremarkable, growing up as the son of a blacksmith in Geffen. He wanted to be an adventurer from an early age, which is hardly uncommon in most of Rune-Midgard. At the age of 14, he began his career as a Novice, undecided on which guild to join, but vaguely leaning towards Merchant, like his father.

However, Max's life changed dramatically when he stumbled across a young Merchant, who had just been driven out of the guild after crossing a corrupt official in the upper ranks. Shocked at the presence of this corruption, Max delayed his job change, researching all of the initial guilds. Sure enough, as any sufficiently cynical person may have predicted, corruption was present in all of them. Where other people may have either stuck with it anyway, or tried to change the guilds from within, Max had a different plan.

Max didn't join a guild. He shunned all of them, choosing to remain a novice. He set to creating a fighting style unique to himself, borrowing little from any one guild, and swearing never to join a guild, until he could achieve the title of Super Novice. Then, and only then, would he create a guild of his own, to run by his own ideals.

Time has passed, and Max remained a Novice, but Rune-Midgard is no closer to recognizing his dream...

Portal Location: Random closet in Geffen.

[identity profile] forevernovice.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Max is a person who does not do things by halves. When he gets an idea in his head, the idea tends to stay there, getting stronger and more intense the longer it lingers there. He almost never second-guesses his choices, picking a course of action and sticking to it through hell or high water.

In addition to being stubbornly determined, Max is very optimistic, both in the small and large picture of things. When he does something, he goes into it with full confidence that he has what it takes to get the job done. Also, this extends to humanity as a whole. Max firmly believes that humans are generally good. This combines with his aforementioned stubbornness - all the corruption he discovered didn't do a thing to stop him from believing that mankind wasn't evil. Accordingly, he's always prepared to give someone a second chance, because he bets on the good in each person's heart. This can lead to him getting stabbed in the back, but that doesn't stop him, either.

Max thinks about things by principle. If something has vague, nebulous ramifications in the long term for the world as a whole, then he'll pay much more attention to those than to the immediate results. The biggest example of this was his decision not to join any of the guilds. Realistically, it would have been much easier for him to just join a guild, and he'd even be able to try and help straighten them out from the inside. However, Max had become opposed to the guilds on principle, so he couldn't allow himself to join them, instead taking the much harder path of a Novice.

In the worst case, Max's earnest determination and focus on the Greater Good can make him almost too focused. He can lose sight of the short term due to his focus on the long term. Also, he can forget about the fact that he's not THAT good at most things. As a result, he tends to lose a lot. However, his skills have a tendency to improve when there's a lot riding on him - he works very well under pressure. Thus, when it's really down to the wire, Max's best performance can be seen.

Reason for Joining: Better and more interesting training than fighting monsters outside Geffen.

1/2, Haruki Suzumiya | The Genderbending of Haruhi Suzumiya

[identity profile] fanfiction-god.livejournal.com 2010-04-27 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Elliott, [livejournal.com profile] l_the_fangirl
Character Name: Haruki Suzumiya
Canon: The Genderbend of Haruki Suzumiya

Background: An SOS-dan article on it. (http://wiki.sos-dan.com/wiki/The_Genderbending_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya)

Setting Information: The lovely [livejournal.com profile] kyonko_narrates already gave you the scoop. It's a world much like our own, with a Japan much like our own... if a bored, male otaku/god's fantasies and simmering frustrations didn't occasionally shoot it to Hell. Or Evangelion. Or, very occasionally, The God-Damn Ace Attorney verse. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_7s3_VDdfk)

Portal Location: He absentmindely wandered in from a comic book store that is only there when he gets very, very bored.

Personality: Haruki is selfish. How incredibly true a statement this is cannot be overstated. He is a selfish brat who's tantrums threaten his universe, who, consciously or not, locked the world into stasis because he was lonely - or would have if it weren't for the entire fandom SOS Brigade getting sick of hearing the words "Kyonko-san, denwa~!" He's a brat who knows he'll always get his way, and that half of the time everyone around him will enjoy it, so get it over with already and put on the damn maid costume, Asa-kun.

And yet...

And yet he's imaginative, with flights of fancy that are beautiful to behold (from a distance); protective of and fiercely loyal to the SOS-dan, genuinely acts out of a sense of good fun and out of ignorance of what the others think, rather than malice. He considers them his friends. He's probably right, and his powers probably only got people who would work well together TO do so. Even if it was a wish for aliens, psychics, time travellers and magi that got them together.

Still, probably best to keep him unaware of his full power. The last thing you need is for him to become a Bliss Stage fan or something hideous like that and consciously recreate that world.

Reason for Joining: He was bored. And this place is totally awesome.

Position Desired: Agent. He doesn't have any powers, nope, don't know what you're talking about.

Point in Canon: After the first reset, but before the subsequent ones.

Notes: In Confuto Ordinario and low-power worlds, his powers manifest as, how do I put it, "dumb f*cking luck." In high-power worlds, his powers manifest as they would for a native power-user.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Thank you, sir! I'll get right to work!

1/3 | Lucifer | God, the Devil and Bob

[identity profile] fancy-evil.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Eddie
Character Name: Lucifer
Canon: God, the Devil and Bob

Background: Lucifer was once God's favorite angels, until he got tired of trying to live up to his father's goodness (and in his own words, he 'really liked evil'). After rebelling against him and trying to take over he was casted out of Heaven and, with God's permission to act as an opposing force for humanity, he was named lord of Hell. He became very good at his job mostly because he enjoyed it: among other things he was the one to tempt Eve, invented easy opening packs, committees and is responsible for the amount of sex and violence on TV.

One day, God announced that he had gotten tired of humanity and was considering starting over but wanted to give mortals a last chance. Lucifer accused him of never doing anything about humans and they made an agreement, God would judge humanity based on a single person and Lucifer would get to chose who. He picked Bob Alman, a drunk factory worker whose first reaction upon being told he was now a prophet was to praise the quality of the beer he was drinking. Soon Lucifer realized that he only had to concentrate of Bob since damning his soul would get him the whole world's. After Lucifer tried to seduce Bob's daughter in the disguise of a teenager and his wife by kidnapping Bob, God had to declare his family off-limit's.

Bob's missions went from the almost impossible (get less sex on TV) to the simplest (get people to have a happier day). In the end, Bob realized that all God wanted from humanity was to try and Lucifer decided to take a break.

Setting Information: Lucifer's Earth has three layers: Heaven, Earth and Hell.

Heaven is depicted as a huge resort consisting of a ballroom, an office and several houses. Things are heavily bureaucratized and the transfer or removal of souls is a long, repetitive process of filling forms. Upon their arrival, souls are received by St. Peter at the outer gates and have their life record checked, those allowed to enter are given a name tag. Outsides are allowed to visit if they have a visitor's pass. Time doesn't pass here in relation to Earth.

Earth is planet Earth, year two thousand. Supernatural entities are invisible to humans, with the exception of those innocent enough, like children and the mentally ill, who can see holy beings.

Hell's access takes the form of an elevator that leads directly into Lucifer's office, with a button for each respective level. The place is run by damned souls and demons not unlike a company. It has nine circles, all of which are shaped like the inside of a volcano. Visitors are allowed in without any kind of permission mostly because of the lack of a staff than grants them. Unlike Heaven, time in Hell passes as the same rate as on Earth.

Portal Location: Hell's elevator

2/3 | Lucifer | God, the Devil and Bob

[identity profile] fancy-evil.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Lucifer likes to play the victim in order to gain people's sympathy. In reality, he is as much of a smooth talking liar as others think he is, actively encourages all kinds of evil and while he spends a good deal of his time plotting against the world's moral integrity he's more oriented to corrupting people than causing actual destruction. He is used to a certain amount of mindless sucking up from his assistant regarding this plans so he expects everyone to recognize his genius.

Despite being the personification of everything bad, he is very needy, childish, has a codependent relationship with God and goodness that neither of them will admit and still seeks his approval after his fall. He however acknowledges that without freedom of choice his job is pointless (going as far as trying to replace God when he was on vacation). He is a incredibly dramatic as well, throwing tantrums when things don't go his way and blowing things out of proportion and resorting to physical violence to express any and all feelings towards his subordinates. Women in particular have the ability to push him around, when faced with one whose will is stronger than his he's lost as what do to.

Lucifer considers himself a player. Not because he likes relationships, or even men or women by the matter, what he likes is the act of tempting. Making other people do his will is a thing he enjoys and if it often comes as seducing—he isn't going to turn down someone's advances.

Reason for Joining: After having his plans ruined yet again, he decided he wanted to do something that did not involve God nor Bob. Watching trouble occur in other worlds is his kind of fun, even if he does have to fix it.

Where MAKING THIS HAPEN

[identity profile] havefunwiththem.livejournal.com 2010-05-01 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Prof
Character Name: Haruhi Suzumiya
Canon: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Background:
http://haruhi.wikia.com/wiki/Haruhi_Suzumiya

Portal Location: Same as Kyon's portal.

Personality:
Haruhi's got spunk. Her personality is enormous and overbearing, and she instantly takes command of any conversation she joins. She is also extraordinarily self-centered, making it very hard to follow her train of thought. She frequently outright ignores what other people are saying, in interest of continuing what really counts - conveying what SHE's thinking. This can lead to one of Haruhi's most prominent traits: Assholery. Because of her enormously self-centered attitude, Haruhi has a tendency to overrule everyone else's opinions. All that matters to her is that she has fun, and the thought of "but that means other people won't have fun" doesn't even occur to her. She is, accordingly, quite cruel, and uses other people for her own enjoyment, not even stopping to think if it's wrong or not.

Deep, deep inside, though, Haruhi has a more complex side. At an early age, due to a run-in with a 50,000 person stadium, Haruhi became acutely aware of the intense vastness of the world, and accordingly her small of a portion of it she was. This actually left Haruhi with a huge inferiority complex - she talks huge because she feels small. Her life is a constant search for validation. This is the reason behind her search for the extraordinary: The notion that this, a world filled with billions of copies of what she's already experiencing, is so depressing that she'll do anything to avoid it. She's also very insecure and self-conscious, on account of needing to feel like she's special, the alternative being dissolving into the masses.

Haruhi's hyper-awareness of the hugeness of the world factors strongly into how she relates to people. She loudly proclaims that she has no interest in other humans, and her actions seem to reflect this, changing in rooms full of people and the like. They're all just more parts of the horde. However, at the same time, people are actually quite important to her. She builds her life around a small, tight social circle, canonically the SOS Brigade. When she's in a good mood, she gets along with others very easily, jumping straight past getting to know each other and directlyinto acting like old friends, whether they like it or not.

Haruhi is extremely proactive in her lifestyle. She goes out of her way to find happiness, being dead convinced that it won't come to those who wait. She is very open-minded to an extent, trying anything once. However, she's also just as quick to dismiss something if disappointed. This is why she joined every club on campus for one day each, and never turns a boy down if they ask her out, but always dumps them within the month. She doesn't want to miss any opportunities, but she doesn't want any one opportunity to keep her away from others.

Reason for Joining: Because this is the COOLEST THING EVER holy crap.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: After the events of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Saber App 1/??

[identity profile] neon-moment.livejournal.com 2010-05-01 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Nemo
Character Name: Saber (Arturia Pendragon)
Canon: Fate/Stay Night (Realta Nua/Anime)

Background:
During her lifetime Saber was known as King Arthur, the wielder of the Holy Sword Excalibur. Daughter of Uther Pendragon, the young Arturia (as was her given name) was sent with Merlin to be raised in the house of her father’s friend Sir Ector. Raised as a boy, she learned all her skills in Ector’s house before the death of her father when she was 15.

Left without a king, the land of Britain fell in to war and chaos. The only ray of hope was the sword Caliburn. Left in a stone, it was the symbol of the next king, for whoever could remove it would prove themselves to be worthy of uniting the country. The young Arturia was the one to rise to this test. With a stern heart and resolve, the young girl removed her father’s sword to claim her throne and begin her rule as King Arthur.

During her reign, she did not age nor become wounded. The powers granted to her by her sword Excalibur and its sheath Avalon made it impossible for her to fall in battle. For almost a hundred years she kept the lands of her people safe, though her way of the king was a cold and stoic one. By distancing herself and putting her own needs after those of her people, Arturia believed she could rule justly. But her tendency to favor the logical and efficient way of attaining her objective and her seemingly emotionless nature eventually began to instill fear and doubt in the minds of her people. In an act of betrayal, the girl-king was slain in a fight to kill Mordred, a monster created from her own blood, after her scabbard of immortality was stolen.

Full of regret and sadness from her failures, the girl wishes with all the strength left in her to attain the power to change the past and erase her existence from history. So that another can rule in her stead and prevent the fall of her kingdom. Just before the moment of her death, her soul is transformed in a being known as a ‘Servant.’ Gaining the class title ‘Saber,’ she is summoned for the purpose of securing the means of her wish: the Holy Grail.

During the Holy Grail wars, seven Magus summon seven heroic spirits to become Servants. In an all out match, they must fight to attain the Grail to grant their wish. In the 4th grail war, Saber is summoned by a man named Emiya Kiritsugu. During the war, however, he assigns the Knight as his wife’s body guard.
In the final fight for the Grail, Saber is pitted against the Golden Servant Archer. His power far outmatches that of any of her other opponents and she is unable to end the fight in her favor. Though before a winner could truly be decided, her master subverted her will with his command seal with the purpose of destroying the grail; the object of her desire. With a heart full of rage and betrayal, the Knight-King strikes the Grail with her sword, but is unable to completely destroy it. Archer is caught up in the chaos and is bathed in the dark mud of the Grail, allowing him to remain in Fuyuki for 10 years awaiting the next war and the return of his new found treasure: Saber.

10 years later and the 5th Grail war is about to begin. Kiritsugu’s adoptive son, Shiro, finds himself to be the new, accidental master of the Servant called Saber. He is a very different person than his father, and Saber often chides him for being childish and reckless. She becomes frustrated the more he tries to treat her like a human and challenges her wish. It is often with a cold and serious tone that she addresses her master, and she takes to acting on her own when it becomes obvious that his goals and hers to not coincide.

Saber App 2/??

[identity profile] neon-moment.livejournal.com 2010-05-01 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Shiro’s lack of any significant magical energy is a big problem for Saber. Normally, a master can heal and replenish their servant by simply giving them some mana, but Shiro is not trained, or capable of doing such a thing. Because of this, Saber is extremely limited in her abilities and suffers greater damage from their encounters. As time passes, she becomes so weakened that she cannot even walk on her own, and an alternate means of mana transportation is required okay, you guys ALL KNOW what kind of game FSN is…. After this, she begins to warm up to her headstrong master a little more, though he still hinders her from time to time.

By the time she faces Archer again Saber has already defeated three of the seven servants. Still baffled by his seemingly endless supply of Noble Phantasms, she is unable to ascertain his true identity. But his haughty, arrogant nature has not changed in the past 10 years and in fact has grown worse with the near insanity granted to him by the Grail. Still boasting that she is his treasure, he quickly finishes of the Servant Caster for daring to try and take his Knight-Prize. Clearly this Golden Servant is her new challenge.

Slowly, Saber begins to understand and accept that she lived her life to the best of her ability. The true nature of the Grail, after all, is not to grant a mere wish but the evils of the entire world. Such a thing no longer appeals to the King of Knights and she rejects it completely, resolving to instead destroy it. It is also at this point that Archer’s true identity is revealed to be the King of Heroes: Gilgamesh. After letting Shiro and Saber escape, Gil quickly turns on the Servant Lancer (whom he was supposedly aligned with) to bring the Grail closer to physical form.

Changing her resolve drastically alters Saber’s personality as she has fallen in love with her master. She begins to act a little warmer and much less like the stoic Knight-King that she is. But she is still effective in battle, and the final show down with Gilgamesh is truly a match of epic proportions. With a stroke of fate, Saber is able to use the power of Avalon, the ultimate defense, to crush the overly confident King of Heroes. In the moment of his death, he seems to regain some of his sanity to admit defeat and relinquish his claim on her. At least that is how it appears.

Before she could again join up with her master, Saber accidentally stumbles unexpectedly in to a new bit of chaos.

Portal Location:
Ryudo Temple, the site of the 5th Grail summoning and final battle

Personality:
Saber is really very kind, but she has chosen a path of Stoicism and coldness. She believes it to be the selflessness required of a King, but instead it distanced her from her people, and the ones that valued her the most. She is also focused on her goals, and acts in accordance with the most effective means to achieve them, regardless of whether it puts her in physical danger. She often has confrontations with her master, Shirou, because he wants to keep her safe, she wants to win. Even when her ideals are challenged by the powerful Alexander the Great, she falters only for a moment before renewing and strengthening her resolve.

She is extremely loyal, both to her servants and those she serves. Her will is strong, but she is open to reason. She also has a natural curiosity for the strange (and cute) and often lets her cold mask falter when confronted with something new and unusual to her. But under all this, is a normal girl that just wants normal things. She expresses distress at her own physical appearance as "too muscular and manly" that no man would ever want to look at her. After she has gotten to know someone and become more comfortable with them, she lets her gentle, fragile side show a little more.

Saber's sense of honor and her strong pride are probably her two greatest assests. She never gives up in a fight regardless of her injuries because she always lives believing that what she is doing and fighting for is just and right. Her selflessness drives her to act in the most appropriate and efficient way possible to protect the people and things she cares about: Namely her Kingdom.

Character Name: Hong Meiling
Canon: Touhou Project

Background: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Hong_Meiling http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Embodiment_of_Scarlet_Devil#Story

Setting Information: Already covered.

Portal Location: A small, out of use toolshed in corner of the garden that no one bothered to knock down yet.

Personality: Meiling is, somewhat paradoxically, both very plain and somewhat unusual for a yokai. She likes a stable life with regular meals, a place to live, friends and people to socialize with, and a concrete job in life. She has a very straightforward and human way of thinking - she'll idly chat with passers-by regardless of who or what they are, making small-talk or complaining about silly things. She'll even back off from attacking intruders who apologize and retreat. Her openness and friendliness make the otherwise frightening Scarlet Devil Mansion seem far more a approachable for better or worse. Thus, Meiling seems to anyone who doesn't know about her to be human in every way - she even describes herself as being very normal, and Perfect Memento in Strict Sense agrees. This is a rarity among yokai, where even the most humanlike in appearance tend to have odd behaviors or obvious abilities.

Meiling changes little around friends. While many of Gensokyo's inhuman residents are upbeat and/or friendly, few can match her for combining those along with a rare openness. While she may complain about her job, especially her utter ineffectiveness against a certain witch (at least lately), she'll also listen to other people's complaints and chime in with whatever conclusions she comes too. Surprisingly, this has led to her being fairly casual with her mistress Remilia Scarlet, shown mainly by their dialogue in Hisoutensoku about manga that Meiling borrowed from the little vampire. Her relationship with Sakuya is a little more questionable, ranging from trying to please the harsh maid to a somewhat... rough around the edges friendship that involves lots of knives. She's often portrayed as a playmate of sorts to Flandre, sometimes even more of a sisterly role than anyone else in the mansion due to both her kindness and her ability to take punishment.

Unfortunately, Meiling also has a tendency to come across as bit... dim-witted at times. Her simplicity can bite her in the butt, at times acting without thinking or overthinking things in a ridiculous way. An experience with 'crop circles' in the gardens suggests that she tends not to think about things on a larger scale either, not really caring what they could mean to any aliens that may have placed them (it ended up being Patchouli anyways). It is, however, unlikely that she's actually completely stupid - if nothing else, Remilia would want all of her important servants to be fairly able-minded for appearances sake, so it's possible that Meiling simply doesn't care to use whatever intelligence she has. Her mastery of qi would suggest, at the least, ample knowledge of the human body, and she has the mindset to move lightly and elegantly when performing her martial arts.

Despite her friendliness, simple-mindedness, and tendency to nap on the job, Meiling is quite dedicated to what she does. She's been kept on as a gate guard for a reason after all - despite her failures against the main characters, she's really quite good at it. Aside from Reimu and Marisa, few if any intruders make it past her, and she's been know to attack even those who tried to sneak in while she was napping. She takes pride in her job and her loyalty to the Mansion, and her performance reflects this.

Reason for Joining: Her master/employer and a good friend (of sorts) are already working here; she also would like to see herself as something of a hero of justice at times, and what better way to protect Gensokyo when the red-white miko already has the inside covered so well?

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: Post-UNL

Player Name: Dani
Character Name: Taisuke Kanou
Canon: Alive – The Final Evolution

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alive:_The_Final_Evolution

Setting Information: The setting is Earth, present day. It was recently hit by a world-wide “suicide virus” that caused a huge amount of people to up and commit suicide for no apparent reason. The world is still recovering from the shock. Certain people who survived the “suicide virus” have gained powers and become what are known as Comrades, but the general public is ignorant of their existence.

Comrades, also known as Power Users (Comrades being a term they usually use to refer to one another) are basically people who, when hit by the “suicide virus” (actually pieces of a collective consciousness of suicidal aliens), did not actually have a suicidal urge and instead continued with life. These people survived due to deep-seated negative emotions, as those who do not possess enough negativity basically went nuts and committed suicide. As a result, they have evolved to become stronger, faster, more durable, and even heal quicker. Most Comrades are capable of sensing other such beings nearby, and all Comrades possess a power unique to his or herself. When encountering the mysterious substance Akuro’s Heart, they tend to suddenly feel incredibly sentimental to the point of tears.

Portal Location: His bicycle.

Personality: Taisuke is a shonen hero. He’s kind of dumb, but has a strong sense of morals and is willing to back them up with a fist if he has to. He’s fairly friendly and kind of a dork, and some people regard him as weird because of it. So long as it’s not aimed at any of his friends, Taisuke doesn’t really care... But the moment someone starts picking on his buddies, Taisuke leaps into action, regardless of whether or not he can actually win the fight he’s picking. He’s got a thing about protecting people, probably because his best friend Hirose is bullied regularly by other students. This could be anything from actually fighting a gang of delinquents to trying to grab a girl who is jumping off of the roof. It’s not exactly a conscious decision – someone needs help, so he automatically tries to do what he can.

Since he doesn’t exactly have a good record of actually winning fights, it’s not much of a surprise to find he’s more than used to his role as the series buttmonkey. His totally-not-girlfriend Megumi thwacks him often for going and doing stupid things (liiiike challenging a gang to a fight to defend Hirose), and his older sister Youko sometimes beats him up (lovingly) while simultaneously patching up his wounds for the same reason. Even when he begins traveling with a kid half his age, he’s constantly bombarded by insults to his intelligence and can’t really do much about it. He just kinda puts up with it, like he has for most his life. He’s an optimistic guy anyway, so he tries not to let it bother him... much.

2/3

[identity profile] notadogsuke.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
For a person considered by most as a simpleton, Taisuke can be pretty responsible. Sure, he’ll whine about unimportant things, and he kind of ran away from home in search of his missing friends with only “North” as a clue, but... When it comes to serious matters, he usually keeps it to himself so he doesn’t worry others. not only that, but he manages to take care of himself and two people younger than him the entire trip from Tokyo to a random lake in Hokkaido. He takes it upon himself to earn money for food, clothing, and supplies the entire way. He’s a hard worker, which helps him get jobs as they travel the country. Since no one else in the group knows how to cook, he usually ends up making the food as well – as he was the cook when living with only his sister for family, it works out for them.

Taisuke is generally an upbeat, optimistic person. He tries not to worry others with what he believes to be his own personal problems, such as his guilt over his parents’ deaths (as he was the one who left behind the soda can that rolled under the break pedal and caused the car accident) to himself. He tries hard to keep up a happy image for the others even when he himself is feeling melancholy.

While usually a pretty nice guy, you do not want to make Taisuke angry. He hates injustice and senseless murder (which Katsumata’s Comrades are unusually fond of, ironically) and he will fight to prevent or avenge it. He comes easily attached to those who show him kindness, and is always incredibly disturbed for obvious reasons when they die, particularly right in front of him (which happens more often than you would think). He doesn’t think anyone should kill, but there are a few people he will make exceptions for... but only after they have massacred huge amounts of people with no signs whatsoever of changing. Although already reckless with his own life, he is totally willing to sacrifice himself in order to bring these people down, much to the dismay of his friends.

As a Comrade, he has gained the ability to manipulate fire. Currently, he is limited to things he can touch, and can burn anything with his hands/set it on fire. This has the side effect of completely destroying the cells, to the point that not even other Comrades can heal wounds caused in this manner. He also has the ability to bring things to life/accelerate growth, but he is unaware of this power and cannot use it by will. He’s stronger, faster, more durable, and can heal quicker than most humans due to his being a Comrade. He makes use of these abilities to do all sorts of useful things, like bicycling impossibly fast to get places (With Yuuta, a ten year old kid riding along too) and keep up with cars (while Yuuta and later travel buddy Nami hitch a ride with some reporters in said car). He doesn’t usually make a big show of it, but he definitely uses his abilities in normal, day to day life.

Reason for Joining: At first it was because he filled out the wrong form (he intended to go home), but after finding out about the whole saving-the-multiverse he decided to go ahead and become an Agent after all, since he can’t exactly protect his friends and sister if his world asplodes.

Tenshi Hinanai App

[identity profile] peachhat.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Fennel
Character Name: Tenshi Hinanai
Canon: Touhou

Background: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Tenshi_Hinanai

Setting Information: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki
I think you have the information already, though

Portal Location: A portal high up in the sky, on the floating island the celestials live on. Most were simply ignoring it, due to being busy meditating, but Tenshi inspected it, because she was very bored.

Personality:
Touhou is known for a certain variance in plausible characterisations. And while I am trying to keep as close as possible to canon!Tenshi, others might see her a different way. I've seen people portray has as truly evil, as a goofy masochist, or as a lonely little girl who just wants friends. So, I'd ask you to keep this in mind, my characterisation is only as valid as any other. You might have seen her used differently elsewhere in the vast pit of snakes that is the scary Touhou fandom.

Tenshi is quite a selfish character. Brought up in an environment that gave her pretty much anything she wanted without effort, she never had to work for her living, and her greatest concern is usually that life might get boring. Consequently, she also never really got praise, and is somewhat starved for attention in some form.

She is mostly concerned with her own entertainment and amusement, even if others suffer through it. She is not above destroying shrines, screwing with the weather, and preparing a huge earthquake, just to have some fun. She still is not REALLY one with bad intentions, and she will fix what she caused afterwards, like by rebuilding a shrine she destroyed.

Of course, her idea of fun usually means people fighting her in some way. She even makes sure that people are properly angry at her, to the point of telling characters about her evil earthquake plot just so they could decide to stop her in a properly angry way. Her enthusiasm for enemies fighting her seriously tends to be over the top enough that some people consider her to be a kind of masochist, including Marisa in her entries on Tenshi in the canonical grimoire.

While most of the things she does are centered around getting other people angry at her, there is one thing that makes *her* angry, or at least severly peeved. This is when people don’t respect her power. She has no problem with losing (in fact she prefers losing in the end, because she isn’t actually an evil person, just an annoying one. She wants to have people to fight tomorrow, so nuking them in an earthquake isn’t what she really wants) , as long as people don’t insult her as weak!

She also really hates if people don’t pay attention to her, and will go to some lengths to GET attention.
So, all in all, Tenshi is an annoyance - and she intends to be just that. It gets people in the mood to fight her, after all.

Reason for Joining:
Fun. Tenshi is a troublemaker who can get bored pretty easily. When she heard of potential massive disaster striking worlds, she thought, hey, messing THAT up could really get her not-bored for a while. It’s really important to her to not be bored, after all. Plus, lots of other people trying to stop that stuff, who could also be fun.

Position Desired: Agent.
Tenshi claims she should be an Enforcer due to being powerful and beating up Reimu once, but Tenshi is not to be listened to.

Point in Canon: Post Double Spoiler, including all canon work before that one. Not that she appears in that many…

Notes: None. I did read the rules and found nothing special to put here, so I wonder if I missed something… :o

Sample Post:
I played her for several months in netherworld_RPG, here:

I’m really quite something, you know.

Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities:

Minato Arisato

[identity profile] albiel-rhodes.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Albiel
Character Name: Minato Arisato
Canon: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3

Background:
http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Protagonist_%28Persona_3%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persona_3#Story

Setting Information: We already have had this world apped in.

Portal Location: Gates of Gekkoukan High (Or Tartarus, if a Persona-user enters during the Dark Hour).

Personality: Like Souji, Minato does not have a completely-defined personality, due to the fact that his main role is that of an avatar for the player. We do see some attributes of his personality that are not changed by the player’s choices, however. For example, upon grabbing an Evoker for the first time, he hesitates before using it. Of course, anyone would hesitate if they gave you a gun-shaped object and told you to shoot yourself, but the fact that he eventually did it says something about his character. Then again, if there’s one thing that can’t be doubted about Minato, it’s his bravery. Whether you actually raise his ‘Courage’ level or not, the guy takes constant trips into a tower filled with monsters that want to kill him.

Minato doesn’t really talk much more than he has to. Even in the manga, where he is given an actual, definitive personality, he does not usually speak unless he is spoken to. This seems to be part of his calm and collected personality. Still, while we’re talking about the manga, it is worth noting that Minato gains two noteworthy quirks in that adaptation. The first is his ability to eat. He orders a burger half his size when Junpei invites him to lunch (Obviously, this is used for comedic effect, so I won’t make much use of it). The second is the extent to which his calm personality goes. Apparently, being that mellow all the time can make everything get boring pretty quickly, and Minato occasionally finds himself wishing he could go to sleep, a fact that is reflected in him dozing off during calm moments.

Despite the aforementioned level-headedness, Minato can be quite impulsive on occasion. When faced with a situation in which a train was going to crash (A situation in which the rest of his team was unable to move due to fear), he dashed towards a random lever, pulled it, and saved the day. Upon being asked why he did it, his only possible answers were that he trusted his instincts or that he guessed.

[identity profile] albiel-rhodes.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Minato seems to have taken the death of his parents pretty well, perhaps because he was so young when they died. He doesn’t really complain about it, and will only mention it when someone else brings up the subject (Which is… kind of an achievement, in this game). In fact, Minato seems to avoid complaining whenever possible, likely due to the fact that he does not talk much at all. He never protests much against getting roped into positions of leadership, and he rarely (If ever, depending on your ending) backs down from seemingly impossible challenges. This does not mean that other people won’t complain to him , however. Be it a little girl talking about her troubled family or another person on the Internet complaining about her job, someone is always there to explain their problems to him, and Minato, though scarce in words, is always willing to lend his advice.

Of course, one can’t explain Minato’s character without going into his selflessness. Minato’s death was quite peculiar in that he sacrificed his life to seal Nyx, the would-be destroyer of the world. He knew fully well what the cost would be when he created the Seal, yet he decided that sacrificing his life would be worth it if he could grant his friends, and everyone in the world, a future. (The fact that he would’ve died later is inconsequential, as is the fact that this Minato is about an hour away from reaching that point in canon. ‘It’s the thought that counts’, they say.)

Reason for Joining: His world disappeared, so he wants to recover it. It’s not like he can go back, so he might as well take part in the investigation.

Position Desired: Enforcer. I want Minato to have an active part in saving his world. It’s not like he hasn’t been in positions of leadership before. Just ask Junpei.

Point in Canon: Just before the Good Ending, at the moment in which they’re about to face Nyx’s Avatar. (Thank God CO can access different points in time, or the Persona world would be facing much bigger problems than disappearing from CO’s radar.)

Player Name: Eek [livejournal.com profile] badsnackfood
Character Name: Olgilvie Maurice Hedgehog (aka. Sonic the Hedgehog)
Canon: Sonic’verse

Background: Here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(character))

Setting Information: Set on Earth, year 3240. Mobians (the evolved, sentient animal hybrids that Sonic happens to be one of) appeared during the second quarter of the twenty-third century. No one is sure what caused them to appear but their amazing abilities and larger-than-life personalities supplied a sudden Technicolor foil to the mundane-yet-cerebral humans that not even the humans themselves knew they were missing. There were a few problems as they integrated into the cities, but after a thousand years hardly anyone holds any grudges.

This is a high-technology world: jet propulsion, antigravity, clean energy from various sources, elaborate robots, teleportation, and synthetic life forms all exist. But in other ways the technology has gone backwards to go forward; A great deal of the population now lives in densely-filled cities with large spans of naturalized land between. The reeling-in of urban sprawl was one of the measures taken to correct some very bad environmental decisions made on the humans’ part millennia ago.

This isn't to say that humans suddenly all became virtuous and heroic. In fact as the tech advanced, so too did the scope and value of atrocities using that tech. Jet propulsion meant missile threats, antigravity brought singularity bombs, synthetic life brought biological superweapons, and robotics ushered in the horrors of nanite-bourne roboticization of living tissue. Several of these chilling weapons were the brain-childs of a single family line; Robotnik. The latest heir to the name is Ivo Robotnik, a half-crazed man who is bound and determined to use his brilliant and nefarious mind to take over the world. Given the mocking name of Eggman by his enemies due to his... rather round shape, he took the name and ran with it, vowing to make them hate and fear that name more than his real one. And he did; the once-silly-sounding name now causes a room to go quiet whenever someone mentions it.

About the same time the Mobians had appeared, something else surfaced. Several somethings, in fact; seven unbreakable fist-sized gems in different colors known as Chaos Emeralds. Again, no one knows where exactly they came from, but their properties made every single physics book ever written immediately obsolete. Like faceted perpetual-motion machines, they magnified energy that was applied to them tenfold, and multiple ones in close proximity magnified that ten times over again. Countries, kingdoms and dictators all tried to get their hands on all seven, wars were fought across the centuries, but no one succeeded and the gems fell out of memory. That is, until about twenty years ago when a scientist by the name of Charles Hedgehog began running models on the Emeralds' energy magnification. He theorized that larger groups of the gems would not just radiate more power, but in a finer range, infusing more sensitive objects. Five would not only charge metal, machines, solid-state batteries and high-voltage transformers, but also subatomic particles in the air around it. Six could rearrange electron shells, and change a substance at the molecular level. And seven… could even charge the very soul of the being that held them, using their psyche as an amplifier. He was knighted for his work, but when his body of work was confiscated by the government he resigned his position, taking up a humble chili dog stand in the city to get away from government machinations and to spend more time with his nephew, Ollie.

Sonic always hated it it when Uncle Chuck called him that.

Special world-based limitations: Mobians tend to develop fantastic abilities with exhaustive regularity. Therefore the probability of a form-change into a Mobian depends on an Agent’s abilities. Agents with world-shattering powers will be reduced to non-world-shattering levels, but they will almost undoubtedly find themselves a little fuzzier (or featherier, or scalier) than they were before. And the type of power need not necessarily dictate the species of Mobian: foxes can fly by spinning their tails, hedgehogs can break the sound barrier on foot, felines can be pyrokinetic. On the other side of the scale, Agents without any special abilities will more likely find themselves as a human instead. Though that doesn’t mean that they lose what few powers they have, or that they are useless. Humans are calmer in general, more contemplative, and are very good at detailing plans or figuring out how a situation can work to their advantage. This is merely a guideline however; Agents with powers could turn out to be human, and those without could be turned into a squirrel or a robin or whatever best suits them. They are just more likely to undergo this change, if they have exceptional abilities.

Portal Location: Second fountain on the right, Solaris square, Soleanna.

Personality: The lightning-fast synapse connections necessary for negotiating obstacles at high speed mean that he has easily the fastest reflexes on his world. But having an overclocked brain has its drawbacks, as he tends to be hyperactive and impatient, with a tendency to dive into a situation before he even knows the whole story. He has a bad habit of fidgeting and pacing, stretching and climbing things, anything to burn off the energy. He's confident and not afraid to voice it; some would say it borders on arrogance. All this together may make him seem a little flaky... except during a crisis. He becomes a totally different Hedgehog then; focused, determined and unshakable.

He's no clausterphobe but he still prefers the outdoors where there's plenty of room to move. It's worth noting that he never actually learned to swim--by the time he was old enough to learn, he was already running over the surface of the water. It didn't help that his unusual muscle density causes him to sink like a rock. Several brushes with death involving deep water have turned him into a bit of an aquaphobe, and he will not enter anything deeper than a bathtub unless he really has to.

He's been able to run fast ever since he could remember, and he first broke the sound barrier when he was eight years old. He wasn't the glorious moment of realization to his true purpose that people would think; he wound up in the hospital for trauma from the shockwave. The medical staff started refering to him as "the sonic kid", and the name stuck. That fact that, even as a pup he went on running, is a testament to the determination he can show at times.

His fighting style is actually a self-made combination of parkour, gymnastics and martial arts, and he's sought out some amount of training in all three. This athleticism only supports the fact that one would be hard-pressed to find a guy more stereotypically male than Sonic too. His apartments and living quarters are treated as little more than a crash pad (sometimes literally), he's into soccer and racing games, he eats anything you'll put in front of him (and ask for seconds) and if Amy Rose--his biggest fan and self-proclaimed girlfriend--even mentions the "M" word around him he's gone before she can make it to the last letter.

Character Name: Mustrum Ridcully
Canon: Discworld

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustrum_Ridcully

Setting Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld_%28world%29
AND
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unseen_University just for good measure

Portal Location: Oh goodness. It's somewhere in the university. We're never quite sure where, though. It tends to move around.

Personality: When the University elected Ridcully to be Archchancellor, it had been going through a particularly violent period. At that time the traditional method of advancement among wizards was by the assassination of your superior, and everyone was worked up into horrible balls of stress and paranoia. They decided that what they needed was a wizard who was peaceful and in tune with nature. They chose Ridcully because after graduating, he had left the university to manage his family's estates out in the countryside and no one had seen him since.

They had expected a wizard who was good with herbs and folklore and who spoke to the animals, but that isn't QUITE what they got. Ridcully did indeed talk to the animals, but what he generally said to them was "NEARLY GOT YOU THAT TIME YOU BASTARD!"

Ridcully has single handedly reformed the Unseen University by way of being basically impossible to kill. In fact the normal fate for would be assassins was to have Ridcully appear behind them suddenly, who would then yell at them for a while while slamming their head repeatedly into the door. As this has put a cap on how far you can advance by murder, the university as a whole has calmed down more than somewhat.

Ridcully is an outdoorsman. He loves hunting, and is fond of early morning exercise routines (Which he generally tries to force his subordinates to join him on.). While skilled at magic, he generally doesn't bother with it unless he really needs to (This has probably contributed to his success at avoiding magical assassins, who are generally expecting a magical defense, instead of five feet of seasoned oak or a crossbow bolt to the face. If that's not enough to take something down, you shouldn't be messing with it anyways.).

Ridcully is, in fact, quite intelligent. He doesn't immediately seem like it, having a mind much like a freight train: fast, unstoppable, and almost impossible to change the course of once it's gotten up to speed. On top of this, he has a tendancy to avoid people trying to tell him things. He figures that if all it takes for someone to give up on trying to tell him something is a few dismissive replies, then it probably wasn't that important anyways. Ridcully has keen insight into the human mind, and an EXCELLENT poker face, having come to power during a time when wizards who blinked died.

Ridcully is fairly vain. He is immensly proud of being the owner of the archchancellor's hat (it marks him as the most important wizard in the world, even though he doesn't normally wear it since the hat has a tendancy to gripe and complain.) and grabs for any other prestige he can claim over his peers. He very much as the attitude of an aristocrat, frequently speaking of the "working classes" as though they were below him. He is also, like most wizards, immensely fond of large meals, smoking and alcohol, and has naturally gravitated to a shape more or less like Santa Claus.

Reason for Joining: A chance to be more in the know than his fellow wizards? He'll freakin' jump on that!

Position Desired: Hmm, no agent won't do at all. He's an Archchancellor, after all. It'll have to be Councilor.

Point in Canon: Post Unseen Academicals

Favorite Color: Red

Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: Probably couldn't ACTUALLY shatter the world, by myself.

Education Background: Graduate of the finest single education institution in the world.

Work Experience: Archchancellor of aforementioned education institution

Favorite Plant and/or Animal: If I can kill it, I like it.

Interview:

What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?: Well that's the job of a wizard isn't it? Exploring and poking at the boundries of reality and all that right?

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: Oh my dad, beyond a doubt. Taught me how to hunt and everything.

So how 'bout them Tenbraks eh? Eh? Catch the game? 52-7, I told Janice in Accounting, I said "those Balthims, they're just not up to snuff this year," but no, she said "I'll bet you 20 plat they're gonna take the banner." Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?: This would be your a working class entertainment? Do tell me more. No? A pity.

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: Agent!? Nonono that's no good at all. A man of my experience and wisdom couldn't be a lowly agent. No it's COUNCILOR for me!

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: Fundamental understanding of the laws of magic and years of knowledge and experience on the subjects of human thought and social dynamics. Also, I'm a crack shot with a Crossbow

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: As long as it doesn't take TOO much longer. It's almost lunch time.

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: No wizard worth his salt would pass up a chance to meddle in affairs he shouldn't be meddling in.

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: No.

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: I already do.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: I should hope you would be!

Player Name: Elly
Character Name: Suwako Moriya
Canon: Touhou Project

Background: Good? (http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Suwako_Moriya#Mountain_of_Faith_-_.E3.82.AD.E3.83.A3.E3.83.A9.E8.A8.AD.E5.AE.9A.txt)

Setting Information: I believe you have this already~

Portal Location: One of the upper spaces in the Moriya shrine's torii.

Personality: Suwako is a whimsical god, certainly not one for overawing the lowly mortals. Her appearance is unassuming, her behavior playful. Good-natured and cheerful, full of energy in a down-to-earth way, she loves festivities and fun. She treats others with a casual, friendly impertinence; while she doesn't stand for true disrespect, she's quite unconcerned with formality. And herself she comports with a sense of showmanship as well as a definite sense of humor. Yep, she can get more than a little goofy. Kind of adorable too, really.

Make no mistake, however, Suwako ain't stupid. Whatever her quirks, she is also a thousands-of-years-old god who was once influential enough to found her own kingdom and powerful enough to fend off all but one of its attackers (who still couldn't keep it under control without her help, at that). She may not stand on formality, but she does know the value of tradition; she may come up a bit short in dignity, but she does have her pride. After all this time, she gets how things work pretty well and has a lot of perspective -- this is someone who was, not too long ago, calmly resigned to the idea of disappearing completely. Of course, since that didn't happen, she also knows enough to make the very most of her new lease on life, and she's enjoying the heck out of it. And Suwako's good at that. The fun-loving, silly girl this god appears to be is, well, exactly the person she is. It just doesn't do to underestimate that. She'd be a great person to go to for advice, really, if she could only be counted on to make a distinction between teaching and teasing.

Suwako enjoys a unique position: she's left behind the prestige of being known, but also the responsibilities, all while she does still get the power of her shrine's faith. So she's basically free to do as she pleases; however, she's still invested in the shrine's affairs. She's good friends with her fellow goddess Kanako (even though they argue a lot) and dedicated to the development of their attendant Sanae (who is also sort of considered a living god herself and happens to be Suwako's own descendant). And she's interested in people in general -- the relationship between gods and mortals is one of mutual reliance, after all, and she's unquestionably a benevolent deity. Besides, people are pretty darn fascinating in their own right. Suwako goes way back with humanity, and she's always happy to find someone really interesting.

Although she means well, Suwako can be irresponsible, and she does have a definite unpredictable streak. She's by no means dishonest, but she's not one to announce it when she's got something up her sleeve, nor is she above opportunism. Even her allies can get a bit uneasy realizing that they might not always know what she's up to. And a certain amount of arrogance comes with being an ancient and powerful entity as well, which, along with Suwako's tendency to follow her whims, means she's not too likely to stop and touch base when she probably should. Still, her intentions are absolutely nothing to worry about; on her own, Suwako has more frivolous interests than world-changing ones. (Coming up with those is Kanako's job.) She likes going out to play with the followers; she likes complaining about Kanako and teasing-slash-testing Sanae; she likes telling people they'll get cursed if they don't respect sacred traditions, thankfully more than she likes actually cursing people. She has fun.

Apparently this is 2 of 3 by the way

[identity profile] eldena.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
Reason for Joining: A lot of it is good old-fashioned curiosity, though there is a touch of practicality to back it up; if there is anything to the "multiple worlds" deal that may be relevant or useful to her and hers, Suwako will be happy to investigate it. This is also true of Confuto Ordinato itself, really. Doing actual work might even be on her list of things to do somewhere or other; it's as good a reason to check out a given world as any. Not to mention, of course, she isn't particularly keen on the notion of universes collapsing. Normally she'd probably send Sanae for this kind of thing, but since that's not an option doing things this way is fun too, and besides the look on her face will be so worth it.

Position Desired: Preferably Enforcer. In all honesty, given her history and significance, Suwako would more than likely be justified in gunning for Councilor. She doesn't want to. She has no interest in prestige, and she'd much rather be doing field work than politics. Agent would work too, but it's better to have some clout if she ever needs it.

Point in Canon: Fully updated, why not! Hisoutensoku was a rousing success, and nothing actually happens in Double Spoiler so who cares.

Notes: Besides Suwako's surprisingly broad portfolio of hax, gods have some funny properties. Mainly, I might as well note the dependence on faith; it powers everything she does, and in a world where nobody has any faith in Kanako her, Suwako should technically disappear immediately. By a strict interpretation, this might make interdimensional travel a problem, but since that would also make RP sort of difficult, I'm perfectly prepared to handwave it away entirely. However, if you guys would prefer to propose some more interesting application of that quirk or any other, by all means.

Sample Post:

Name: Suwako Moriya (Western order)
Gender: Female
Age: Hard to say the exact number. It's in the upper 2000s, how's that?
Home Plane Identification Number: 891009N6
Visitor Identification Number: TH-K63

Reason for requisitioning a Gate Key: Seems like it would be hard to get through the gates without one.

Intended use of the Gate Key: I have a home to keep up on, you know. But I wouldn't mind some sight-seeing either!

Favorite Color: Green.

Measurements (Female applicants only): Ha! You guys are pretty bold. Sorry, true believers only!

Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: Hm... Let's just say "ability to create earth", all right? I'm sure you'll get the idea eventually.

Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities: Nothing too unusual. For a god, you know.

Psychiatric Evaluation Code: Sorry about that, but the guy who was analyzing me ran off to find himself. I think he might've been an atheist.

Hobbies: People-watching.

Education Background: You could say I'm mostly self-taught.

Work Experience: Well, whether it's the kingdom of Moriya or the shrine, I don't think you'll get many references these days. But since I'm the origin of both, I'd say they ought to have some weight, right?

Favorite Plant and/or Animal: I'd be in trouble if I didn't say frogs.

Player Name: Prof
Character Name: Shizune Hakamichi
Canon: Katawa Shoujo

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katawa_Shoujo

Portal Location: Through another closet in the Student Council room.

Personality:
Shizune is very strong-willed and forceful in personality. She is very interested in getting her way, and frequently refuses to back down until she does. This sometimes goes as far as physically restraining or dragging people until they give in to what she wants. However, when things DO go her way, she's always very fair about things. She'll frequently do favors for people who are helping her with something, such as getting drinks or paying for food delivery. She expects a lot from other people, but gives a lot in return.

One of Shizune's primary ways of getting her way is through subtle manipulation. She can be a magnificent bastard chessmaster when she wants to be, and you usually don't notice it until it's too late. She's not above blackmail or deceit when it comes to this kind of thing. Fortunately, what Shizue wants is usually fairly harmless, such as more members for the Student Council or some help working on a project. It may occasionally seem like she's picking on people, but she does this the most with people she likes.

It's probably worth mentioning that Shizune is deaf and mute. She communicates in writing and sign language, and relies on her friend Misha to interpret back and forth between spoken and sign for her. This generally has led to the two of them being more or less inseparable, although she's plenty capable of surviving on her own. When left without anyone who knows sign language, she alternates between using writing and her natural expressiveness to convey whatever needs conveying. A lifetime of being unable to speak has left her very good at showing emotion on her face.

Shizune has a more immature side, seen most commonly whenever competition comes up. She is VERY competitive, especially when it comes to fairly unimportant games. Her favorite game is Risk, and while playing she is quick to turn utterly ruthless. She takes a childish delight in undermining and crushing her enemies on the field of battle. This can also show up in her social life in the form of her being just a little bit petty at times. In canon, a rivalry between her and Lilly turns into open spiteful dislike, and even to her disliking Hanako just because she's friends with Lilly.

Reason for Joining: It seems more important than playing around in the school council.

Position Desired: Enforcer - she's a strong leader type, good at organizing large-scale events quickly and efficiently.

Point in Canon: After the end of Act 1 on her path.

Notes: Due to the whole deaf and mute thing, I'd like to get Shizune an NPC interpreter to be available to translate to and from sign language, if that's cool.

Ryouko App 1/3

[identity profile] genderbent-thug.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Rift
Character Name: Ryou(ko) Kagami
Canon: Original Canon

Background:
Ryou was born into a somewhat strange childhood, with a rather eccentric father who raised him alone (his mother died when he was too young to remember her in childbirth of his younger sister). His father was the priest of a small Shinto shrine, and as a result trained Ryou rigorously throughout his developmental years. As is often the case, this caused him to rebel later in life, and he found himself getting mixed up with “a bad crowd” in his early teens. Nonetheless, as a result of his father’s training as well as a naturally high athleticism and metabolism, his reputation rose rather quickly in the criminal underworld and he became the leader of his own small gang, consisting of his closest friends.

Eventually, however, his antics had consequences. Their reckless young hubris caused them to anger greater powers, and without even understanding how or why his gang was brutally slaughtered, except for himself and his best friend. Among the casualties was his girlfriend. In a grief induced rage, he attacked the ones responsible for the slaughter and took vengeance. While at the time he believed that to be the end of things, in reality the small group he thought responsible had really only been a small branch of a larger power he would later have to face once again: the Syndicate.

After leaving the hospital (he didn’t walk away from his previous encounters unscathed), he was approached by an older man he’d run into in the past: Gojiro Tanabe, a senior officer in the Hagino-gumi. At this point Ryou had become something of a legend, and he was offered a position with the yakuza family. With nowhere else to go (he had long since cut ties with his actual family), he accepted the offer. His only goal in joining the yakuza was to find an outlet for the rage he still held, although over the course of his years in the Hagino-gumi his anger somewhat subsided.

Eventually as he garnered more trust and responsibility in the organization, he was given a new fateful task: that of bodyguard to the daughter of the head of the family, Kazumi Hagino…

For the events that followed, refer to Kazumi’s background: http://yakuza-otaku.livejournal.com/319.html

Of particular significance is the fact that in the ensuing conflict between the Hagino-gumi and the Syndicate, he encountered his old girlfriend revived through strange technology and turned into a mindless super soldier. In the ensuing chaos, he himself underwent the same procedure… and was turned into a female (the process was only designed to be used on females). The use of the procedure on a male was never intended, and what exactly the other possible side effects could be are unknown. While (s)he does boast superior strength, stamina, speed, and reflexes that the procedure bestows, it requires that she “recharge” periodically in a facility designed for that purpose. No other negative side effects have presented themselves… yet.

Setting Information:
More or less a normal Earth setting, although somewhat romanticized as fictional yakuza settings tend to be. There’s also a dash of strange science, but that should be apparent from the fact that Ryouko was turned into a genderswapped super soldier through “science”.

Portal Location: Inside a men’s restroom at a restaurant near the Hagino-gumi mansion.

Ryouko App 2/3

[identity profile] genderbent-thug.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Ryouko is fairly guarded with her emotions, although over time her emotional barriers have begun to fade. Due to the severe trauma she’s undergone in the past, she does her best to project an aura of indifference about those around her. She was particularly opposed to being assigned as Kazumi’s bodyguard for that reason – she didn’t want to be depended on by a teenage girl who was the same age her girlfriend had been when she died. For that reason, she purposely distanced herself from Kazumi as much as possible, often resulting in the younger girl getting upset with her.

Despite her “cool” act, however, a person’s underlying personality rarely changes. Ryouko has a rather short fuse that can get easily ignited by small things that irritate her. She’s quick to accept (and sometimes pick) fights with little regard for the consequences. Even among her yakuza compatriots, she’s considered to be a violent loose cannon, if you upset her. To sum it up plainly, “you won’t like her when she’s angry.” While she’s always had confidence in her strength, she has difficulty controlling it now that it has been artificially enhanced. The super soldier procedure she underwent was normally accompanied with thorough brainwashing and reprogramming. Without the “benefit” of such things, she sometimes has less control over her own abilities than she would like.

More recently, due to her own gender confusion, she has an insistence on being treated like a man. She dresses and acts like one (not surprising, considering she originally is one), although attempts to crossdress aren’t particularly successful due to her very large bust (while she has tried to bind them, they often refuse to be contained to humorous results. To her own horror, because of her new biological makeup, she has found her own personality and preferences changing at times in regards to certain things (such as the development of a fondness for sweets and cute things that she at least claims are new). The gender change obviously also has had consequences in regards to his love life, since she generally feels awkward with regards to anything concerning love now that he is a she.

Reason for Joining: As Kazumi’s bodyguard, she obviously feels at least some obligation to look after her well being. At the same time, the existence of a multiverse piques her interest, as she’s always seeking new challenges for her to test herself… especially given her recent expansion of powers.

Position Desired: Agent. While she does have experience as a high ranking member of the yakuza and could possibly qualify as an Enforcer, she tends to shy away from the responsibilities associated with command.

Point in Canon: Four months after the described events .

Notes: World notes:
Warning: Yakuza, Warning: Super powered women, Warning: Guns aren’t actually that useful.

Yukari Takeba app 1/2

[identity profile] evokeslovers.livejournal.com 2010-06-14 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: (An alias or online name is perfectly fine) Mags
Character Name: Yukari Takeba
Canon: Persona 3

Background: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Yukari_Takeba

Setting Information: Already have the world

Portal Location: Third year classroom of Gekkoukan High School.

Personality: Yukari was a rather troubled girl, having lost her father when she was a little girl during the experiments that he was performing for the Kirijo Group. For the longest time, she had had trouble making close friends, and eventually joined SEES to find out information about her father. However, the year that SEES had dealt with the Dark Hour and the Shadows had made it easier for her to start opening up to other people and get close to them. Especially Minato Arisato and Mitsuru Kirijo.

While Yukari tries to look forward to the future, she is still haunted by Minato Arisato's death after the defeat of Nyx in her world. Although she knows that he did what was necessary with no regrets, a good part of her longs for him to come back to her, even after rejecting the chance to go back in time and try to find a way to make it so that he didn't need to sacrifice himself. She has a rather disgusted view of sex and love in general, due to her mother's jumping from boyfriend to boyfriend after her father's death. However, despite this, she had developed romantic feelings for Minato, but whether or not she'd act on them if given to chance to see him again isn't something that she knows of yet.

In addition to all of this, Yukari is also one who tends to act a bit without thinking, but once she gets an idea or plan in her head she almost always refuses to give it up, unless there is a really good reason for her to do so. And so far, except in two cases (namely, how she initially felt about Mitsuru and not going back in time to not have Minato sacrifice himself to defeat Nyx) there haven't been any times where there has been a good reason for her to do so.

Reason for Joining: Yukari decided to join the organization to help keep the worlds from behind destroyed by everything that was going on, mostly because that would render Minato Arisata's sacrifice to keep Nyx from destroying her world pointless.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: Shortly Post Persona 3 FES: The Answer

Notes: Yukari's Persona, Isis, can use both Wind Magic, Healing Magic, and some support skills.

Yamada App 1/2

[identity profile] super-waitress.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Rift
Character Name: Aoi Yamada
Canon: Working!!

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working!!

Setting Information: Working!! more or less takes place on Earth in a normal contemporary setting.

Portal Location: The attic of Wagnaria (where she lives).

Personality:
Aoi is a strange mixture or character quirks, which leads to her personality seeming rather disjointed and hard to determine at times. At her core, she’s a young girl searching for a place where she feels comfortable and belongs; she just isn’t sure where that place is or what it should be. She is a runaway, fleeing from her family (or wherever she comes from) for unknown reasons, and to that extent lies considerably in an effort to hide the fact that she is a runaway. Due to her own naivety, however, she’s a rather poor liar: pretty much all of her lies are easy for anyone with an ounce of common sense to see through. She’s also slightly narcissistic, in that she believes that she is good at everything, despite being horribly inept.

Despite her penchant for lying, Aoi is fundamentally a sweet girl who likes being helpful. Or at least, trying to be helpful. Once again due to her own naivety, and to a certain extent her lack of common sense, her attempts to help others usually just cause trouble. She is also extremely emotional and caring; however, because of her strange way of perceiving the world, her emotional displays are often troubling to those around her.

While her perception is horribly flawed in regards to most things, she does have amazing insight into relationships. She can often see through to people’s true feelings for others with great ease (although sometimes this misfires). Of course, due to her naivety and desire to be helpful, this insight into matters of the heart is more of a curse than a boon since she tries to “help” relationships along. And by “help”, I mean bluntly stating that Person A likes Person B to Person B without any regard for the consequences.

Although Aoi is a runaway, being a young girl at heart, she nonetheless craves having a family. This usually leads to her trying to cast the people around her into roles as her makeshift family, to somewhat comedic and troubling results (such as insisting that an old married man is her father and a teenage girl is her mother, and asking them to marry one another for her benefit). While some of this is simply based on her innocence, it’s also fueled by a slightly perverse desire to make things “interesting” (when she’s told that her chosen father is already married, she states that only makes it better since it’ll lead to soap opera-esque drama).

Reason for Joining: Given that Aoi is a runaway, she’ll pretty much gravitate towards anywhere she can take advantage of people’s generosity to survive.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: After the conclusion of Working!!

Notes: Aoi talks in the third person, referring to herself as Yamada. She also refers to other people by name, instead of using pronouns. Also, Aoi Yamada is a fake name (although it is implied that Aoi is her real first name), so she sometimes fails to respond to it.

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: Ah... u-um... Yamada doesn’t remember her family. Yamada has amnesia from falling down when her house was being burnt down...

Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?: Y-Yamada likes the Ten Cracks very much! The Dolphins aren’t up to “snuff” at all this year.

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: Because Yamada would make a very good secret agent.

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: Y-Yamada can do all kinds of stuff... l-like... um... taking orders and breaking dishes! ...Yamada meant washing dishes!

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: Yamada is a wonderful match.

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: Yamada doesn’t do that at all. (total lie)

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: Yamada will fight for justice!

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: Yamada will work for her chest to grow!

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Yay!

Player Name: Elliott Belser
Character Name: Princess Sally Acorn
Canon: SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog

Background: The throne of planet Mobius has been usurped by Dr. Julian Ivo Robotnik. Using his army of 'roboticized' citizens - sapient beings mind-controlled and turned into robots - Robotnik stormed the royal family's home, and despoiled the once-green land with war machines.

Now that the purple-prose section is over with, let's get to teal deers. A resistance force led by the daughter of the royal family, Sally Acorn, is striking back using geurrila tactics. The greatest of the rebels is Sonic the Hedgehog, who as the opening theme song declares is "the fastest thing alive!"

Setting Information: Somewhat undefined. Robotopolis is the renamed capital, an industrialized fortress and Robotnik's home. The Resistance base is in a deep forest, accessible on foot only from a bolthole disguised as a tree trunk, and next to a pool that emits golden, energy-infused Power Rings every 24 hours.

Portal Location: An experimental teleportation device stolen from Robotnik, and perfected by the mechanic Rotor, in a defensible area of the base.

Personality: Sally Acorn is a no-nonsense, take charge woman who knows that she has a duty to her realm and it's people. She will not rest until her world is safe from Robotnik. While she won't stop at nothing - in fact, you can trip her up with a direct threat to citizens or the noncombatants of the Resistance, especially Tails - she is both driven and pragmatic.

Her approach to Sonic, who she probably has come to terms with loving by now, is cool and professional on missions, somewhat more affectionate in private but still somewhat detatched.

Reason for Joining: Duty. If there are villains as bad as Robotnik - and allies as powerful as Sonic - out there, she must thwart the villains and court alliances. Access to Planeo tech won't hurt either...

Position Desired: Any are appropriate. She is a princess, and the rightful ruler of Mobius. I would prefer Enforcer or Agent, Enforcer as she is best in command of small commando teams.

Point in Canon: Early in the series, roughly mid - first season.

Notes: Warning - Robots. Warning - Disturbing purring villains. Warning - Furries. Warning - panstless furries. Warning - cybernetic pantsless furries. Warning - He's the fastest thing alive.

Gender: Female
Age: 23
Home Plane Identification Number: SH-SAM
Visitor Identification Number: PSAA-002

Reason for requisitioning a Gate Key: To find possible threats to the multiverse, and possible allies for Confuto Ordinario and my own world of Mobius.

Intended use of the Gate Key: Recon in force and guerrilla actions against the enemies of Confuto Ordinario, in small teams; or diplomatic actions to potential allies.

Favorite Color: Blue.

Measurements (Female applicants only): N/A, see attached note. *I don't understand how this is relevant to the position, and have left it blank.

Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: Access to 'Nicole,' the most advanced intrusion computer of my world.

Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities: Years of experience and training as a peacetime administrator and as a guerrilla commander.

Psychiatric Evaluation Code: E-I-T-F Meyers Briggs.

Hobbies: Computer programming and games, writing, horticulture.

Education Background: Mobotropilan Royal Academy, from K-14.

Work Experience: Well, I was both the Crown Princess of Mobius and a guerrilla commando leader for about 5 years after that. Rather impressive resume, I would think.

Favorite Plant and/or Animal: ...I'll go with plants. Roses - I used to tend them in the royal gardens. Saved a cutting for the Resistance, as well.

Interview:

What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?: A useful accident with an experimental teleportation device.

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: My... my father, Max, instilled in me the values - and pragmatism - that made me the leader I am today.

Ain't that a riot?: They have a chance this year, I think; they've been trading for better defensive backwards and middlers. Facinating game, though I'm sure some of my troops would be more interested at the chili dogs at the concession stands.

...What? Of course I studied up. Your SchmoozePlace account mentioned you go to local games; so I brushed up.

What inspired you to apply for an Enforcer Position?: I believe I work best as a leader, sir. I'm fairly good at communications and command tech. I just feel my talents would be wasted as an Agent, although I will accept your final decision. If there's even one other Robotnik out there - metaphorically speaking - I need to face him.

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: I'm an excellent diplomat, hacker, and field commando leader.

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: Understood.

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: Hah! Everyone makes mistakes, but I like to think I have more discretion, most of the time.

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: Not a bad way to put it, yes.

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: Always.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Thank you, sir. I'll report for duty as soon as you say the word.

Player Name: Random AKA [livejournal.com profile] this_troper
Character Name: Aqua
Canon: Kingdom Hearts

Background: Aqua's page on the KH wiki (”http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Aqua”), BBS entry on the KH wiki (”http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Birth_By_Sleep”)

Setting Information: Sora and Roxas should've provided you with sufficient information

Portal Location: In the Realm of Darkness.

Personality: Aqua is an intelligent, diligent, and driven young woman, as befitting someone who has trained to be a Keyblade Master from the time she was a young child. She's the sort of person who sets her sights on a goal and will do what she can to attain it, but with a caveat. You see, Aqua is a very caring person to the point the well-being of her friends can override all else. If it's someone she cares for or can thrum one of her heartstrings it's surprisingly easy to convince her to let them have their way.

This doesn't mean she doesn't try to do the right thing despite pressure from her friends. She's a kind person, but she has some steel to her. One has to in order to fight creatures that threaten the multiverse as we know it. She's the sort who will relent when people need help playing a game despite needing to leave, but if the matter is urgent and immediate she won't even question it. Ask her to do something she knows is wrong? No matter who you are she will rebuke you outright. She might be impolite and respectful when needed, but it would take a lot to convince her to go against her morals.

She's also competitive. In a friendly tournament she has no problem taunting her opponent and showing off her skills to get the better of them and in a match meant to be serious she will do her best to get the better of them. She's also awkward at times. Insinuate things with her and she will rebuke it, ask her point-blank for something as simple as a date or a kiss and she will blush, stutter, and try to come up with as many excuses as possible for why she can't do it.

[identity profile] keybearer-lost.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)

Reason for Joining: Because the primary goal of a Keyblade Master is to protect the various worlds. Since CO's mission statement is in line with this, she has no problem joining up.

Position Desired: Enforcer. Aqua is very skilled with both combat and magic and is a fully-fledged Keyblade Master. Add in to this her time traveling to many and varied worlds before joining up and her role in stopping the Unverse threat, she has plenty of experience for the position.

Point in Canon: Post-canon, but before the secret ending.

Notes: Not at this time.

Setting Information: Sora and Roxas and Aqua should've had it covered.

Portal Location: Ven's room in Land of Departure

Personality: Derpy by default, Ven is really the go-to person when it comes to being cheerful and helpful, really! He will help others if you ask him nicely, for sure. Cheerful? You bet he is! Since he is the youngest of a trio of Keyblade Masters, its obvious he is not that mature yet, so expect heavy does of naivety when dealing with serious matters. Speaking of naivety, Ven is also very determined when it comes to fighting threats to his friend, as he believes in one thing, and that even if it looks hopeless, he will continue believing in that one thing, that the bonds between his friends are the strongest weapon of all! Yes, this means that harming his friends will result in a smack down of epic proportion, as evidenced when he handed an awesome one to Vanitas at the end of his story.

But besides all that cherishing bonds and all, Ven is also an easy person to befriend. He considers you a friend within minutes of conversing, and as stated before, he holds his friends high in terms of regard. Speaking of friends, Ven has two very important person in his life, and they are Terra and Aqua, fellow Keyblade Masters who practically helped him out ever since arriving at the Land of Departure. Its also important to note that due to how he views his friends, its not a good idea to harm them in order to provoke him.

A good warning though, Ven has a penchant to be mischievous during certain times. So don't be surprised when you find Terminals being painted white, or a bucket by the door, those standard pranks. But most of the times, he'll not do these things unless he becomes very bored, so be sure to keep him entertained!

…Which is an easy task, considering his easily excitable nature and being an energy ball wherever he goes!

Khalis Corwyn / Aquila (OC/Original World) 1/idek

[identity profile] ancient-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-06-26 02:31 am (UTC)(link)

Player Name: Floogy
Character Name: Khalis Corwyn
Canon: “Aquilonian Life” (Original Universe)

Background:
Khalis Corwyn is the second oldest daughter of four children. The Corwyns are a rather prestigious and well-recognized name, holding important political and military power over the world of Aquila. Khalis, however, is considered something of the black sheep of the family for certain reasons.

She never got along with her oldest sister: Aslynn. This was due to some jealousy issues, since Aslynn would be the next head of the family. The third youngest child, Vargonis, would often try to break up these fights between the two. He tends to take on the role of the mediator in the family. The youngest, nicknamed Sinder, was often quiet and shy.

Khalis attended school like most of her kind, but didn't make many friends during her time learning. She concentrated rather intensely on her studies, hoping to maybe one up her sister at some point and get more recognition. However, Aslynn became something of a pop-star idol as well as a reporter of sorts, earning all sorts of recognition and becoming rather popular. After some time, Khalis stopped caring and just... found a sort of strange focus on money. She found herself taking a job as an insurance salesman of sorts... her methods were perhaps less than honest. Vargonis became both a scientist and, at times, a diplomat. Lastly, Sinder joined the military.

A number of centuries past, their lives filled with the usual petty squabbles and family get togethers every so often; until something changed. A rebellion suddenly erupted near Khalis' home, forcing her to leave her comfort zone. It was by some miracle chance that her youngest sibling, Sinder, was stationed nearby. It was a trial by fire as Khalis was forced to actually fight for the first time, and it was thanks to her youngest sibling's assistance that she was able to make it out alive.

With her livelihood broken, and being rather upset at this turn of events, Khalis took a crash course through the Aquila military. Being from the gifted Corwyn lineage, she took easily to the ways of warfare. This certainly wasn't anything like her petty squabbles with her elder sister, and it didn't help matters much that she had a problem paying attention to her superior officer (perhaps because it was Sinder, more than anything). However, the rebellion soon learned that she was a force to be reckoned with.

The war lasted for about five years, and it was obvious that the rebellion wasn't equipped to deal with the government they aimed to overthrow. By the end, the enemy was soon broken and forced to disperse. It happened so quickly (well, five years isn't really long for an Aquilon, anyway), that there were rumors that the higher ups in the military had staged the incident for the purpose of seizing control of the government themselves. There was never really a leader of the rebellion that had been identified. The only other solution that some figured was that perhaps what was left of the rebellion had fled to one of the floating settlements out on the ocean, biding their time for another strike.

Regardless of the reasons, the government was now militarily controlled and had no intention of handing back control. Despite the change, however, the Corwyn's were still kept in high regard in the political arena. It was thanks to Sinder having secured her position in the military before the takeover that they were able to keep their standing. Wary of the possibility of insurgents possibly seizing offworld colonies should they expand to other worlds, the space program was put on indefinite hold.

With the war over... Khalis went back to selling insurance as well as taking various random jobs.

After some time, Vargonis and his team of scientists stumbled across a tremendous breakthrough; the technology to traverse to a completely different universe. CO, of course, was quick to jump on this before they could interfere with other worlds. Vargonis negotiated with representatives that had come to meet them, and soon the entire world of Aquila became aware of CO's existance.

2/idek

[identity profile] ancient-fiend.livejournal.com 2010-06-26 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Interested in this new development, Khalis opted to join forces with CO. With her family's connections and high standing in their home world, it wasn't hard to have herself instated as an Enforcer. She might have gone so far as being a Councilor if Vargonis hadn't quickly pointed out the paperwork involved and the tedium that she probably wouldn't be able to stand.

Thus, Khalis has been with CO itself for a good deal of centuries. Generally, she hasn't gotten along with her co-workers terribly well (especially when she tries her insurance schemes), as her main interest is earning platinum. She's been to a number of divisions already, and even more worlds...

Setting Information:

Aquila
Aquilonian Life

Ability Changes: Magic is based on a sort of rune system that is either “scribed” on the spot or prepared ahead of time on cards. Those truly gifted can “scribe” their magic in the air.
Ability Limitations: There are little restrictions in magic, technology, and physical prowess other than the adaptation to magical abilities.
Form Restrictions: Basically a “human” appearance. Those cybernetically altered or with a robot body will be unchanged.
Social Restrictions: Though there is generally a good deal of freedom in Aquila, there is a sort of military state that the world is under. Civilians caught with weapons (this includes rune inscribed cards) will be arrested, and generally people have to give a wide berth to military personnel on patrol. Generally, talking bad about the military or any of the ruling families is a social taboo and may even draw unwanted attention.
Notes: Warning: Little girls are older than you. Warning: Don't mess with the military. Warning: Robots may not be giant, but they're still deadly.
Additional Information:
Aquilon's general climate is temperate, featuring a normal and balanced pattern of snowfall and warm/hot summers. Global warming isn't an issue due to their level of technology, allowing them to ensure that the weather is varied enough to ensure no flooding or droughts.

There are only two continents on the whole of the planet, but there is only one language shared amongst its inhabitants.

The landscape has been... generally flattened, allowing the Aquilons to settle in just about on every available piece of land. The few active volcanoes there were had been forcibly rendered inactive. A few more “adventurous” settlements were built out in the ocean, sustaining themselves rather well off the income generated from fishing as well as generally not having to deal with the military government as much as the mainland cities. Farming is generally kept indoors these days in specially designed buildings, and livestock as well. There are a few “national parks” here and there filled with wildlife and the local flora and fauna. Hunting is outlawed altogether.

The technology level is very high, which isn't surprising considering the fact that the whole planet is fully aware of the existence of CO. Although they have the means to colonize other worlds, the government for some time has restricted the use of space travel due to certain concerns on their world. They have food processors, 3D holo-displays with excellent resolution, comfy beds, reliable auto-pilot for their vehicles, the works.

Travel that isn't within walking distance is generally done by air cars, and longer distances (such as to the other continent or one of the floating colonies) either by private or public shuttles. Portal technology and magic for anything but traveling to another universe is strictly prohibited, and even then only designated portals are allowed for authorized individuals. Anybody trying to create a new portal will almost immediately be detected and quickly dealt with.

Generally speaking, the average city is rather reliant on air travel. Most buildings that dot a cityscape are skyscrapers, for domiciles, retail, and work environments. Parking is generally done on a platform jutting out from the level that one wants to visit. There are elevators and stairs inside buildings for emergency use or if the parking for a particular space is filled up. The buildings themselves are generally kept clean and pristine.

Setting Information:

Earth
BlazBlue

Ability Changes: Most powers are derived from Ars Magus, a type of weapon that uses seithr (A substance spread all over the world) as energy. These vary greatly, going from life-sucking blades to guns.

Ability Limitations: You won’t have anyone with world-shattering abilities running around (Even the Black Beast had to spend a lot of time to kill half of humanity), but limitations are fairly lenient.

Form Restrictions: Humans. Beastmen (Many different kinds). Dhampir (Vampires) and Kaka (Cat-people). Physical variations for humans, such as those displayed by Iron Tager, have been shown to exist.

Social Restrictions: -Due to high concentrations of seithr, it is advised to not go out of any of the 23 Hierarchical Cities. However, it’s this overabundance of seithr that has made people favor Ars Magus over scientific development (Since Ars Magus are easy to use, and science is hard ), which has now become almost extinct.
-The Novus Orbis Librarium is, to put it simply, the police-force of BlazBlue’s world. They keep and regulate all information. Most of the people are not fond of the Novus Orbis Librarium (NOL, for short), due to the fact that they are quite protective of the Grimoires (Books that enable people to use Ars Magus). This has earned them the much-despised nickname of ‘Library’. Occassionally, the NOL will issue bounties on certain people. It is not uncommon for freelance bounty hunters (Or ‘vigilantes’) to take them up on these offers.
-Discrimination does exist. Mainly against beastmen.
-The year is 2199. Enjoy that.

Notes: Warning: The wheel of fate is turning. Warning: Watch for ice cars. Warning: Hands off the panda.

Additional Information: In the past, the Black Beast killed a good part of humanity during the Dark War. Fortunately, it was stopped by the Six Heroes, but as a result of the beast’s death, its remains (seithr) were spread all over the world. This resulted in humans having to settle in high elevations, as anything lower than that would cause seithr addiction, along with the body deterioration it eventually causes. The cities created in these locations were known as ‘Hierarchical Cities’. On top of the Hierarchical Cities, one can find the higher classes, as well as the Librarium. These are the headquarters for… Actually, here, have a link. http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/13th_Hierarchical_City_of_Kagutsuchi

Portal Location: Entrance to the hospital Jin was taken to.

Jin Kisaragi 2

[identity profile] albiel-rhodes.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: One can find a fair (If slightly over-simplified) summary of Jin in his official profile. In it, it is stated that he does not value anything, likes being left alone, hates weaklings and enjoys collecting motorcycles (…Yeeeah.) As accurate as this information is, it does not even begin to cover Jin’s personality. Our first introduction to Jin (Assuming you played his story first (I did)) presents him philosophizing on how there’s nothing he really cares about. He was adopted into an immensely prestigious family (and was named next in line to inherit it), given a superb education, and had the opportunity to swiftly advance through the NOL ranks, but he never really cared about any of that. In fact, the first time he expresses any kind of emotion besides ‘calm contempt’ was when he met up with Noel, who managed to amp it up to ‘holy shit gonna kill you’, on account of her looking so much like his sister (More on that later). It’s worth noting that Jin would not act like this under normal conditions (Not with Noel, anyways). His rage was a product of his weapon, Yukianesa, which makes him enter a rage whenever he is faced with her. Fortunately, he’s starting to be able to control it.

Jin’s personality may remain largely unchanged throughout the game, but there are a few characters that are able to drastically change how he behaves. First among these is Ragna, Jin’s brother. You see, when Jin was a kid, he depended on Ragna quite a bit, and he really got attached to the guy. This caused him to develop something of a complex that does not allow him to accept Ragna being with anyone else, not even his sister. Additional events caused him to gain a new goal in life: to kill Ragna. I don’t think it’s ever fully explained why he wants to do this. Probably because of Yukianesa or something. I’ll get back to you when I play Continuum Shift. Anyways, Jin’s personality when faced with Ragna is a combination between ‘murderous intent’ and ‘cheerful little brother’, peppered with a slight seasoning of ‘bat-shit crazy’. As I mentioned before, he’s also prone to going nuts whenever he looks at Noel. It’s not so much on account of Yukianesa influencing him anymore. Now he just hates her because she’s staying with Ragna. Naturally, the first person to make a ‘jealous ex’ joke gets frozen to death.

I don’t think I can elaborate on his relationship with Tsubaki Yayoi properly. Not until Continuum Shift comes out, at least. Still, from what I gather, she is the only person Jin acts (relatively) nice to. This could have something to do with the fact that they were friends at the Military Academy, or the fact that they’re actually related.

Apart from those three, (And Nu, but she’s dead, right?) everyone Jin comes across is seen as an obstacle. He hates those above him out of sheer jealousy and he hates those below him due to their weakness. People really aren’t considered to be living beings by him, and he won’t hesitate to dispose of anyone who gets in his way, no matter their age (He killed Carl in one path) or gender (Noel in another) they are. It’s a testament to how much of a crapsack world Blazblue is that he is not only able to join the military, but has actually acquired the title of ‘Hero’.

Reason for Joining: Let’s see the NOL try to assassinate him here.

Position Desired: Councilor. To be honest, Jin completely fits the role of Enforcer, and I actually hoped to have him get into action constantly, but the character limit seems to impair my ability to do so. Anyways, he’s definitely not ‘Agent’ material, since Jin is the second-highest-ranked character we’ve seen in BlazBlue, and it would make things awkward if we ever got another member of the NOL.

Point in Canon: Right after Calamity Trigger. He just healed from his wounds and has just found out the NOL is after him. I’ll probably update him a couple of months after Continuum Shift comes out.

Saigyougi Yuyuko ----> Touhou Project 1/2

[identity profile] wheebutterflies.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Firefly
Character Name: Saigyougi Yuyuko
Canon: Touhou Project

Background: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Yuyuko_Saigyouji
Setting Information: skip

Portal Location: The garden in Hakugyokurou.

Personality: Yuyuko, despite her tragic past life is quite the cheerful and carefree person; she is also content, but also because of how she is she can be quite hard to deal with if you're someone who takes everything seriously. She loves to tease those type of people (re: Youmu). During conversations, she may be ready to drop a joke here or there or just not take the conversation seriously at all; which is sure to ruffle some feathers. Due to this, she is considered to be extremely easygoing. There's also the fact she doesn't seem to remember even breakfast, but that would just cause others to think it's general forgetfulness. All in all, this makes her quite the friendly person to speak with.

Yuyuko is also a voracious eater, hence why it is common to hear her mention something about food during the middle of a conversation. There is also the fact that she may be a gourmet exhibit the characteristics of being an incredibly random-sounding person because of her choice of words during a conversation may seem to come out of nowhere. It is also said that she may seem to miss the obvious, which causes others to think of her as someone comparable to the average ditz. However, Yuyuko is known to have quite the moments when she reveals that she can be quite insightful and shrewd, showing a lot more intelligence she normally would.

The ghost princess also shows a great amount of restraint, for someone who is dead; after all, usually when someone becomes a ghost they would become at least a little jealous of the living and some take action to curse those that live. Not to mention she has the power to invoke death in mortals. But instead of doing evil things, she does nothing of the sort and simply refuses to use it for irresponsible and cruel reasons. This restraint, along with her responsibility can make her govern over a place like Hakugyokurou. Yuyuko very much enjoys her ghostly life and doesn't regret any single moment of it.

Reason for Joining: Yuyuko loves Gensokyo and friends. Worlds collasping into each other = bad. Therefore aligning with group trying to prevent that = good.

Position Desired: Councilor.

Yuyuko is pretty good at being quite responsible, and she is able to manage a place where the dead sometimes go so I'd see it's a pretty good reason.

Point in Canon: Post-forever *bricked* Post-SWR

Notes: Beware Black Holes.

Catch the game? 52-7, I told Janice in Accounting, I said "those Balthims, they're just not up to snuff this year," but no, she said "I'll bet you 20 plat they're gonna take the banner." Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?:

Oh yes. Everything is, actually.

What inspired you to apply for an Councilor Position?: Many things. Of course, this is the easiest way for me to help.

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: Every single skill I have, of course~

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.:

Go ahead~

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?:

Nope.

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?:

Nope.

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?:

I'm pretty sure I already do.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!:

Well, I'm glad you make that decision. By the way, what kind of food do you serve here?

Player Name: Incardine
Character Name: Noel Vermillion
Canon: BlazBlue

Background: http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/Noel_Vermillion provides partial information on Noel's history, but some detailing/putting-it-all-together-for-convenience is provided here.

Noel is, in fact, the twelfth of 13 (known) clones of Saya (http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/Saya), a girl with unknown special talents - and the little sister of BlazBlue's main characters, Ragna the Bloodedge (http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/Ragna_the_Bloodedge) and Jin Kisaragi (http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/Jin_Kisaragi). US canon (at least) hasn't confirmed why Noel was cloned from Saya, or why thirteen were needed - especially since, at the end of things, Noel turned out to be the complete one, not Nu (http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/%CE%9D-13).

Her creation appears to relate to the main series villain, Terumi Nagai, who kidnapped Saya when she was young and may be responsible for creating the clones. The exact truth of this isn't clear as yet, though... However, it is clear that all of the clones, and the Azure Grimoire (whose true one is in fact part of Noel - both Ragna and Nu, while stated to have it, in fact have false shards).

Things become clearer soon after her creation, when Ikaruga (Noel's "birthplace") was destroyed in a civil war - a war where Jin, not even out of the military academy, we a major hero. She was adopted by the Vermillion noble family, and quickly (completely having no memory to imply her true nature) developing feelings that she was too dependent on them - eventually resulting in her choosing to attend the Military Academy. It is here that she developed close friendships with fellow students Tsubaki Yayoi and the squirrel-like Makoto Nanaya... Along with Jin, who became angrier and angrier around Noel, turning abusive and horrible because of how she reminded him of his sister. It's implied that she became somewhat emotionally dependent on him as a result.

Then, as the end of A.D. 2199 drew near, things began to become weird. The criminal, "Ragna the Bloodedge", was spotted in the city of Kagutuschi, and now-Major Jin Kisaragi chose to abandon his post to try and face his brother. Noel received orders to find Jin and make him return to his post - forcefully if necessary. She was to be assisted by Intelligence Captain Hazama (actually Terumi in disguise).

[identity profile] handsonthepanda.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)

This event happened several hundred times, due to the time loop. Most times, it ended badly for Noel - either resulting in her getting forced into cosplays by the drunken scientist, Litchi Faye-Ling, or encountering v-13 (AKA "Nu"), another Saya clone. Whenever the two met, Noel went into an automated, robot-like mode, and the two would fight - invariably ending in either Noel or Nu grabbing Ragna (who would inevitably show up) and pulling him into one of the black cauldrons, bringing them back in time in the form of the Black Beast (and destroying the timeline they'd been through in the process). The only two people to know of the loop during it's occurrence were the vampire, Rachel Alucard, and Terumi himself.

This pattern finally broke with, essentially, pure luck - Nu faced Ragna, and ultimately won, grabbing him to pull him into the cauldron... But at the last possible second, Noel grabbed Ragna, proving that she had the true Azure Grimoire, causing Nu to be destroyed, breaking the loop. (Unfortunately, it seemed that looking at Terumi right after this somehow gave him some sort of power... Exactly what, isn't yet clear.)

As of now, she's officially on the run, and Hazama has had a death warrant placed on both her and Jin. How this will end up is not yet clear - nor relevant just yet, as this Noel comes from right after the true ending.

Kouji Kabuto1/2

[identity profile] koji-never-dies.livejournal.com 2010-07-01 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Ash Blaze
Personal LJ: [livejournal.com profile] ashs_stash
Contact Info: HyprKnux1 (AIM)
Character Name: Kouji Kabuto
Canon: Mazinkaiser (OVAs)

Background: Not much is known about Kouji's past prior to the start of the OVAs. It can be assumed that it's the same as the Mazinger-Z mangas to a point: Kouji, living with his brother Shiro and grandfather Juuzo, discovers and obtains his grandfather's legacy - the super robot Mazinger-Z - before the Juuzo passed on from an injury caused by an earthquake. Going on an accidental rampage, Kouji's saved by Sayaka Yumi, a pilot for the Photon Power Labs, and her machine, the Aphrodite Ace. When the Photon Power Labs itself are attacked, Kouji aids Sayaka in defending it and, in time, would become the main defense against the mad scientist Dr. Hell and his half-male, half-female assistant Baron Ashura. As well, Kouji would gain the help of others, including gang leader Boss and his Boss Borot and Tetsuya Tsurugi and Mazinger-Z's brother unit, the Great Mazinger.

As for the rest of the story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazinkaiser

Setting Information: Kouji's Earth is the same as other Earths. It's only main difference is its advancement of science. Giant robots aren't an uncommon sight. Not only are there the major machines of that universe (Mazinkaiser, Great Mazinger, Venus A, Boss Borot), but there's also the Mazinger Army, a series of Mass Produced machines that utilize one of Mazinger-Z's old attacks (one uses Photon Beam, another uses Rust Hurricane, another uses Breat Fire). As well, Photonic Energy is a virtually common thing, now being used as a new power source.

Portal Location: Outside the Photon Power Plant, the pool that Mazinger-Z and Mazinkaiser are docked in.

Personality: Kouji is the basis of what every other Super Robot pilot is based off of. Hot-blooded to a point, he refuses to let any injustice slip past him and will barge into anything head first. He's chivalrous to a point, willing to stand up to anybody and everybody, no matter the danger, weither its still being unable to control Mazinkaiser or if his life is in peril.

Despite this, he's your typical seventeen year old boy. He'll run his mouth off or do something without thinking through with what he's done. Most of those incidents have been around Sayaka and usually involve other girls, much to her chagrin. He should know better - when he pissed off Sayaka when he applied suntan lotion onto one of the Photon Power Plant's assistants during a beach trip, she splashed him with soda, then had Venus Ace take Mazinkaiser and turn it UPSIDE DOWN in the ocean! He's also been known to a bit sexist, especially when it comes to girls and fighting on the battlefield.

Beyond that, however, he's actually bright when he can think things through. That includes being able to fight off a set of robot assassins long enough to be saved by the Kaiser Pilder and using an exercise tool as a makeshit steering wheel. He's also been shown to be a crack shot at that, cleaving one of the affore mentioned robot assassins with a laser shot from the Kaiser Pilder, to shooting down a thrown weapon by Dr. Hell to even killing a monster with a headshot.

Reason for Joining: Despite the peace he's been offered after defeating Dr. Hell, he isn't one to back down when danger rears his ugly head. And this? This is danger that needs to be put down in anyway possible... even if there's some odd side stuff he has to do.

Position Desired: Agent
