Application

Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.

-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:

1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.

If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.

-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.

Ignore that. I've had too much caffeine. Now. It's been a while since I've played on livejournal, so I'm rusty. I wrote up this ginormous app for another game around here, but I had to drop out due to RL crap. Now... I know a couple people here, I think, so I'm happy to try this one out. And some people might recognize this character a bit, but I try to be creative and mix it up a little, so please take all this with a grain of salt.

Also, I don't think this is quite in the order you wanted it in. If I need to, I'll chop it up and see how I can stick it back together. We'll see. But for now, I'm going to toss this at you and see what sticks. Cool? Thought so.

Background: Gabriel was born in Somerset, England in 1950, grew up with his parents. His mother a music teacher and his father owned a shoe shop. His father died of cancer when he was 14 leaving him, his mother and his younger brother Ezekiel alone. His mother took over the shop, and the brothers worked there until they were old enough to move out. Gabriel ended up going to college to study photography and journalism and Zeke disappeared, ending up in Australia.

Gabriel met his wife-to-be, Sheila Larke, while in college, and they were married after graduation. They moved to New York where Gabriel found a job at a newspaper as a photojournalist, and Sheila taught English at the Middle School there. When Gabriel was 24, his mutant abilities manifested for the first time. He had been dreaming of walking across his bedroom, and when he awoke he was standing at the foot of his bed, watching himself sleep.

At this time, mutants were just starting to crop up. They were mostly met with fear; the public didn't understand them, and the unfortunate kid who accidentally set his house on fire, killing his entire family because he happened to be able to turn himself into a living torch, was not helping matters. The government stepped in quickly, requiring hospitals, clinics and physicians to perform mandatory blood tests on all patients to check for the mutant gene. Those that were identified as positive were sent to designated specialized 'clinics' for further testing and review. Many of these people were never seen again, the official word being that they either committed suicide, attacked staff or innocents and had to be fatally 'subdued', or died from some sort of complication due to their horrible mutations. People didn't question these practices--it made them feel safe to keep the unpredictable mutants off the streets.

Gabriel was very lucky--he learned early and he stayed away from any medical establishments for several years, fearing being taken. He had built what was to be the beginning of a very promising career, gaining noteriety for his photographs in several major newspapers and magazines across the country. But hiding wasn't sitting well with him. His opportunity came when he heard of an organization that helped mutants to stay safe, get medical attention without fear of being reported, and for those that didn't have a prayer of hiding what they were finding a safe location to live. It wasn't perfect, but it was a start. Gabriel jumped at the chance, and Sheila also got involved. They both volunteered for the soon-to-be-named Mutant Underground, taking their name from the Underground Railroad that helped the slaves in the South a century prior.

When he was thirty one he and Sheila had their only child, a baby girl named Savannah. Sheila cut back her involvement in the Underground to take care of the newborn, and Gabriel threw himself further into his work. During the day he officially documented the news and issues around the city. During the night and on weekends he used his camera to document atrocities against mutants by police, civilians, and government officials. They were published in various underground newspapers and pamphlets that circulated amongst mutants and supportive non-mutants alike. The name attached to his work was 'Greyhand', the name he would eventually take when working for the Underground. He would gain more so called fame under this name than his own.

Raids on safe houses and clinics were common; volunteers learned to defend themselves, and they made sure to provide reliable escape routes and instructions to all that came through. Mortality and captures were still unfortunately high. Yet the public started to ease when it came to the mutant population as more and more information surfaced. That was until Erik Lensherr and his Brotherhood of Mutants emerged.

Lensherr's ideals were simple. Humans feared and despised mutants. Mutants were the next step in the evolutionary chain. Therefore, they needed to seize control from those who tried to harm them, to eradicate them. They deserved their place as superior beings. Disgruntled young mutants flocked to him, promising their allegiance. In return he promised them the retribution they so longed for and protection from those who wanted to harm them.

Canon: Live A Live

Background: Since the start of Oersted's life, he has been taught to live a just life filled with morality. He believed that if he got along with other people, they would treat him mutually. For a long while, this method worked. Oersted lived a long part of his childhood treating others well, but he wanted to go a step farther than that. For his friends and loved ones, he would be willing to protect them by wielding a sword. As a boy of strong, moral fiber, Oersted decided early on that this is how he would spend his life: as a knight.

He has a friend named Straybow who did not decide to take up a sword, but the staff. While going down decidedly different paths, the two would help one another train. By fighting Straybow, Oersted would become used to handling magic-users while Straybow would become accustomed to taking on physically-inclined combatants. While the two often competed, Oersted would always come out on top with Straybow coming out second. Regardless, the two remained close friends and would continue to be so until the day of the Lucretia Battle Tournament.

The king of Lucretia held a tournament where the winner would be able to marry Princess Alicia. Both Straybow and Oersted joined and made it to the semi-finals where they faced off against one another. As always, Oersted took the lead and Straybow graciously backed off. Oersted would soon marry Alicia and during the night before the wedding, the two stood outside at night on the castle balcony and shared a kiss. Just then, an avian demon flew into the scene and kidnapped Alicia, taking her to the Forbidden Land where the Demon King, once thought to be dead, makes his domain.

Oersted takes off on a journey to rescue the princess. He is joined by Straybow and along their journey, they find the two missing heroes that defeated the Demon King prior to recent events: Uranus, the priest, and Hash, the knight. The two hid themselves after seeing how people were quick to ignore them despite their deeds. They join with one another and venture into the Forbidden Land, where after fighting legions of demons, they find their king. Hash dies in the process of the battle and before the last three could find Alicia, the cave starts closing in on them. Straybow helps Oersted and Uranus escape, but is caught by the cave-in.

Returning back to the kingdom, Oersted and Uranus rest after a grueling fight. At night, while in bed, Oersted saw who might've been Straybow and follows him to the throne room. There, he sees the Demon King, still alive and well. Oersted attacks the Demon King only to find that he is actually Lucretia's king under an illusion. The knights witness what Oersted had done and word spreads across the kingdom of the once fair knight's betrayal. He and Uranus are both captured and scheduled for execution. While in prison, Uranus tells Oersted “as long as there is still one person who believes in you...”. Even in this desperate time, Oersted clings to those words and ventures back to the Forbidden Land to rescue the princess and settle this ordeal once and for all.

After reaching the mountain's peak, Oersted finds not only a statue of the Demon King, but Straybow as well. Straybow reveals that he planned for Oersted's fall out of jealousy for his success. It was Oersted who always received recognition by people while Straybow was left to follow in his shadow. The two fight and the prior wins and kills his once-best friend. Alicia comes out of a hidden room inside the statue and finds Straybow dead. She admits her love for Straybow and curses Oersted for not trying to rescue her. Alicia kills herself in front of Oersted. With that, there is nobody in the world who believes in him. Succumbing to hatred, Oersted declares that if the entire world wishes to see him as a demon, that is exactly what he will be. He takes on the title of Demon King and changes his name to Odio before using his newfound demonic powers to slaughtering the entire kingdom.

In order to test humanity, Odio sends incarnations of himself into various time periods to spark further hatred. He then called together all the heroes who were able to vanquish him in their time periods for one last struggle in the altered Middle Ages. The heroes band together and just as Oersted had, ventured into the Forbidden Land to challenge Odio. Odio questions the heroes about their reasons for struggling and whether or not saving humanity truly has any worth. After all words have been said, the final battle began where Odio used all of his demonic powers to call forth oblivion. He loses, however, and asks the heroes to kill him, to which they decline. Unsatisfied with this ending, Odio, once again, calls his incarnations to fight the heroes once more, but loses. The Demon King proceeds to disappear with his final defeat.

Canon: Live-a-Live

Background: Background: Note that while there is no one true canon as far as the Kung Fu Chapter goes, Li is most likely not intended to be the canonical inheritor. Though technically, the game does not specifically state which of the three pupils actually inherits the art of Xin Shan Quan, the game itself leans heavily towards the weak, young pupil, Yuan (and in Touhou-a-Live, he's seen as the master, but obviously that's not canon at all). However, that does not make Li being the inheritor NOT canon, either, and as the only potential female character for the endgame, she is a popular choice.

Li's history prior to her training with the Xin Shan Quan master is a mystery. The brief nature of Live a Live's chapter system rarely allows for much backstory for its characters. It's safe to say she was probably an orphan who had to scrape her way through life, considering when she's met, she lived in the bamboo forest by herself with no obvious support. It was here where she met the master of the dying kung fu art form of Xin Shan Quan and, after a failed mugging and thorough butt-kicking, accepted his offer to become one of his pupils, if only so she could "kick his ass someday."

She was joined by two other pupils, Sammo and Yuan; of the three, Li was by far the fastest, and definitely the hottest-blooded. For days, the three trained together, and in spite of herself Li began to develop a sense of loyalty to her master, and a sense of kinship among her fellow students. This happy life was short-lived, however; one day while the master was pulled away to deal with an incident in town, the followers of the Yi Po Men style of kung fu, sent by the evil Odi Wang Lee, came, destroyed the dojo, and killed the other two pupils, leaving only Li as a survivor. Mournfully, the master and the pupil buried her companions, and in the moment that followed, the master chose to teach Li the ultimate technique: Xuan Ya Lian Shan Quan. They trained once more, and the master departed, presumably to "pray for the souls" of the deceased. But Li was savvy enough to realize there was more to it than that, and intercepted her master -- as he was on his way to take revenge on the school that had murdered his pupils. She insisted on going with him. He agreed.

The pair stormed the Yi Po Men dojo, taking down its pupils one by one, until they finally reached the Great Hall. Awaiting them was Odi Wan Lee himself, surrounded by his strongest pupils. They took them down, but Odi Wan Lee pulled a final ace, sending out two masters of a killer form of kung fu against them. The master decided to take them on himself -- but not before tasking Li with taking down Odi Wan Lee herself. Reminded of her master's teachings, she employed the ultimate technique against Lee, defeating him in a stunning final blow that sent him hurtling through his own throne and into the gong behind -- a death knell, if you will. But the battle had its price -- the master was utterly exhausted. Dying, he told Li that he was proud of how she'd grown, and how he felt she would be worthy of passing down his techniques. With a final promise to "deliver the message," he perished, leaving Li the true master of Xin Shan Quan.

And normally, this would be the end of the tale.

However, in the midst of what someone fourth wall savvy would consider her "ending," as she paid final tribute to her departed compatriots, the sky grew dark, and a mysterious, bone-chilling voice echoed through the air:

"It's time... You, who gained motivation... To the ones who still embrace their delusions of humanity... I invite you... to learn the truth..."

Suddenly, she found herself in a dark void. As she wandered aimlessly, angry and yet fearful of her strange new location, breaks in the darkness showed visions of strange, far off things -- weird buildings, strange devices, the past, the future. And when she found a way out of the void, she found herself at the top of yet another mountain, in front of a gravestone with a sword lying in a shallow hole in front of it. This new world she was in was once a majestic kingdom -- but little life remained. It was as if the soul of the world had been sucked out. And in the midst of it all, a sinister mountain, visible from where she first arrived in this terrible new place, called to her.

She explored, however. And as she did, she found six others who were in the same straits as she was. She teamed up with these other lost souls and, together, they headed to the demon's mountain, where the Demon King Odio -- once known as the knight Oersted, but who had washed his humanity away as he sunk into the depths of despair -- awaited them. His goal: To "educate" the heroes on the selfishness of humanity, only taking from heroes, never giving. Also, he desired to know why they fought on for such a weak, pitiful species. Was it for her master...?

Li's response: "Yeah? So what?"

Odio, displeased with the answer, sought to finish off Li and her party, but together she, the caveman Pogo, the ninja Oboro, and the robot cube were able to put him down for the count. He reverted to his original form, that of Oersted, and demanded that she finish him. And in her previous life, Li might have complied; with the new-found discipline and respect for life that she had found under her master, however, she refused.

Oersted made one final attempt to gain victory, forcing the heroes to relive their greatest battles from their eras. Hatred, he said, was the recurring emotion of humanity, and this was his final bid to make the heroes see the light. It was a desperate move fated to failure; at this point, they were all far stronger than they had been prior to meeting the villains, and were more than a match for them. Oersted, frustrated, asked why he couldn't win; Li, feeling sorry for him, responded.

"You remind me so much of myself... I used to envy people the way you do! But... But that's wrong! Just because you want something doesn't mean you'll get it! But if you perservere, you will get what you want in the end, I think... So long as you do your best and don't give up, you'll succeed! Just don't give up... I... that's all I have to say..."

Oersted, realizing how much he had given up, died with this knowledge, but not before delivering one last warning: That as long as hatred existed in humanity, anybody could become a Demon King. And as he perished, each hero returned to his -- or her -- rightful time and place.

Li did too, long enough to establish a school. Too bad good things don't always last.

Personality:
Mikan is a bright, cheerful girl. Oh, and by 'bright', I mean she lights up the room. She's not particularly smart. Like the nickname of the state whose fruit bears her name, Mikan brings light into a room, or wherever she is. Multiple times in the series, she's described as the "light" in the darkness not only of the school, but in specific characters' lives as well.

Mikan is extremely loyal to her friends. And once you're her friend, she'll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you need something, she'll do her best to get it for you. And if she thinks you're in trouble, she'll do everything within her power to help you.

That's not to say, of course, that Mikan'll bend over backwards for people. She knows how to stand up for herself, and she can get upset and fuss just like any child. She doesn't necessarily hold grudges, but she can stay mad until she cools down and forgives you. Combine that with her stubbornness, and you might have a problem on your hands.

Mikan's still got her share of insecurities, though. Because her Alice can’t be ‘shown off’ and is primarily defensive, she often feels that her Alice isn’t as good as other peoples’. And initially being told that the Special Abilities class was the ‘leftovers’ from the three main classes didn’t help, either. However, she’s still stubborn, and that just gets her wanting to prove that she’s not useless and that her Alice is just as good as everyone else’s.

Abilities and Powers:
Mikan holds the Nullification Alice, which means she can negate other abilities. She still has a low-level of control of it at this point, so it’s mainly negating attacks against her, or someone she wants to protect. With training, however, she would be able to null someone’s ability willfully and for unknown lengths of time.

Mikan also holds the Stealing Alice and Insertion Alice. The Stealing Alice lets her take someone’s powers, in the form of an Alice Stone (a solid representative of their powers). She can take them via physical touch, both from the person themselves, or, in the case of a parasitic or infective power, from an infected person. Mikan’s powers, being unrefined, cannot permanently steal the powers (the powers will recover on their own, though the Stone will still exist), though the potential is theoretically there. The Insertion Alice works with the Stealing Alice, and Alice Stones (both stolen or created by the Alice’s owner) can be inserted into a compatible person, allowing them to use the power held in the Alice Stone until the stone is worn out. It is of note, however, that using an ability you do not know how to use or are used to can wear a person out, or even injure them.

Personality: Chris Ramirez is first of all, a soldier through and through. He is someone who has no problem taking orders from people regardless of age or gender or anything else. He does hoever have trouble giving orders if he was put in such a situation. Being from a family of marines through four generations, has given Chris a bit of no confidance in his own abilities and has given serious doubts about himself. Generally soft-spoken, he rarely speaks his mind about subjects unless questioned. He considers his asthma a liability of himself on the battlefield. That isn't to say he's not brave. On the contrary, he has no fear of battle when he becomes Kamen Rider Sting and is a tad reckless when confronted by enemies. He tends to look last and act first, and considers how people act to be the most important thing when judging others.

He tends to jump the gun sometimes, and when he deals with other military types like his father, he'll rather meekly fall in line. He is rather intimidated by large problems as he can get rather stubborn when he thinks he's right. Chris is very loyal when you get to know him, and he trusts what few friends he has completely. He's also a bit naive and innocent when it comes to military figures like his father or when Xaviax posed as a government officer, in his eyes they can do no wrong. Not surprising when he has been trained in the marines and this has likely been hammered into him throughout his life.

Called the “Fool of Owari” from the start and an idiot, nobody believed that Nobunaga Oda of young would amount to anything. His actions were disgraceful at best and he showed little respect for his superiors, elders, or anybody else altogether. Nobunaga cared little for the world around him and deeply doubted the causes of the Oda family in general. In the era of the warring states, where there were myriad forces attempting to fight for dominance over their own land, it all seemed like a futile gesture. The spark that lead the Fool of Owari to become the new Devil King was not a single event, but a series of them: 1) the death of his father, 2) the suicide of a retainer, and 3) his two brothers' treason.

Obtaining power meant that all he would do is sustain these days of war at the cost of numerous lives, but his retainer's suicide pushed Nobunaga towards the path of conquest. He died solely for the sake of undoing his antics. During all this time, Nobunaga understood people very little and did not care to learn more about them. He believed them to be a stupid lot undeserving of respect, but with his retainer taking his life, Nobunaga was exposed to a mass surge of emotions. The retainer left a suicide note telling Nobunaga to mend his ways, but also to end his own life. The young warlord has never stared death as closely in the eyes before. He slowly started to change his ways, but still, he did not wish to continue living while fighting a series of endless battles in his own nation.

As he attempted to unify the family, his two brothers rebelled against him. This event solidified everything that Nobunaga believed in the present day. Capturing his younger brother, Nobuyuki, the once-”Fool of Owari” executed him while sparing all the others. Even in his own ranks or wherever else, this age is all about fighting for dominance. It is a cutthroat age that no warlord can ever survive in without closing his heart. From that point on, Nobunaga decided to end the age of war and unify the lands by becoming the Devil King of the Sixth Heaven. His reputation for his aggression became famous all across the lands and it was partly for this reason that he was able to get as far as he did. Nobunaga was no longer a human, but a true devil.

The following decades showed a series of bloodbath one after another. Nobunaga used all manners of treachery to defeat his enemies and spared nobody in battle, including the innocents, in his path to conquest. He started viewing everybody as potential enemies including those close to him. His final act of malevolence was the death of Hatano Hideharu, a man that general Akechi Mitsuhide promised the safety of after capture. Mitsuhide challenged Nobunaga and successfully killed him in Honnoji, ending all further ambitions of the man. The devil king's last words before his death was merely “So it goes”.

Following his death, Nobunaga's soul entered the Throne of Heroes. While a devil, he became one so that nobody else would. With little in hand, he turned the tides of war and hastened the end of the bloody Sengoku Era despite his cruel actions. Nobunaga accomplished exactly what he had wanted, but feels unsatisfied with this goal regardless. A permeating feeling of emptiness has long filled the man since the start of his campaigns and it grew even larger by Mitsuhide's betrayal. What was missing in Nobunaga's goals? As a Servant, it is his wish to answer this.

By the time the third Holy Grail War had started in Fuyuki City, the Tohsaka family was a small one and easily the weakest out of the three houses. The first head, Tohsaka Nagato, was not much of an exceptional magus. He worked on improving Jewel Magecraft, but family members till the present day have yet to master it. Masuhiro Tohsaka, the new head of the family during the 1940's, entered the third Holy Grail War with a single wish in mind: achieving unity in this turbulent age and the future to come. He has little support from the rest of his family for his “altruistic” and unrealistic goals, but regardless, he entered the war by summoning Archer, or Oda Nobunaga.

Fate/Stay Night (AU Nasuverse)

Ability Changes: Abilities will come in the form of spell-casting powers, each Magus has a specialty of some kind (Shirou is 'swords' and Rin's is 'gems'). Servants are in a field of their own, corresponding to seven classes, and each individual servant has a powerful attack called a Noble Phantasm that is tied to their history. Vampires are vampires, demons are demons, but not without specific limitations unique to the Nasuverse.
Ability Limitations: Moderate, while Servant's Noble Phantasms are Earth-shattering, most Magus cannot create mass destruction without storing up their magic for a long time to unleash, and there is only one thing in the entire world that is earth-shattering. On the flipside Vampires, demons, and the undead will need an extensive supply of mana to be able to function; most monster-types must suck blood as a result.
Form Restrictions: Human, and servant only under very exact circumstances (TBA), Vampires will remain vampires, only with very Nasuverse-like attributes. The same goes for demons and other assorted non-humans. Consult the Wikia for specifics.
Social Restrictions: Magus are regulated by the Magic Association, who crack down heavily on overt displays of power and careless involvement of civilians in Magical wars. Supernatural creatures (such as vampires, demons, the undead) are hunted down and eliminated by the Church, so non-humans should try to keep a low profile.

The current timeline the AU is set is during World War II Japan, so aside from the Magic Association and the Church, the military has a heavy watch over certain places of the city. Foreigners are not welcomed as much socially, which would put certain parties like the Edelfelts or other visiting magi in danger should they ever reveal themselves.
Notes: Watch out for a panty-stealing, medieval magician and a horseback rider who thinks windmills are dragons.

Mackenzie | Touch Detective | Part II

Personality: In the world of Touch Detective, there is no such thing as 'normal'. Instead, let's go with the term 'straight man'. Mackenzie is the One Sane Girl in the odd, sometimes downright crazy world of Touch Detective. She's often the foil to her best friends, spacey-yet-kind Penelope and gullible, over-energetic Chloe. She will usually be the first to get exasperated with the antics around her, often sighing and shaking her head. To her credit, this is a rather calm reaction, considering all the strangeness around her. However, she is still a kid, and is prone to the normal pranks and tomfoolery for someone her age.

When it comes to being a detective, Mackenzie's attitude towards her work can be almost lackadaisical to the casual observer. She rarely changes her expression, unless something truly captures her attention or surprises her. One guaranteed way to capture her attention is with something that is cute. She has a great fondness for cute things, like teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Her number one source of all that embodies cute is her pet mushroom, Funghi, who always follows her around (and has a bottomless pit for a stomach). She also enjoys to pet him, which ties into her main obsession: touching things. She frequently touches objects (both non-living and alive), and adds them to her Touch List, a journal cataloging her findings. This is how she got her title; her butler sent her Touch List to the great Detective Society by mistake, giving her the name 'Touch Detective'. Though Mackenzie thinks the title is lame, she still continues her hobby. It's akin to a compulsion; for example, she couldn't resist touching a fluffy bunny-like creature that could have easily bitten her hand off.

Mackenzie became a detective through family; after her father died, the detective office and occupation was passed on to her. Despite her attitude, she never quits a case once she starts investigating, and can become quietly stubborn when people lie to her face or try to hide details from her (including her best friends). She's not easily fooled, often calling out the adults on their lies through the use of evidence or the fact its too ridiculous to be believed, even for her world. Of course, this doesn't stop her from playing along with Chloe when she attempted to summon an angel.

Despite these good traits, Mackenzie is by no means unable to be annoyed. The number one way to get under her skin is to not take her seriously as a detective due to her age. Even after she's recognized by the Society, she still continually runs into people who claim she's playing a game. This, naturally, sends her silently fuming, and makes her all the more determined to solve her current case as a result. It helps that she has the moral support (in the loosest sense of the term) of her friends and butler, but it's still her number one annoyance.

Abilities and Powers: Mackenzie's main skills lie in her deductive reasoning and her investigation skills. Her ability to tell when someone's lying can also fall under this category. She has no superhuman or otherworldly abilities.

Reason for Joining: New worlds means new things to touch. Mackenzie's interest? Gained.

Background:
The two Mokona=Modoki (btw, the counter for Mokona is “Mokona”, not the counter used for small animals) were created by Clow Reed and Yuuko, based upon the “Creator” they had encountered. The two of them were created in preparation for what would come, and to stop the plans of Fei Wang Reed. The day after they were created and named, Clow and Yuuko gave them each a ‘gift’ of an earring. To the white Mokona, whom was named Soel (from the rune ‘Sigil’, meaning ‘sun’), a gold earring with a red stone was given, which was a magical stone. To the black Mokona, whom was named Larg (from the rune ‘Lagu’, meaning water), a silver earring with a blue stone was given, which was a sealing stone. They didn’t know what these stones were for, but Clow and Yuuko said that they didn’t need to understand, but that they would know what they were for and how to use them when the time came.

For the first year of their life, Larg and Soel lived with Yuuko, although they often visited Clow’s house, and played with Kerberos and Yue. When they would go to Clow’s house, Clow and Yuuko would also teach them many things, about the world, and about their abilities, like how they could communicate with each other even while they weren’t near each other. Sometimes they would go off on their own and Clow and Yuuko would have to find them and bring them back, but they would pet the Mokona, so the Mokona were always happy. Once, they even met a cat-shaped alien, and got to go to her ship and see everything. They were very amused that the alien thought that Clow and Yuuko were aliens, too.

However, just after they get to see their first Sakura blossoms, they start to get very sleepy, and fall into a deep sleep…

When they awaken, they find themselves being carried by a boy who wears glasses like Clow, but isn’t Clow. He takes them to Yuuko, who is in the yard of her shop with a group of people. And for the first time in their lives, the Mokona are separated for more than a short amount of time. Soel is given to the people, while Larg remains behind with Yuuko and the boy.

The boy, Larg learns quickly, is named Watanuki, and is a part-timer at Yuuko’s shop, who can see ghosts and spirits. He is also a very skilled chef, which Larg loves. He often teases Watanuki along with Yuuko, as well as tormenting Watanuki with demands for snacks and booze.

However, Larg also obviously cares deeply for Watanuki, and tries to help him in whatever way he can, although it’s usually more of an annoyance to Watanuki at the time, even if he changes his mind later.

When Yuuko goes somewhere, she usually takes Larg with her, and when Watanuki needs protection that Doumeki can’t provide, she sends Larg with him, since Larg can leave the shop at will, unlike Maru and Moro, who cannot leave at all.

Personality:
To think about Larg’s personality, one must first picture a cat. Looking at the cat, especially in its kitten years, it is cute and fuzzy, full of energy, and endlessly curious. Yet still, especially as it gets older, it is frighteningly smart. This is Larg.

Like his twin, Larg is very bouncy and excitable, though not quite as much. This bounciness and excitability only increases if something he likes is around, or if there’s fun to be had. Scratch that. Especially if there’s fun to be had. Despite his power and wisdom, Larg is very much a child, and acts in childish ways.

One of Larg’s favorite things is to play with people. He is extremely positive and friendly, and he loves being around people, especially if they pet him. He cares deeply for those he’s close to, especially Yuuko, and worries and frets if there’s nothing he can do to help them.

When someone’s close to Larg, however, they’ll notice that a few of Yuuko’s traits have rubbed off on her ‘drinking buddy’. An… overzealous love of alcohol is one of these. Another is trolling. It’s mainly kept to Watanuki, although if Soel and the Tsubasa crew are visiting, Larg joins Soel in the trolling of Kurogane, as well (and Soel helps troll Watanuki). It’s not mean-spirited trolling, just having fun, probably closer to good-natured teasing than actual trolling.

If Larg doesn’t get his way, especially when food is involved, he works to correct that. Often it’s by either whining and pleading, or by throwing a temper tantrum, until Watanuki the other person gives in. This isn’t to say, however, that Larg is a spoiled, selfish brat, he just knows how to wheedle what he wants out of Watanuki people. Well, and he is a bit spoiled.

One thing that especially upsets Larg is being referred to indirectly when he’s there, with indirect references and pronouns.

Abilities and Powers:
Soel has (or at least claims to have) 108 “special abilities”. Given that they were created the same, it is likely that Larg has the same amount of abilities as Soel does, although they are not necessarily the same. Powers-wise, we know that Larg can speak with Soel, as well as projecting from his forehead jewel whatever Soel is seeing, as well as sharing dreams with Soel. He can also absorb an enormous amount of things in his mouth of holding, to either send to Soel, or to keep for later use. He can also receive items from Soel, and bring back out things he has taken in. On at least one occasion, Larg has compressed a large number of spirits into a solid ball, which later had the power to break a magical barrier. One thing that Soel cannot that Larg can, is see ghosts.

Non-magically, Larg knows how to play chess, can knit, and has good penmanship. He also has the ability to drink to excess without getting drunk (he does live with Yuuko, after all).

Reason for Joining: Fun, of course. That, and Yuuko told him he should.

Portal Location: The Shining X, the former location of the Isle of the Ancients

Personality: It is said that in the World of Trophies, the only real thing that a Trophy does is fight. Fight until they fall only to be resurrected and fight again. That's not entirely true. A lot of the Trophies are very sentinent and will talk and interact like a normal person. Kirby is one of those.

Child-like and innocent, Kirby isn't one for all-out fighting. He's the kind of creature who'd rather be laid back and enjoy life as is. He enjoys eating (anything, really, but he prefers sweets) and is usually seen lounging around when not on adventures. He doesn't seem to hold grudges on many people, thus he's willing to forgive them or even befriend them, even if they don't want to. Like King Dedede.

Despite that, Kirby isn't one to let someone get away with horrible misdeeds. Despite his child-like attitude, he has a strong sense of justice and will go to great lengths to correct wrongs. However, Kirby tends to get too caught up into these things and will ignore certain pleas. As well, some of Kirby's quests have been due to more simplistic and childish incidents (like having dessert stolen from him)

As well, Kirby can easily get distracted from his initial goal. Thanks to his child-like innocence, Kirby'll easily turn his attention to something that interests him more. Thankfully, it's pretty easy to get him back into the swing of things with a quick reminder.

Abilities and Powers: The game Kirby and the Amazing Mirror lists Kirby's ability here as "Smash". The Smash moveset allows Kirby to use attacks from a handful of his abilities. Physically, he uses attacks from Fighter, Yo-Yo, Ninja and suplex. His special attacks utilize the Cutter, Hammer, and Stone abilities.

Beyond that, Kirby can inhale a bunch of air, allowing him to inflate his body many times his size and fly.

Kirby's main ability is known as Inhale. With it, he can inhale anything in his mouth, though the main ability comes when he swallows. Eating a certain creature, item or fighter will allow Kirby to copy that ability for him to use. When copying a named character, he gains a special cap of that person's hat or hair and ability from that person. This ability isn't permanent and can be ejected or lost by powerful hits. I'll set up a permission post as to what Kirby can or cannot copy and what they'd get from them.

His "Final Smash" is the Kirby Cook, which inhales opponents into a crock pot, cooks them and spits them (and a bunch of life-restoring foods) out.

Kirby can also summon Warp Stars, star-shaped platforms that allow him to travel great distances. He can't land them, though, blowing them up as he lands.

Reason for Joining: A combination of his usual curiosity and, after the Subspace Army incident, a desire to make sure it never happened to another world.

Canon: Sound Horizon: Prelude to Elysion

Background: Perpetual poverty and everlasting winter best describes the world that Abyss lives in. His home, worn out and beyond repair, lies in the middle of a snowy forest. There is a city that lays a little ways away, but the social system and incredible taxes make it impossible for him to make a decent living. Those who are poor will forever remain poor. Abyss, since childhood, has learned to fend for himself, close his emotions, and perform just about any work that was able to get him incredible sums of money in little time. Of course, most of these jobs are as a hired goon or assassin for noblemen.

He needed the money to sustain not only his life, but that of his daughter, Elyce. Elyce is a little girl at the age of about six. She is ill with a disease that stems from her poor living conditions and Abyss is completely aware of this. He is also aware, however, that nothing can be done. For one, if he handed her daughter to a doctor, anybody who wanted vengeance could easily find him. Handing El over to the doctors would only endanger her life more than the disease. Instead, Abyss spent his money on ways to keep El happy. As expensive as picture books were, he continued buying them whenever he could to sustain his daughter's fantasy world. The man knew that in time, El would die, but he wanted to believe that there is a Paradise waiting for her after death. If such a thing didn't exist, the masked man would create it for her with his two hands.

Abyss' last job was given by the Count de Saint-Laurent. His daughter, Loraine de Saint-Laurent, had run off with one of the servants to avoid her arranged marriage. Beating Loraine to her boat, the masked man posed as the ferryman. Once the boat left land, Abyss grabbed the servant, slit his throat, and pushed him into the sea just before taking Loraine back to the Count. Taking his reward, Abyss left and days later, Loraine, who had ran away once again, found and killed him. The masked man struggled to return home to his daughter, El. Dragging himself all the way into his forest of everlasting winter, Abyss returned home to be greeted by his daughter and her usual questions of stories and Paradise.

Abyss had perished after returning, but Elyce hadn't noticed at all. Without understanding death, Elyce continued waiting for her papa, slowly sinking into madness all the while. Eventually, she died as well. From this point on, Abyss' spirit wandered from one time period to another, looking for his daughter again. He found and took the spirits of different girls who may have resembled his daughter in some way. All of them have committed unforgivable sins, but regardless, Abyss took them and attempted to create Paradise. As he and the girls gathered, the Paradise he created started decaying and turned into hell. Elyce would never be found and Abyss, along with the girls, will be forever doomed to live out their delusions in the black Elysion.

Personality: Murdering, pilfering, abducting, and smuggling. Abyss is a man who is capable of committing all known sins if it means he has something to gain from them. Wearing a mask and dressed in black robes, he shows an almost theatrical sense of delight in what he does. While most certainly an evil man, Abyss does have a person he cares for in his heart: his daughter, Elise. To buy Elise's happiness, Abyss is more than willing to commit all sorts of crimes. Despite his genuine wish to make Elise happy, he ignores her deteriorating conditions and has her live in a fantasy world through storybooks.

He claims, however, that he does not love Elise. Rather than love, Abyss sees her existence as something special to his life. In contrast to his evil nature, Elise embodies a true sense of innocence. Abyss does whatever he can to retain it even kill other people and steal from them. Most of his earnings, aside from food, are used to buy picture books for her to read. He does not have too many chances to buy them given their extreme costs.

Aside from El, Abyss could care less about the other people around him. They mean little to his life and if anything, most people he meets would very likely have something of value stolen and pawned. Most of the time, his manner of speaking to others is often rude and sarcastic. Respect is the very last thing he would give others, but really, it isn't as though he's expecting to gain it either. Most people wouldn't exactly enjoy his company, but at rare times, he just may find interest in others. If such an event occurs, expect to be closely observed.

Even though Abyss died, he still walked the Earth in search of his daughter. Venturing through different time periods, he extends a hand out to five girls who he believes may be his daughter: Ark, Baroque, Yield, Sacrifice, and Stardust. Wishing to cast away all of his mortal bindings and help grant them happiness, he takes them to Paradise. As a part of his more poetic side, he genuinely believes in a Paradise where nobody can be hurt and everybody is happy; however, what sort of a Paradise can be created by such a sinful man? The Paradise he creates soon turns into hell and, whether or not he is aware of it, he has doomed many souls to damnation.

It is at this point where Abyss finally realizes that all of his actions have perpetuated El’s suffering and granted her eternal hell. The only person he was deluding after all this was himself. Regretting his life choices, Abyss accepts his head quietly and keeps to the hell that he lives in. It is only until death when he comes to terms with the live he was given and how much of it was squandered in lies.

Abilities and Powers: Despite being an old man, Abyss is extremely agile and skilled with a knife. Nearly every strike he goes for is meant to kill, making him a difficult combatant to deal with. In exchange for his speed, a few good hits can easily take him down faster than most warriors.

He has died long ago, yet he continues to exist in the world only because he has yet to find his Elyce. Albeit technically a ghost, the masked man is able to assume a physical form that can feel pain just like any normal human being. Unlike normal human beings, however, Abyss cannot be sent to the grave just by mortally wounding him through normal means. He'll return once again later on as long as he still has a mission in mind.

The man has the power to travel through time, although this can't be done by will. He wanders around aimlessly, allowing fate to take him wherever.

Reason for Joining: Abyss has little interest in protecting people of different worlds. Rather, his primary goal in joining Confuto Ordinato is simply to search for his daughter, Paradise, or to mug people. He's willing to cooperate if it means a shiny coin for him, though.

Notes: Abyss, in his own canon, has abducted girls who he believes to be Elyce. I'll have to ask other rpers for permission when some event revolving that comes up.

Relm Arrowny | Final Fantasy VI

Personality: Relm is a spunky little firecracker, much to her grandfather Strago's amusement and frustration. She has always been full of life, with a sharp wit and tongue to match. She speaks her mind, unafraid of anyone else's reactions to her attitude.

She has a bit of a temper, but it's usually brought on by someone calling her a kid or looking down on her because of her age. She may be young, but she doesn't like being treated like a child, and nothing gets her fired up faster than someone treating her as such. That being said, she still understands that sometimes she gets in over her head, and even though she'd never admit it, she's grateful to those adults she knows and trusts when they help her out of those situations. She also doesn't hesitate to use the "but I'm just a little girl!" line to get out of trouble and to make others feel guilty for bullying her, as it often seems to work quite well and she's quickly picked up on this.

She has all kinds of colorful names for the people she talks to, her grandfather being the one that gets the worst of it. From "fuddy-duddy" to "dried up old bag of bones", Relm never holds back when she's talking to Strago. Instead of chastising her, though, he just accepts these insults as they're really meant to be - a sign of Relm's affection for him. For all of her jabs and complaints about her grandfather, he is clearly the most important person in Relm's life, and she loves him dearly - even if she has strange ways of showing it.

Despite having no real knowledge of romance and attraction, she is quick to assume that anyone displaying any sort of romantic affection is a pervert. Watching people get flustered over such accusations only amuses her and makes her teasing worse, and she has a tendency to say some very racy and questionable things, implying actions she doesn't fully understand herself.

Relm also loves dogs, and they seem to love her back. Or perhaps Interceptor is a special case? Regardless, Relm takes an immediate liking to the huge and seemingly vicious dog, and in response he acts quite like the overgrown puppy around her, much to her delight.

Not surprisingly, Relm loves to paint and draw, and she's very talented. Even when she isn't using her magic to bring her drawings to life, her artistic ability is impressive, and she takes great pride in her work. For one so young, she has great passion for art, and it shows in all of her creations. She often boasts that she's the greatest artist that has ever lived, and in a way that just might be true - no one else in her world seems to have the power of Pictomancy that she does, and her talent is indeed impressive, causing even the critical and snobbish Owzer to take notice and commission her for a painting to add to his huge collection.

Abilities and Powers: As a Pictomancer, Relm has the ability to make anything she draws come to life. She is also a skilled mage.

Reason for Joining: When given the chance to see countless new things, how could she say no? Imagine the things she'll be able to paint! Excitement and adventure! Also, how can she become the best artist ever if she doesn't see as many things as possible?

Personality: To an outsider, Marvelous appears to be a callous man who cares only for his own
desires. However, Marvelous is an upredictable man who follows his desires and his curiosity. If he wants to know, try, or investigate something, he'll do so. He seems to have an altruistic streak, at least when it comes to protecting people from the Zangyack, as shown in various instances in the show. A lot of times, this appears to be Marvelous just going after things he wants, like rescuing Joe just to recruit him; yet he and the other Gokaigers were able to recruit Gao Lion to their cause by showing that they have some degree of justice in them. Marvelous may be out for treasure, but unjust treatment of others will draw his ire.

Marvelous is very impulsive - if something sets off his curiosity, or it seems like an interesting thing to do, he jumps at the chance, as seen whenever the Gokaigers' robot bird Navi gives them vague treasure predictions, he's off without a second thought. This impulsiveness is offset by becoming easily bored, however - in which case, Marvelous is content to kill time doing recreational things on his ship until something happens that causes him to react.

Marvelous appreciates the skills of others that he lacks, or those that compliment his own - he built his crew around each crewmember having prominent skills that he himself lacked. He's no good with computers (The Doc), he lacks diplomacy skills (Ahim), Luka is a better thief, and Joe is a better swordsman. When Gai approached Marvelous with a desire to join, that was Marvelous' only stipulation - what did he bring to the table that the others lacked?

Once wronged, Marvelous has a strong sense of vengance - this is shown in two ways: One, he's quick to strike back against the Zangyack when they come after him and his crew. He may not actively pursue them, but given the chance, he'll stand up to them. Abilities and Powers: With his Mobirates and the Ranger Keys, Marvelous can transform into any member of the previous Super Sentai teams* and use their abilities, though so far, he's only changed into the Red members of the teams. Unmorphed, Marvelous is great at melee and hand-to-hand combat, and a good shot as well. He primarily fights with his saber and pistol, not having been shown to swap out with other team members. Marvelous is also shown to have extraordinary strength, able to both break a Zangyack tracking collar and play darts reasonably well while wearing a weighted bracelet that an average person has trouble lifting with both hands.

*When Luka apped, it was unknown that the 'extra' rangers' powers could be accessed by the five regular Gokaigers, but in episode 17, we see them all use a different key, so the extra ranger keys do not seem to be locked to just Gokai Silver as assumed.

Reason for Joining: To find the greatest treasures in the multiverse. Also, universes ending is kind of a bad thing to happen. Plus, perhaps there's even more powers to be found out among the multiverse.

Position Desired: Enforcer, Infiltration Unit. Marvelous is the leader of the Gokaigers, and is quite the adept leader on the field. He's got a take-charge attitude, though he is open to suggestions from those who work for him. He can admit when he screws up, though just to those he really trusts. He was a former crew member of the Red Pirates, but when they were betrayed and broken apart, Marvelous took what was left over, started over, and founded the Gokaigers, hunting up a crew and taking off after the Greatest Treasure in the Universe.

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: I'm applying for Enforcer, but... Nobody deserves to have their universe destroyed. Besides, think of all the treasure out there that would go to waste if whole universes were destroyed!
