Application

Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.

-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:

1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.

If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.

-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.

-You may only have one application in queue at a time. If you would like to submit a second app, you must wait until your first has been processed.

Application Template:
Looked over the community? Brushed up on all 31,561,021 Confuto Ordinatio rules and regulations? Filled out all your forms in triplicate? Looks like you're ready to get that Gate Key! Just fill out the following form and submit it to the Executive Subcommittee of Other-Planar Affairs! That Gate Key should be yours in 5-7 business days!

The following is an alternate form that can be used in place of a musebox sample post. It takes the form of an application and interview as if the character were applying for a job. Respond to the questions in-character, if you or your character doesn't know what they're asking for indicate it in some way. The character can lie if doing so is in character, but indicate they are doing it by writing "[LIE]" before the answer to the question.

Player Name: Floogy
Character Name: Ixthalluz
Canon: Planeocracy

Background:
Ixthalluz is the youngest among a rather large number of siblings, which at its most had numbered at sixteen. The eldest sibling had maintained some level of domination over his younger brothers and sister, which came to an end some years after Ixthalluz was born.

It happened one day while the clutch was alone in the lair. It was rather unusual for such a large number of dragons to even go that long without a death, especially for black dragons, but the infighting suddenly erupted. Ixthalluz managed to stay relatively unnoticed... though, a few instances it became obvious that her siblings were ignoring her. The youngest certainly wasn't a threat, right?

A part of Ixthalluz, her growing pride as a dragon, was enraged by this. It was certainly a childish reaction, but she was still a child by dragon standards after all. In a surprise move, she suddenly tackled onto her eldest sibling, clawing and biting with everything she had. Despite his gross superiority due to their age difference, Ixthalluz managed to kill her brother as the others looked on in awe. With the death of the eldest, the battle had suddenly ceased. In the end, only five had survived that day.

At the time, the others were actually frightened of Ixthalluz. However, as time went on, they began to think it was just plain luck that she had managed to defeat the eldest. Though they didn't outright try to kill her, they did began to re-assert their dominance over her. She tried to fight back at first, but it soon became obvious to her that she wouldn't be able to pull off the same feat she had against their eldest. Even when the other four began fighting amongst themselves, she kept out of it. It hurt her pride, but some bit of common sense in her told her that getting involved would only see her injured... or worse. She told herself that she needed to bide her time until she could do anything.

A number of years went by like this, although one more sibling died, before the others eventually moved out one by one. Ixthalluz was more than eager to follow in their footsteps, though something felt empty in her life as she finally began living in her own lair. Sitting on treasure hoards and being waited on hand and foot by servants... what kind of life was that, after the excitement of living with her siblings who might have killed her at a moments notice? As scared as she was at times, there was still something about it that she missed. And how was she supposed to prove herself?

And then, the answer became obvious: Confuto Ordinatio. Especially that division 0134 that she's heard so much about the last year or so...

Setting Information: Imperius Draconius

Portal Location: One of those authorized portals.

2/3

[identity profile] dragon-moe.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 07:47 am (UTC)(link)

Personality:
Ixthalluz has a rather disjointed personality. On the surface, around most species, she will seem prideful and boastful. Though this may come off as a superiority complex, it's more of overcoming her feelings of inferiority that came with living with her siblings. Around humans, she's voice her dominance because she's a dragon. Considering humanoids are more or less servants in Imperius Draconus, this isn't entirely unusual among her kind.

However, she does have a strange sort of fascination with the 'smaller races' in general. Even the technology that they've managed to churn out. She won't readily admit it, though, hanging onto the belief of general dragon superiority. Fortunately, with a black dragon's natural ability to be sneaky, it's not entirely too difficult to play around with technology to get a feel for it without showing anybody her 'weakness'... however, at the same time, if she gets too engrossed in something, it would become much easier for somebody to catch her.

Because of her inferiority issue, she feels a strong need to prove herself. Her actions can often be thought of as rash and impulsive... and yet, it's also because of her complex that she will hold herself back if she gets the idea that pushing ahead will only get herself killed or humiliated. Her way of fighting is actually unusually calculated, though her maneuvers don't make it seem as such.

With other dragons, she acts rather differently. Due to the peace accords, she generally treats other dragons with some amount of respect. In particular, though, Ixthalluz idolizes Ksthellixis, thanks to the fact that their homeworld does often hear of 0134's exploits due to his involvement in putting together the division. This is also partly the reason she finds the 'smaller races' so interesting.

Overall, in regards to the smaller species, Ixthalluz has a hard time being honest because of the ingrained 'knowledge' that dragons are superior to them. Being technically still a “teenager” in the human sense of the word, not to mention that CO is such a big departure from where she came from, that the idea of humans being equals is strange and confounding. She's likely to react with some amount of disgust and anger to hide her confusion.

Reason for Joining: She wants to prove herself... and get some platinum coins to add to her hoard.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: It is an integrated world...

Nagi | SMT: Devil Summoner 2 | Reserved | 1/?

[identity profile] conjecture-this.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Melon
Character Name: Nagi
Canon: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha (or Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summon 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon)

Background: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Nagi
To put Nagi's past in more detail:
Nagi was an orphan found by Geirin Kuzunoha the 17th in the Tento Woods. Teased for her fair skin and the light color of her eyes, the girl had fled into the woods to seek refuge among the only friends she knew - devils that apparently only she could see. Her ability to see on Geirin had just killed impresses the older man and when he asks her name, the young girl doesn't have one to give him. He dubs her Nagi and then asks if she will come with him, to which she replies, "Will I make friends?" When he tells her she will, Nagi agrees to go with him.

Setting Information: Already filled out.

Portal Location: The Nameless Shrine’s Well in Tsukigata.

[identity profile] conjecture-this.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
When one first meets Nagi, the immediate impression is always "what an odd girl". Devil Summoner is set within Taisho Era Japan and as such, foreigners are rather rare and rather eye-catching. With her fair skin and icy blue eyes, granted to her by her Russian heritage, Nagi stands out distinctly among her Japanese neighbors. And then, there's the way she talks. 'Conjecture', 'theory' and 'process' seem to be Nagi's favorite words, all inherited from the man who took her in as a young child, Geirin Kuzunoha the 17th. While she tends to speak somewhat formally thanks to this, there are times when Nagi will lapse and almost talk like a typical person. She never uses the common 20's slang people like Dahn Tsukigata, Narumi and Tae tend to throw around but she does speak more candidly and openly.

At first Nagi appears cold towards her fellow summoner Raidou, though soon we learn this coldness is for a twofold reason - her own Master's attentions toward Raidou and her conviction that her Master is a much better summoner than Raidou. This coldness fades away once Raidou helps the apprentice summoner with training and also assists her with advice on numerous topics, from dealing with devils and apologizing to her Master to dealing with increasingly poor circumstances within Tsukigata Village.

When she warms up, Nagi displays a much softer side to herself. Nagi's great pride in her Master's abilities comes from her deep devotion to the man. He is the only parental figure the young girl has ever known and given the man's typically cool attitude, Nagi seems to desperately wish to impress him. This wish to impress often causes Nagi to dive into situations before she has thought them thoroughly through, such as training in the Kuzunoha Great Hall without being strong enough for the task. On one hand, this is commendable, as it shows a willingness to pit herself again any situation no matter how tough or dire the outlook may be. On the other, it shows a lack of foresight as well as how easy it is to rile Nagi up.
This is again shown when Geirin goes to unseal a great demon and, after facing off with 14 of the 16 former Geirin Kuzunoha's spirits, falls in battle lamenting his inability to finish his greatest task and thus have something to show to his predecessors. Knowing her Master is quickly fading, Nagi thrusts herself into a fight against on of the Geirin Kuzunohas, proclaiming she will give her Master something to show his predecessors as an accomplishment. "I have something you can show to your predecessors, Master... Please tell them tales of how I've grown under your tutelage!"
While this is a commendable and understandable move, it's likewise a move fueled thoroughly by feelings rather than logical thinking and yet again shows Nagi's ability to be easily flustered and hotheaded.

Likewise, Nagi is very dependent on the approval of others, whether this approval comes from her Master himself or from Raidou. Geirin greets her breaking his rules and entering the Great Hall without his consent with a smile when speaking to Raidou. While he can't condone the act to her directly due to it be a break from his rules, he does condone it on the level of it showing Nagi is gaining independence. She went along that path of action herself, clearly in opposition of him, and to Geirin this shows she is developing the ability to be independent - a much needed accomplishment when it comes to being a Devil Summoner.
This is a slow lesson for Nagi and even now she looks to those she gains respect in for assistance and to tell her the way to handle things. While Nagi is a naturally bright girl who catches on to situations and problems very quickly, this is naturally tempered by this constant questioning of herself and her actions.
In short? Nagi still needs to learn the medium between leaping within thinking and hanging back forever until someone tells her to do otherwise. She's slowly taking those steps though, showing not a lack of spirit holding her back but rather and unwillingness to let others down.

Character Name: Melissa Mao
Canon: Full Metal Panic

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa_Mao

Setting Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_metal_panic

Earth
Full Metal Panic

Ability Changes: Only supernatural powers that work are telepathy, and even that is limited to the Whispered: people who have mysterious technology from the future locked away in their minds and a limited ability to telepathically communicate with each other.
Ability Limitations: See above?
Form Restrictions: Humans only. Mecha can be brought through as per normal, though expect changes in the design to fit the local technology. Any "super robot" aspects will manifest as a lambda driver, which allows the pilot to have limited control of reality directly through their minds.
Social Restrictions: Earth has many cultures, each with different restrictions and customs
Notes: Caution: Villains don't know when to quit
Additional Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_metal_panic

Portal Location: At MITHRIL's Island base in the south pacific

Personality: Mao has two very seperate personas, one for off duty and one for on duty, and she can change between them like a switch. It's not like a split personality or anything, she just keeps her professional life and her private life very separate. When she's working on a job of some kind, she's professional and serious, respectful to her superiors (In a military kind of way.), and straight to the point with her subordinates. She's generally pretty good of keeping personal feelings out of a job (but she's not perfect at it), and she expects her colleagues to do the same.

She has been known to have views on the proper method for training new recruits. They tend to involve horrifically brutal physical labor and obstacle courses and the like all the while the recruit is recieving unending torrents of verbal abuse from the trainer. She wrote a book on the subject, in fact. She probably finds it easy to train people this way because holy shit does she ever have a temper. While normally fairly patient, once Mao loses her temper, she fucking flips. Expect insults, rash decisions and bets, and actual physical violence.

Then she punches off the clock and she becomes someone else entirely. Off duty Mao is something of a slob. She drinks, she smokes and she leaves a mess in her room (mainly of empty beer cans and cigarette butts). The one thing she does take good care of is her body, mainly in terms of making sure she looks good. She is, in fact, quite proud of her looks and is not above using her feminine wiles to get what she wants. She frequently makes references to having lots of experience in bed, as it were, stating that pillow talk is the best way to learn foreign languages (and she shown to speak 3 languages at least, speaking English, Chinese, and Japanese, and while you never actually see her speaking it, she's able to sneak into a party where everyone's speaking Italian without attracting any notice, so she must be doing something right.)

She finds it easy to become the "big sister" of any relationship. She can be a bit condescending at times, issuing advice with a friendly attitude without wondering whether or not you actually want any advice, especially in regards to her friends' personal lives. The actual quality of her advice, however, is very questionable. She'll generally advice you to stop hesitating and just go through with whatever it is you're considering, especially in matters of the heart. In fact when it comes to romance, her general working advice is "Jump his/her bones."

Reason for Joining: This is basically what she does already, just on a bigger scale.

Position Desired: Enforcer

Interview:

What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?: I think the guy in the routing office called it "interdimensional fatigue". Honestly your guess is probably better than mine.

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: Probably my Dad, but not in the way he wanted.

So how 'bout them Tenbraks eh? Eh? Catch the game? 52-7, I told Janice in Accounting, I said "those Balthims, they're just not up to snuff this year," but no, she said "I'll bet you 20 plat they're gonna take the banner." Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?: Uh...gimme some time to get my bearings, then we can talk about that kind of stuff

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: How could I pass up an opportunity like THIS?
I saw a guy FLYING down the hall on the way over here! When I first showed up, I saw a woman walk out of a magic portal filled with eyes! This place is nuts!

What would you say are your greatest strengths?: My ability to roll with the punches and adapt to things quickly. I'm also pretty good at coming up with plans.

What would you say are your greatest weaknesses?: Honestly? Probably my temper.

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: I'm a fully qualified Arm Slave pilot, well versed in electronic warfare, a skilled infiltrator, I have lots of experience in on foot combat, both armed and unarmed, and I was a drill instructor for the US Marine Corps. I'm sure you'll be able to find a use for me.

Tell me about some of your prior work experience.: I spent four years in the US Marine Corps where I ended up as a drill sgt. before, er...leaving, and then two more years working for the private army MITHRIL, where I've worked mainly as an Arm Slave pilot and field agent. [Partial lie, she got a dishonorable discharge from the marines for unclear reasons.]

How would you say your prior work experiences shaped you as a person?: Well, There's nothing like on the job training to get you better at your job, and I can honestly say my co-workers are some of my best friends now.

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: Alright.

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: Depends on who you're asking. I generally think when I meddle, it's in something that needs to be meddled in, but the people I'm meddling with probably disagree.

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: Mmmmmaybe a teensy bit of heroism.

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: I already do.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Glad to hear it.

Player Name: Fennel
Character Name: Tenshi Hinanai
Canon: Touhou

Background: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Tenshi_Hinanai

Setting Information: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki
I think you have the information already, though

Portal Location: A portal high up in the sky, on the floating island the celestials live on. Most were simply ignoring it, due to being busy meditating, but Tenshi inspected it, because she was very bored.

Personality:
Touhou is known for a certain variance in plausible characterizations. And while I am trying to keep as close as possible to canon!Tenshi, others might see her a different way. I've seen people portray has as truly evil, as a goofy masochist, or as a lonely little girl who just wants friends. So, I'd ask you to keep this in mind, my characterization is only as valid as any other. You might have seen her used differently elsewhere in the vast pit of snakes that is the scary Touhou fandom.

Tenshi is quite a selfish character. Brought up in an environment that gave her pretty much anything she wanted without effort, she never had to work for her living, and her greatest concern is usually that life might get boring.

Consequently, she also never really got praise, and is somewhat starved for attention in some form. She is mostly concerned with her own entertainment and amusement, even if others suffer through it. She is not above destroying shrines, screwing with the weather, and preparing a huge earthquake, just to have some fun. She still is not REALLY one with bad intentions, and she will fix what she caused afterwards, like by rebuilding a shrine she destroyed.

Of course, her idea of fun usually means people fighting her in some way. She even makes sure that people are properly angry at her, to the point of telling characters about her evil earthquake plot just so they could decide to stop her in a properly angry way. Her enthusiasm for enemies fighting her seriously tends to be over the top enough that some people consider her to be a kind of masochist, including Marisa in her entries on Tenshi in the canonical grimoire. This is a misperception, however.

While most of the things she does are centered around getting other people angry at her, there is one thing that makes *her* angry, or at least severely peeved. This is when people don’t respect her power. She has no problem with losing (in fact she prefers losing in the end, because she isn’t actually an evil person, just an annoying one. She wants to have people to fight tomorrow, so nuking them in an earthquake isn’t what she really wants) , as long as people don’t insult her as weak!

She also really hates if people don’t pay attention to her, too, and will go to some lengths to GET attention.
So, all in all, Tenshi is an annoyance - and she intends to be just that. It gets people in the mood to fight her, after all.

Reason for Joining:
Fun. Tenshi is a troublemaker who can get bored pretty easily. When she heard of potential massive disaster striking worlds, she thought, hey, messing THAT up could really get her not-bored for a while. It’s really important to her to not be bored, after all. Plus, lots of other people trying to stop that stuff, who could also be fun. Same as last time, really.

Position Desired: I'd really like her to become an enforcer, for various reasons, and could argue she could have gained the experience in the time being, but I guess that's unwanted? If so, Agent.

Point in Canon: Post Double Spoiler, including all canon work before that one. Not that she appears in that many…

Right now I'm not totally sure what Tenshi has that would get her into the Enforcer position besides prior experience in CO (which she admittedly didn't do too much Enforcer-y things), but I'm willing to consider it if you want to elaborate a bit more. Otherwise we can just accept her as an Agent.

[Reserved] Tieria Erde

[personal profile] momijizukamori 2011-04-02 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Cocoa
Character Name: Tieria Erde
Canon: Gundam 00

Background: Wiki link

Setting Information: Already represented

Portal Location: In the midst of an asteroid field near where the Veda base is currently stationed.

Personality: In the beginning of the series, Tieria is something of a self-described sociopath - he admits at one point in S1 that he doesn’t completely understand human feelings. He’s got a snap temper, and is extremely goal-focused - he gets angry several times at the other pilots for pursuing small goals rather than their overall mission, particularly Setsuna, who he frequently sees as being unworthy of being a meister. He also seems to care very little about what others think of him - he’s openly abrasive and critical of those around him, and doesn’t seem to put much stock in playing nice. He believes his connection with Veda makes him special compared to the other four pilots; more in tune with Aeolia’s plans, and as such comes off as having a bit of a superiority complex, viewing himself as better than the others. He also has difficulty accepting responsibility for his own mistakes, instead looking to blame others for the problems.

Events near the end of S1 force Tieria to re-examine this point of view, however. When his connection with Veda is severed, he loses what sets him apart from the other pilots. The team’s normal human, Lockon Stratos, is the one to save his life, but is seriously injured in the process. When that injury later leads to Lockon’s death, Tieria experiences feelings of profound loss and uncertainty of his role for the first time. In some ways this serves to crack his emotional barriers and to force him to look at things in a different light. The loss of Veda also highlights his inner
weakness - that he defines himself by Veda, and without the AI to guide him, he lacks ground to stand on, and has no real self-built means of validation.

With this in mind, he spends a great deal of his time in S2 of the anime slowly defining himself. He attempts to joke with the re-gathered members of Celestial Being early on - a joke that nobody gets and is entirely unfunny, but even the attempt is a change from the cold, ruthless efficiency he shows in S1. He’s also presented with a personal conflict by Regene Regetta, his genetic twin, and an Innovade - an enemy. Regene explains to Tieria that he, too, is an Innovade, and that his place is with his siblings - ruling as humanity’s masters. Sie asks Tieria to betray his crewmates - the people he has come to think of owing a bond to - for the supposed ‘greater plan’. Tieria is torn between the legacy his time with Veda has conditioned him to believe in, and the people he has started to learn to believe in of his own accord. Ultimately, after seeing what the Innovades have to offer, he chooses humanity. Chooses to give up Veda, who had been the center of his life until so recently, to protect the humans he has allied with. It’s one of the biggest decisions that is completely of his own accord, rather than foreordained by Veda, and in doing so, he acknowledges that while he may not be fully human himself, he is, at least in part, human too. At the end of S2, he confronts Ribbons Almark, the leader of the Innovades, inside Veda’s terminal chamber. Ribbons shoots Tieria, but Tieria had used the opening to reconnect to Veda, sacrificing his physical body to retake the AI. When Setsuna reaches the chamber and finds Tieria’s body, he vows to avenge the Innovade - at which point Tieria says to not kill him off so quickly, and expresses his thankfulness that he was born as an Innovade - because his abilities allowed him to save Setsuna and the rest of Celestial Being.

Tieria Erde - 2

[personal profile] momijizukamori 2011-04-02 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
The changes from S2 and the time Tieria spends in Veda are very clear in the movie - he’s brisk, business-like, which is understandable. Earth is under attack. But when someone has bad news, or lacks information, there’s no snapping - not even at Lyle, who gets the majority of his wrath in S2 for failing to be his brother. Tieria simply nods, offers his own knowledge and opinion, and moves on without conflict. He almost acts as a mentor figure to Setsuna near the end, calmly guiding the young Innovator to success. It’s a far cry from the person who felt he had no worth outside of Veda, and who snapped at everyone around him to defend his own heart. While he’s being played pre-movie, most of the development shown in the movie is the result of his past, and the space inbetween S2 and the movie, rather than the movie itself, so it’s a good indication of his actions and personality in that timeframe.

Reason for Joining: Tieria’s role as Veda’s sysadmin is to gather information in order to aid humanity. Discovering that there are connected multiverses is definitely a development that merits further investigation.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: Post-S2, just before the movie.

Notes: Tieria acts as sys admin for a large AI system known as Veda - his conciousness exists primarily in the AI system, but he can download himself into lab-grown bodies (and will have done so at the time of his joining). He maintains his link to Veda’s information banks, even in this form, and if a properly equipped terminal link up is installed he can switch to non-corporeal and exist as a holo-projection from Veda’s system, which frees him from actual physical constraints and allows him to do things like easily call up information displays or renders.

Sample Post:

Name: Tieria Erde

Age:
Current-body age: Three months.
Consciousness age: 22 earth-years.
Home Plane Identification Number: 305509
Visitor Identification Number: 12600782

Reason for requisitioning a Gate Key: To increase the store of information in Veda’s databanks, in order to better prepare humanity for its future expansion and peace.

Intended use of the Gate Key: See above.

Favorite Color: Purple. I fail to see how this question is relevant

Measurements (Female applicants only): [Small arrow points towards ‘Measurements’ with the note ‘ambiguous - please define’]

Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: The probability of acquiring the energy necessary to physically destroy a planet is 6, 450, 332:1 [translation: No.]

Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities: Advanced MS piloting and engineering skills, communication with other Innovade-type individuals linked to the Veda system, programming.

Psychiatric Evaluation Code: 1-301.22-2-299.80 [Shows signs of schizoid personality disorder and non-specific autism-spectrum disorder. Impairment is minimal. Yes, he’s nothing if meticulous in his reporting]

Hobbies: [He leaves this question blank - hobbies? What are those? He finds pleasure in his work. Those private holo-simulations he’s been working on totally don’t count.]

Education Background: Initial education carried out under the scientists of the CB base at Lagrange (NUMBER). MS engineering taught by engineer and Gundam specialist Ian Vashti. Further knowledge acquisition under the guidance of Veda.

Work Experience:
-Gundam Pilot
-Mobile Suit engineer
-System Administrator for the AI-complex ‘Veda’

Favorite Plant and/or Animal: [little marks of his pen as he taps while he thinks] Aloe is very efficient.

Kiritsugu Emiya

[identity profile] maguskiller.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Albiel
Character Name: Kiritsugu Emiya
Canon: Fate/Zero

Background: Fate/Zero. (http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Fate/Zero)
Type-Moon Wiki (http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Kiritsugu)

Setting Information: His world is already in, even if he’s from ten years earlier.

Portal Location: A hotel in Fuyuki, Shinto.

Personality: First of all, it should be established that Kiritsugu’s raison d’être is to save people. Ever since he was a kid, he’s been trying to serve as a hero to everyone he meets. While he will be furious at anyone short of his family that brings up his past, it is undoubtedly his background which has led him to develop this philosophy.

Fate/Zero is far more cynical than Fate/Stay, and it shows with Kiritsugu. His desire to save people has not been diminished in the least, despite going through tragedy after tragedy. However, he has developed a very mathematical sense of justice. To put it simply, Kiritsugu will not hesitate to kill if it will lead to the salvation of others, as long as the maximum amount of lives were preserved. He’s very much willing to put civilians in danger for this reason. His countless actions, which could be branded as those of a terrorist, have earned him the moniker ‘Magus Killer’, as well as an infamous reputation among the magic community.

Unlike pretty much every other magus out there, he’s very familiarized with technology, and actually uses it more than magecraft itself. He’s an extremely good marksman, able to hit targets at night from 200 meters away, and is always in possession of at least two firearms, his Calico M950 submachine gun and his one-shot Thompson Contender, as well as a dagger. He will also carry a Walther WA2000 if he’s sniping, and has used explosives such as C4 and grenades on regular occasions. In addition, he has a wide variety of minor magecraft skills, most important being his ability to manipulate his body’s time (Any relation to other Urobuchi characters = 100% intentional). It actually seems as if Kiritsugu will use anything at his disposal if it will bring in victory, be it weapons, environment, or tactics.

Speaking of, he’s perhaps the best planner in the entire 4th War, and never, ever engages an enemy without an appropriate strategy. These can include tactics that some could call ‘underhanded’, such as using jedi truths on people, as well as completely ignoring any code of honor. He also happens to be a merciless interrogator, willing to blow off a suspect’s hand within seconds of starting questioning. It is shown that all of the aforementioned heartlessness, as well as his aversion to happiness, is an act Kiritsugu forces upon himself in order to chase his dream, but even so, he has shown no intention of changing his ways. Not until he accomplishes his goal, anyways.

Kiritsugu Emiya/2

[identity profile] maguskiller.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
It would not be inaccurate to say that Kiritsugu hates Heroic Spirits. He hates how they use glory and chivalry to justify and spark the flames of war, killing thousands for no real reason at all. When engaged in conversation with one, he will often ignore what they say, and simply treat them as if they were tools of war. He will not try to engage them in battle directly, though. He knows his limits.

Despite his extensive resume of badassery, Kiritsugu should not be interpreted as a brave man. While he’s able to weather any threats to himself, he will fall into complete despair if anyone he’s close to is put in danger. In fact, he’s not above showing emotion when he’s in front of certain people, and has actually wept on occasion. This personality trait, cowardice, could very well be the reason for Kiritsugu’s fighting style, which is based on killing the enemy before they know what has happened, keeping his distance, and not letting himself be seen.

However, his personality does a complete 180 when interacting with his family. His wife, Irisviel, is one of the only three persons he will be mostly honest to, and will actually go out of his way in the middle of a war to make her happy. This shift is even greater when he’s near Ilya, his daughter. In such cases, Kiritsugu will play, joke and laugh, completely leaving behind his typical self. Seriously, the guy’s just about the best father you could imagine. Sure, it’s not enough to put his family over his aspirations of saving the world, but still. He also gets along with Maiya, his pupil, better than with most people, even if he tries his best to see her as nothing more than another tool (a task at which he isn’t completely successful).

Reason for Joining: Like I said, he wants to save the world. Plain and simple. He wants to get the Grail, but accomplishing his wish won’t stop his world from getting annihilated if others interfere.

Position Desired: You know what? Yeah, let's go with Councilor.

Point in Canon: Right as the 4th War begins. He already summoned Saber, and has just arrived in Fuyuki. I’ll update him if someone ever apps a Fate/Zero character.

Ricasthix

[identity profile] dragonhistorian.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Eric
Character Name: Ricasthix
Canon: Confuto Ordinatio (Original Character)

Background: Ricasthix is a fairly rare breed of dragon: an Orium Dragon. These metallic red dragons have a racial tendancy towards making their lairs in forgotten corners of the world that have ancient crumbling ruins and restoring them to their former glory (while, at the same time, turning them into effective dragon lairs.). They are generally less interested in the feudal games of dominance most other dragons play, preferring to gather a small clan of servants to help them with their research by dealing with tiresome details of living like collecting food. Their dragon breath is unusual in that while it is initially acidic much like a black dragons, the acid once it has hit the ground gathers up to form a magical construct in the shape of a snake that continues to fight under the dragon's mental control.

Ricasthix himself has had a startlingly normal childhood for a dragon. He was the eldest son in his family, having had three younger sisters. While orium dragons are not the most physical of dragons, usually perferring more academic pass-times to things like hunting, young ones are still fairly rowdy, as is the way of children everywhere. Ricasthix, however, rarely joined into such games, perferring solitude even more than normal for a species that already prefers solitude. He spent a lot of his time flying around his parent's lair, exploring. Eventually he moved away from his parents and started his own lair.

After several years, Ricasthix found that his asocial ways were hurting him. He had taken to his racial habit of restoring ancient ruins to make his lair, but found that he wanted a bit more historical accuracy to his restorations than he was able to supply and he knew very few people to ask for help. He HAD heard of one particular dragon that might give him some insight, however. So he set up a zillion traps around his modest hoard, scooped up a bag of particularly choice treasures and went to find a particular dragon he had heard of: Gralonax, an elder silver dragon who was particularly famous for being wise on the subjects of history. He eventually found Gralonax and gave the treasure he had brought up as a tribute in exchange for being the older dragon's student.

Gralonax was an unusual dragon, but was widely considered to be the leading expert on humanoid psychology. He accepted Ricasthix as a student. Gralonax was fond of taking a human form and living among them, so he taught Ricasthix to do this as well. The older dragon reasoned that in order for Ricasthix to learn more about humanoids in the past, he first had to understand humanoids in the present. Ideally humanoids who were not ruled by dragons. There are no such humanoids on Imperius Draconis, so after a few years of teaching the younger dragon, Gralonax advised him to join Confuto Ordinatio as an agent and to live among humanoids from worlds that were not under draconic rule.

Draconic traits:
-Breath weapon: an acidic vapor he can cause to condense into a magical construct shaped like a snake that acts under his direction
-Magic: Ricasthix is skilled at arcane magic, with specialties in enchantment and divination
-Big: Ricasthix is a whopping 38 feet when stretched out from nose to tip of tail with a 28 foot wing span and weighing in at 1900lbs.

Setting Information: Already done for Ksthellixis

Portal Location: Official Imperius Draconis portal

Personality: Ricasthix is a bit of a nerd. He is more interested in learning and understanding the world around him than he is in having fun or making friends. However where in some people this would lead to antisocial behavior, in Ricasthix it has led to him constantly mingaling with people. The subject of his study is people, and so he has devoted himself to understanding them. Since his tutor has declared that the next step to understanding people is to spend time amongst them, that is what he is going to do.

Re: Ricasthix

[identity profile] dragonhistorian.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
However, he has taken an unusual approach to it. He has a habit of carrying a pen and a notepad around with him which he uses to take notes on the behavior of the people around him or, more frequently, the people he has started watching stealthily from a distance. Sometimes after a particularly strong emotional reaction, he might ask you questions on why you reacted in a certain way, not taking into account that you yourself might be unable to answer logically due to being too upset/happy/angry/sad/whatever.

Ricasthix has many of the sterotypical quirks of Orium dragons. For relaxation he prefers solitude to company. He has an avid interest in trying to recreate the glory of ancient civlizations, and is especially fond of collecting antique treasures for his hoard back home, to the point of trying to smuggle small things out of worlds he probably shouldn't. However he's not just content to restore ancient monuments (Which is defintely something he does, mostly as a hobby.). He generally feels that he "could have done it better", which usually means making it more suited for dragon sized creatures, even if that means knocking out walls and expanding doorways, or sealing all the entrances so it is only accessible from the air.

Like all but the most eccentric of dragons, he has something of a superiority complex. He considers humanoids in general to be a lesser species. It's not hard to understand WHY he thinks this. Dragons live dozens of times longer than humans, are stronger and tougher, can fly, have a high aptitude for magic, and are just generally equipped with every advantage under the sun. He doesn't really try to bring attention to this, but if the subject DOES come up and he is pressed he will make his position known. Nothing personal, humans, you're just not as awesome as dragons are. In general.

He is very taciturn to people he doesn't know well, especially when distracted. He approaches problems very logically, and is surprised when people around him don't do the same. To him, the world is an ordered, logical place where everything can be measured and understood if you simply know how.

He has set up his lair in Thurn, grand capital of the ancient empire of Jurgoth, which is now mostly buried in vegetation in the middle of the jungle. According to his research, the people of Jurgoth were of a particularly mystical bent, spending a lot of energy focusing on the stars and astrology. Their empire collapsed to a plague 3000 years ago that resisted all the healing of their wisemen and mystics. According to legend, they created a library of all their collected wisdom along with some of their greatest treasures and sealed it somewhere where it would last forever even after the last of them had died and crumbled to dust. Ricasthix seeks to find this lost library, partially for the learning contained within, partly for plundering the treasure within to add to his hoard.

Reason for Joining: to further his understanding of humanoids

Point in Canon: N/A

Why... 1/?

[identity profile] variedmemory.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Jisu
Character Name: Aizawa Yuuko
Canon: Kanon (gswap AU version of the Seasonverse)

Background: Let's cut to the explanation here first: This is a gswap AU of Kanon, and true to the spirit of the canon, is set up as another "variation upon a theme". As such, it takes elements from nearly every adaptation out there, plus a few things of my own invention considering the changes made; although I haven't read the light novels, there are bits of each route of the original game, the 2001 anime, Kanon Kazahana, the 2006 anime, the manga, the Kanon/AIR crossover manga, the Key/Visual Art's collectible card game, and Kanon: Another Story: Wonder Three. If anything looks really out-of-place to you, just ask, and I in all my Key fangirlism will attempt to justify or fix it. For the sake of convenience, let's refer to this particular world as G-variation, because we have to call it something.

Yuuko's life for the past sixteen years has honestly been very mundane, with one major exception. Aside from the winter of the year she was nine years old, she's lived in the city with her parents, both important businesspeople who do a lot of travelling. It was for that winter that both parents had to leave her at the same time, and she was shipped off halfway across the country to live in a snowy town with her uncle Akio and cousin Yuki. Then... something happened. Well, a lot of things happened, but Yuuko can't remember a thing about any of them. Even now, with Yuuko in her second year of high school, she simply finds it odd but not a major earth-shaking deal that she has a chunk of her memory missing. Of course, that's just because she can't remember how important it was.

2/?. This is HALF the length of my old history.

[identity profile] variedmemory.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
During that gap in her memory, Yuuko met four certain people. She became good friends with these people. She helped them through their problems. Then something happened, all she had on her mind was going home, and the last time she saw them, she made one major screwup that would haunt all parties involved for the rest of their lives if all parties involved hadn't repressed their memory of the incident in some form.

Tsukimiya Ayumu. A child whose mother had died, whom Yuuko befriended with food. After coming into possession of an angel doll, Yuuko insisted that the doll had magical properties, and she offered to grant him three wishes with it. On Yuuko's last day in town, Ayumu climbed a tree and fell from a terrible height.

Kawasumi Mahiro. Another stranger to town, he'd moved from far away to avoid the media circus around his healing powers. Yuuko befriended him and they would play every day in a field slated for construction. On Yuuko's last day in town, when the construction started, she wasn't there to comfort him.

A little fox Yuuko smuggled into the house. On Yuuko's last day in town, before she went to play with Ayumu, she forced herself to abandon it in the wild.

Minase Yuki. Yuuko's eager cousin, who had fallen in love with her. You guessed it -- he went to confess just as Yuuko was about to leave, and she snapped at him and ran.

Yuuko wouldn't talk about the trauma she'd faced on that day, and after months of ignoring Yuki's letters, she had completely repressed the memory. Everyone else did, too, to some extent. Yuki began to sleep to avoid the real world. Mahiro closed himself off to others and began to hate his healing ability; it manifested as "demons". The fox gave up all of his memories to become a human when Yuuko appeared again so that he'd be able to confront her for a short time before the other half of the miracle's price, his life, would have to be paid. As for Ayumu, he fell into a coma, and he, too, forgot the key details in order to project his spirit into the town.

It went like this, people believing their lives were normal and their hearts unharmed, for seven years.

By complete chance, Yuuko's parents had to go overseas again, this time for much longer. Rather than leave a high school girl living alone, they opted to send her to Akio's house again, at least until she graduated. When she arrived, everything seemed perfectly normal and even nice. She became more and more curious about what she'd forgotten, and the longer she stayed and the more people she met and decided to help, the more memories slowly came back to her. She met Ayumu (and thought he was kidnapping her, but that quickly got cleared up when she realized that he was a complete failget) and decided to help him look for something he'd lost; she met a stranger named Makoto who could only remember that he had a grudge against Yuuko, and Yuki talked her into taking the poor guy home; she met Mahiro, and through a series of coincidences ended up beating up "demons" in the school after hours.

Nena Trinity

[identity profile] gundamdreister.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Prof
Character Name: Nena Trinity
Canon: Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Background:
http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Nena_Trinity

Portal Location: An uninhabited island in the south pacific.

Personality:
Nena is mentally unstable. She's tempermental, her mood changing at the drop of the hat. She ignores civilian casualties caused by her battles. She once blew up an entire wedding party full of innocent people because she was tired and they were having fun. She is extremely fast to make judgments about people, good and bad alike. She shamelessly flirts with people she just met, only go threaten their lives seconds later, and all the while acts like it's no big thing.

In short, Nena is a little kid in a teenager's body. Take a spoiled brat and shove them through puberty all at once, with all the hormones that entails, and the approximate end result would be Nena. If this doesn't sound horrible to you, think about how little of a sense of empathy children have - they're assholes to other children because they don't really think of them as actual people yet. Nena's the same way - egotistical to the point of being a sadistic monster. She expects the world to be handed to her on a silver platter, and why not? Nobody's as SPECIAL as she is.

Oh yes, special. Nena is a half-Innovade, engineered from birth to be a Gundam Meister. Her job is to oppose the entire world if necessary, in order to create an era of peace for humanity, as a special snowflake of armed intervention! Or at least, that's how she thinks of it. In reality, she and her two brothers were more or less created to get screwed over at every turn. Later in season 1, this becomes pretty apparent to her, and her self-image starts to break down along with her lifestyle, as Trinity is hunted down from all sides, leaving nowhere to hide.

Speaking of Trinity, the only people anywhere in the world who Nena actually cares about are her two older brothers, Michael and Johann. The three of them grew up together, became Meisters together, and even fight together. They argue incessantly, but in the way of siblings, not the way of people who actually hate one another. The first time in canon where Nena is ever seen to be legitimately distraught is when Michael is killed - in addition to being a psychological blow to see her brother killed in front of her, it reminds Nena of something she had forgotten: She is mortal. This does not, however, lead her to caution and restraint - instead, it launches her into a cycle of revenge and paranoia that ultimately gets her killed.

Abilities and Powers:
Nena is a human/Innovade hybrid, which doesn't give her any real powers aside from glowy eyes and the ability to access Veda.

Reason for Joining: Kicks.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: After the recap episode in S1. Will be updating several times.

[identity profile] timetables.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Rift
Character Name: Dave Strider
Canon: MPSA: Homestuck

Background: all you want to know and more (http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Dave)

Setting Information: Already represented

Portal Location: Some place warm in the Last of Frost and Frogs (in other words wherever he set up camp to be Jade's server player).

Personality:

Dave is described from the get go, even before he appears on screen, as the "cool kid". Alternatively, an insufferable prick. Both are rather valid interpretations of his character. At first glance, he comes off as an extremely egotistical thirteen year old who thinks he is, to put it bluntly, the shit. He often goes on long rants about just how great and awesome he is, describing to his friends his amazing exploits and just why he is so deserving of the label of cool. He comes off as rather arrogant and condescending, but it quickly becomes fairly obvious that this is simply how he talks. As his friends, and readers soon recognize, he rarely says what he means, often exaggerating to an absurd degree or just downright saying the opposite of what he actually feels. Thus, while he at first seems rather dismissive and discourteous to his friends, it soon becomes obvious that he actually cares about them all a great deal, willing to go to great lengths on their behalf.

The personality he projects is more or less the result of his relationship with his brother, who he acknowledges as more or less the coolest person he knows. He goes to various lengths to both emulate and idolize his brother, while at the same time feeling a clear inferiority complex in regards to him. It's often observed by others that Dave needs to come out from his brother's shadow, implying that he has felt overshadowed by his brother for a great deal of his life. Despite his idolization of his Bro, the two also have something of a contentious rivalry of sorts, with both often trying to upstage and get the best of one another. His brother also happens to be his genetic brother (it's weird, I know), and is more or less his parental figure throughout his sole parental figure in life. Obviously this has greatly effected his growth and development. Dave is even willing to turn a blind eye to his brother's more questionable habits, particularly his somewhat disturbing fascination with puppets, dismissing it as merely "ironic". He more or less idolizes his brother to such a degree that he believes he can do no wrong, and thus even the strange things he does are cool or have some sort of greater purpose. At rare times, in extreme situations, Dave does come to realize that perhaps his brother is simply "too ironic" for his own good, but for the most part he hero worships his brother while at the same time trying to match or best him.

Despite how he talks and acts at times, he cares much more about his friends than he lets on. At times he can be dismissive and insulting of them, but they all seem to understand that that's simply how he talks. When push comes to shove, he has their backs. This is best illustrated in the timeline of the alternate Dave who becomes Davesprite; after various mistakes in the game lead to John and Jade's death, Dave chooses to press on with the game for months as far as he can go without them in order to learn more about the game and grow stronger. Once he reaches a point where he can progress no longer, he uses his abilities as the Knight of Time to go back and prevent their deaths. In his own rather heartfelt letter to John, he talks about how John may be a bit of a goofy kid at times, but that's what he likes about him. Despite always giving him a hard time, the two share a very genuine and close friendship where they trust each other quiet implicitly. As Dave says, he knows that one day John will likely do something stupid to get himself into trouble, and when that time comes Dave will be there to help him out of it.

[identity profile] timetables.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Dave has also come to have a rather interesting view on his own morality, particularly because of his ability to travel through time and see alternate time lines. As a result of this, he's seen his own dead corpse as the result of a mistaken choice in the past, which has lead him to understandably freak out. This is one of the few times he more or less loses the cool, calm and collected facade that he normally projects. Thanks to the dangerous nature of his power, and the fact that it can lead to "dead Daves piling up", he's grown to have a somewhat unique view on death as a whole. As he puts it, dead Daves are the enemy. When given the chance to kill an alternate version of himself from a different time line in order to achieve "God tier", a higher level of existence that would grant him a great deal more power, he's unable to do so. Even understanding that the other Dave is distinct from himself, and because he is from a doomed time line and thus fated to die no matter what, Dave is unable to do the deed himself despite the potential gain. Likewise, when one of his friends, Rose, suggests a plan to defeat the "last boss" of their session that involves the suicide of her dream self (a secondary self that exists while the primary self sleeps), Dave immediately rejects the idea and suggests that they find another one, even though Rose assures him that she would only be losing her dream self and thus would be fine overall.

As far as his hobbies and interests go, he's a huge fan of rap, often bursting into rhymes on his own and with no regard for the people he's subjecting them to or whether they wish to hear them. His turn tables are his most precious possessions, something he would never do anything to harm. He has a great passion for music in general, often interested in various underground bands. He also has a strange habit of always wearing sunglasses at all times, even indoors or while using a computer, likely due to a complex regarding his unusual red eyes. In addition, he runs various websites and blogs, in an effort to compete with his brother who does likewise, some of which are actually quite successful. In the world of Homestuck he's the creator of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, another webcomic that's also drawn by Andrew Hussie, the creator of Homestuck itself. All his websites are meant to be ironic in some nature, as evidenced by the quality of the art of his comic strip, which he intentionally draws poorly and includes jpeg artifacts, calling actual art skills "overrated".

Jade Harley l Homestuck l Reserved

[identity profile] lunchmuffs.livejournal.com 2011-04-09 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Katie
Character Name: Jade Harley
Canon: MSPA: Homestuck

Background: http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Homestuck
http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Jade_Harley

Setting Information: Already represented.

Portal Location: From Land of Frost and Frogs, Jade’s Planet: her room, more specifically.

Personality: Jade is quite unique, to say the least.

She’s extremely chipper, bubbly, optimistic, enthusiastic. In Homestuck, many characters have a ‘typing quirk’. For Jade, she merely types with a few exclamation points (!!!) at the end of some of her sentences, and has a habit of using emoticons, giving Homestuck’s readers the impression that Jade is in fact normally optimistic and quite friendly when first introduced through chatlogs. Like the other Hometuck kids, she appears to be quite close to the others--having a close relationship with John, Dave, and Rose. She’s extremely caring for her friends, often reassuring them that things will somehow be okay, and they can reach what goals they have in their games (i.e; to John: If anyone can save the world, it is probably you!!). She’s excitable, a bit naive, and can at times be a bit of a clutz. However, she did indeed grow up on an island. Because of that, she is somewhat ignorant of some things such as pop culture.

She is 13, mind you. She’s still a kid at heart despite everything that the Homestuck kids are currently going through in their canon--creating childish things and getting excited over the idea of celebrating Christmas on her planet after entering the game.

Jade seems to fall asleep on random occasions. She’s even said to John at one point in time that she far longer than the average person. However, she doesn’t tend to remember when she falls to sleep, nor is she aware of her narcolepsy (though, this was later revealed that Jade’s sleeping habits were due to one of the Trolls). Though, it’s not only her sleep that she tends to have a poor memory of--Jade tends to be forgetful in general, keeping various colored rubber bands on her fingers to remind her of important things.

However, beneath all of that air-headed optimism is someone quite intelligent and indeed someone who has gone through more than she lets on. From growing up alone (due to her Grandfather’s death when she was little, despite Jade’s claims that he is indeed alive) to having visions of the future in her dreams. Jade is knowledgeable in nuclear physics. Being the first one in the series to dream about Skaia and Prospit--Jade, in a way, starts off as more knowledgeably about Sburb than the other Homestuck kids.

Jade Harley l Homestuck l Reserved

[identity profile] lunchmuffs.livejournal.com 2011-04-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Though, Jade is not always constantly cheerful--rather, Jade does tend to lose her patience at some points in the series. Karkat is a good example of this. In fact, Karkat is perhaps the first character that Jade seems to snap at. However, even after being angry for quite a while at Karkat, she did eventually forgive him, and they began to maintain a strange ‘friendship’ of sorts, just as the other kids have with their other patron trolls. Another example is when encountering Jadesprite, who did nothing but cry and throw a fit upon appearing in Land of Frost and Frogs. Jade proceeded to respond to Jadesprite by repeatedly telling her to get together, even cursing and telling her to shut up over and over again.

As said, she cares deeply for her friends--putting herself in danger (although, it was her dreamself that had gone to help John) to protect them. She’s not afraid to do what she can to protect what, and those who are precious to her.

Abilities and Powers: -Jade is skilled with a rifle. This was partly due to her Grandfather providing Jade with rifles at a very young age. He was quite insistant that she carry said rifles with her whenever she wandered outside of their home.
-Although she claims that she isn’t psychic in any way, Jade has been able to predict many of the events in Homestuck before they would happen. However, this has to do with her dreams. Because her dream self has died, she has no way to predict any future events any longer.
-As said earlier in the application, Jade is very smart, despite her seemingly ditzy personality.

Reason for Joining: Considering Jade’s character--if people need help, and she has the ability to help them, she won’t hesitate to do that. Especially if she can return to where she was beforehand.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: Shortly after arriving in Land of Frost and Frogs.

Mu Hyeon

[identity profile] hungering-god.livejournal.com 2011-04-11 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: AOB or Annoying Optional Boss
Character Name: Mu Hyeon (Genbu)
Canon: Planeocracy (Shin Gensokyo)

Background: For countless years, the legendary undersea palace, the Ryugu Palace, has stood tall and proudly. The Dragon God within Ryugu Palace has long moderated the affairs of the ocean and its denizens. With the help of three other gods, Phoenix, Tortoise, and Tiger, the Dragon God managed to establish a mutual relationship between land and water. Dwellers of the skies and land would be allowed to eat fish from the sea to satisfy hunger, but all parties would observe and respect the balance between both worlds.

Genbu is the Tortoise God of the North who consented to this pact along with the other three gods; however, out of the four, her origins are slightly different. At one point, she was a youkai who sought to become a god by defeating and eating other youkai. If she could gain their power, then one day, she would have enough to rival the gods. Genbu ate her fill and more, but regardless, she retained mortality. One day, Genbu met and fought with a snake youkai, but no matter how much damage she inflicted, it shed its skin, completely regenerating itself. The youkai mocked Genbu, claiming she could never become a god with such that kind of a body.

Genbu ultimately lost the battle and was killed by the snake, but with the last of her energy, she consumed him. Becoming one with the snake youkai and many others, she transformed into a being neither living nor dead. Casting away her mortal body, Genbu obtained a power that rivaled the gods. As a wild, violent god, the Black Tortoise gained followers and faith through fear. She made mountains her domain and for years, she ruled sustaining off of monthly sacrifices. The Dragon God of Ryugu Palace one day sought to make a pact with her. Proud of her new body, Genbu declined thinking there was no benefit from following another god. Instead, she would eat the Dragon God as well, but her aggression was met with defeat. The Dragon God let Genbu live, beginning their partnership.

Re: Mu Hyeon

[identity profile] hungering-god.livejournal.com 2011-04-11 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Over time, Genbu began to change. She interacted with the other gods and often visited Ryugu Palace for feasts and celebrations. The Black Tortoise had her fill and would always laugh and joke along with the other three gods. While Genbu had more fun with the others than she had alone, she began seeing that there is more responsibility to being a god. Her actions must protect the balance of the land, skies, and water and failure to do so could result in an irregular flow of faith. In time, Genbu transformed from a violent god to a protector god.

These peaceful days were only temporary and the upcoming revolution in Gensokyo reverted her back into a violent god. The youkai began their insurrection and broke through the Hakurei Barrier, killing the miko in the process. The barrier around the Ryugu Palace fell just as easily and the youkai began their plan to kill the four gods. Various gods all around the lands were somehow being killed and it wouldn't be too long until dragon, tortoise, phoenix, and tiger all met the same fate. Genbu devised a plan and negotiated with the youkai in order to save herself. As a youkai once before, she thought that she would have a better chance of gaining their trust. Ryugu Palace would be destroyed, but if she could still save her friends, it would be worth it.

Unfortunately, one of the terms for Genbu's survival was that she had to personally kill the other three gods. Regardless, in order to save herself, she did so anyway. The other youkai congratulated and welcomed her among them, but instead of joining them, she decided to disappear from the public eye. Shin Gensokyo was soon established once the old ways were completely eradicated. Genbu replayed each day in her mind the time she killed her friends and constantly asked herself whether becoming a god was worth all of this. The Black Tortoise decided to spend her days in obscurity finding ways to rebuild Ryugu Palace in an effort to repent. For the sake of that goal, Genbu changed her name to Mu Hyeon, soon becoming an Operative. As each day passes, however, the wish to repent is slowly being overshadowed by nihilistic cravings for an end to the rotten, new order.

Masahiko Yoichi (OC) 1/?

[identity profile] bewitchingtales.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Shini
Character Name: Masahiko Yoichi (Planeo OC) 妖智 真彦
Canon: Shin Gensokyo

Background: Three Hundred Years ago, a white kit was born to a pair of foxes. Conventional wisdom dedicates that a white kit will not live to adulthood, and if then, it would lead a shorter life.

Conventional wisdom did not count on the young kit having an unusual cunning or the wisdom to duck his head and he survived, outliving his parents and his siblings. The white fox too took a mate and had children, and he outlived them all as well, and his children’s kits as well. The White Fox watched as the world changed around him and adapted, avoiding human sight even as he crept into their homes and stole their food, evading yokai and beasts alike, their jaws only snapping on the fur on the tip of his tail. Later in life, he would often lead one to another, barking in laughter as he reduced his predators by one each time.

After eighty years of life, the fox decided to move his den to an abandoned shrine feasting on the rats that gathered under the boards and the sparrows that soiled the grounds, and curiosity got him to dig up old lanterns and other artifacts that he meticulously cleaned and stored at the feet of the shrine’s alter. After ten years of this simple, peaceful life The White Fox was taken with a strange yearning for sleep and retired, dreaming restlessly as he mind followed the shadow of a vixen along old trails worn down by age and time, each time the shadow alighted on the shadow of a human, or a yokai, the White Fox saw their wishes inside his eyes and when he finished following the vixen, he saw it rest on the shrine’s roof, revealing one final wish: a dream of a human shrine keeper and emas hanging from the empty racks.

Re: Masahiko Yoichi (OC) 2/?

[identity profile] bewitchingtales.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
As the shadow faded The White Fox awoke on a mat as new strange thoughts filled his mind, and as he stood up, he stumbled realizing that he was on two feet instead of four. A decade had past as he slept and he had grown a second tail, becoming a kitsune. At first he spent the years looking for the shadow-vixen in his dream only to realize that she does not exist in the real world, but he could sense that she wasn’t dead. At a lost for what to do, he spent of rest of his first hundred years past as the kitsune studied the world around him with new eyes, learning to control his magic by experimentation, and studying the artifacts and scrolls left by shrine keepers long dead, eventually learning to read and write, the history of the shrine, and the folklore surrounding the kitsune and other yokai.

Dubbing himself Yoichi Masahiko, he stole clothes and appearing a ten-year-old boy, he went among humans to understand the dreams he had. There’s been times he was chased off as his true form was revealed, but a failure is lesson learned and he soon was able to better understand the people that once hunted him. Masahiko quickly found that many of them weren’t actually happy with their lot, and even some of the yokai suffer from a similar state.

As the second century past, he learned how to fulfill the hidden wishes with his unique ability, trading his service for favors and goods, joining up with an older, crafty Baku called Amaya Chiharu to learn the art of dream walking from her.

She took advantage of his general naivety and stole many of his treasures and almost got her hands on his ball. Furious, Masahiko chased after her and they fought whenever they met, accumulating in the both of them getting detained after causing too many incidents. Chiharu managed to bribe her way out of trouble and vanished.

After a decade of cooling his heels, he thought about those dreams again and realized what the last was about – the shadow-vixen was a remnant of a god, who wanted to live again. He reluctantly put his desire for revenge on Chiharu on the backburner and looked for humans willing to worship the god. He eventually came onto the idea of joining CO, perhaps the right human is among the other-worlders, or if not, they could prove helpful in finding that person, having outside eyes. And he could use them as a way to get back at Chiharu.

And it just sounded cool.

He swallowed his pride and apologized for the incident to clear his record, and became his own kind of operative, trading information for money and doing spy work until he had enough to bribe an official to let him join.

Luka Millfy | 1/3 (It's only 3 'cuz LJ sucks)

[identity profile] gokaiger-yellow.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Dessa
Character Name: Luka Millfy / Gokai Yellow
Canon: Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger

Background:
[Link is in 3rd comment]
Like the other Gokaigers, not much is known about Luka’s history. What is known, is that she came from a poor area of a planet conquered by the Zangyack, where she helped the orphan children as best she could by providing food for them. She came to the Zangyack’s attention as a thief who stole high-quality energy crystals from their storehouses, presumably to buy food for the children.

Sometime before the start of the series, she met up with Marvelous and joined his crew, both as his lookout/infiltration and reconnaissance expert, and as Gokai Yellow.

Setting Information:

Earth
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (Super Sentai)

Ability Changes: None
Ability Limitations: None
Form Restrictions: Theoretically human. However, given that Earth is used to aliens and spirit creatures and humanoid animals, anything is possible, really.
Social Restrictions: Equivalent to real-world Earth.
Notes: Warning: Space Pirates, Warning: Aliens, Warning: Super Sentai, Warning: Cheesy Fighting
Additional Information: Given that Power Rangers-only abilities have been used by the Gokaiger in the relevant forms, all 34 previous Super Sentai series, as well as all Power Rangers series are canon and part of the larger “Super Sentai” galaxy.
[Link is in 3rd comment]

Portal Location: The entrance to the crow’s nest on the Gokai Galleon

Personality:
If one were to look at Luka from an outsider’s perspective, they’d see an ambitious woman who would do almost anything for money or shiny things. However, people who know her better know that there’s more to her than just greed, even if they don’t know her reasons behind her actions.

Something you’d notice when you get to know her better, is that while she acts aloof at times, she’s actually quite caring. She’s said that she needs money to fulfill her dream, but most wouldn’t guess that that need for money comes from not being able to help the poor, starving children from her home. Additionally, she seems to be quite close with Ahim, likely due in part to them being the only women on the crew, but also because she feels bad for what Ahim has gone through. She also seems at least fairly close to Marvelous and Joe, understanding them better than the others do.

Luka also seems a bit rough around the edges, and easily distracted by treasure and rings. Okay, she is a bit rough around the edges and easily distracted by treasure, but she also pays attention to a lot of things that others might not notice, and she pays attention to people and their choices, especially the reasoning behind their actions. She also has a habit of insulting people, friend or foe, though the former isn’t done mean-spiritedly, just snarky. She can also be bossy, taking charge when Marvelous isn’t around and ordering Don to do things (of course, Joe’s apathetic, and Ahim is too nice, so it could just be that she likes bossing Don around).

One thing that isn’t something hidden, is that she has a tendency not to think before she acts. This isn’t to say that she isn’t smart, or that she doesn’t know what she’s doing, but she is impulsive, and doesn’t want to waste the time considering her options. If it seems like it’ll work, she’ll try it. She’s also a bit impatient, preferring the quick result, and getting bored if she has to wait. However, even though she speaks her mind, she gets annoyed when others do the same and she doesn’t like what they have to say.

While she’s usually up for a fight, she also knows when to retreat. At the same time, even in a fight, she’s not above a bit of silliness, especially if it gets her closer to what she wants.

Luka Millfy | 2/3

[identity profile] gokaiger-yellow.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Abilities and Powers: Luka, by use of her Mobirate and the Ranger Keys, has the ability to transform into any Super Sentai member*, and use their abilities**. Additionally, she is a skilled fighter, both with gun and saber, and she can not only dual-wield sabers, but attach them to grappling hooks and use them as ranged weapons as well.

Additionally, she has keen eyesight, and is skilled at infiltration and reconnaissance.

Reason for Joining: To search for treasure, of course!

Position Desired: Agent, Infiltration Squad

Point in Canon: Episode 6

Notes: Given the Ranger Keys and the Legendary War, how would the Super Sentai world work if we ever got a character from an earlier Super Sentai and/or Power Rangers series? Would they not have their powers if they went to her time period, or would the powers be duplicated? (I’m assuming in C.O. the powers would just be duplicated).

Vriska Serket - Homestuck - Not Reserved 1/????????

[identity profile] br8kspider.livejournal.com 2011-04-18 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Luminitrium
Character Name: Vriska Serket
Canon: Homestuck

Background: http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Vriska_Serket

Portal Location: Somewhere near the top of the Veil's Asteroid Base.

Setting Info: Already done with.

Personality: A troll, one of noble blue blood, who has been commonly known by her friends mostly for her bitchiness that could be summed up by these words 'bluh bluh huge bitch' and everyone would know who exactly you were talking about. Even if it happens to be just one part of her personality, it certainly is a part of her that will have a hard time disappearing. She is someone who would complain about anything ever if it annoys her, and if she finds a situation boring she wouldn't hesitate to complain there. In fact, she may even take it a step further and try to make it a little more exciting -- usually by being antagonistic in her own insufferable ways. Fortunately, it seems she may be less likely to use her other method -- mind control -- to manipulate her way to get what she wants. Doesn't mean that she would not consider it in less than a second and actually go along with the idea.

She also loves to roleplay, although her "characters" that she has "invented" just for this -- Marquis Spinneret Mindfang (based on her ancestor) and her spidersona -- appear to be less than joyful to interact with her (if not somehow worse).

Vriska happens to be someone who would always like to have the situation go the way she wanted, and if it doesn't she can be prone to acting out on her feelings of disappointment. Needless to say this happens to include lots of yelling and possible acts of violence (immaturity abounds, everyone when this one doesn't get her way!). Not to mention that she is the type who you would refer to as being "sly" although not in the way you think she would be. She is capable of making plans up on the fly, although her manipulation prowess relies actually more on her own efforts than one would usually think (since she usually does this via mind control). In a way, this could be a way of saying she does at least possess a good amount of strategic skill (or rather resourcefulness).

She can be pretty dead-set on achieving her goals when she sets them, placing her best efforts into them to make sure she succeeds. Her determination is almost neverending in this retrospect and it would be hard to dissuade her from continuing forth when she has it in her mind to win. After all, if there is one thing Vriska likes the most it is being a winner. Like that desire, her confidence, or rather arrogance is deeper than the indian ocean, and where at least half of the bitchiness comes from. Then again, it isn't something that isn't without substance -- she did happen to achieve all of the levels. All of them.

Underneath her abrasive, confident, spiderbitch exterior happens to be where her much more vulnerable side lies. It is one of which hasn't been seen yet except when she explodes at someone (Kanaya) once for simply helping her. It is the interior that houses her myriad of insecurity about herself is allowed to fester where no one else could see it, being the main drive behind most of her hideous actions besides the ones that were necessary. She happens to also be shown to be capable of having 'guilt' after her killing of Tavros, something that was once thought to be impossible to exist within the bosom of such a bitch. Then there is the fact that she can also be willing to help someone she genuinely cares about, although however she goes about doing that can appear that she is just being antagonistic depending on who she is helping and how she feels about them. She also considers stopping Jack (demon with first guardian (omnipotent) powers (mostly space-time warping)) now a higher priority than her life.

As a note for small eccentricities, Vriska has a thing for breaking 8-balls that are commonly used for fortune telling. She tends to stress her words to eight syllables sometimes and type her b's as 8's when she is on a computer -- apparently she also talks the same way she types. Her fascination with the number 8 probably has to do with one of her eyes having eight pupils.

Abilities and Powers: As a troll, she is naturally has more stamina than a human does -- this also applies to areas according to spell and strength. Although she doesn't really exercise herself in the latter category as much, it is still a considerable good amount above average due to her species and her godtier status. Her speed is pretty high, as she can now teleport, and given her title as Thief of Light that is to be expected.

Luck: She reigns over this domain practically, although it is most concentrated through her most trusted weapon...the Fluorite Ocetet. A eight-sided dice with about 16,777,216 possibilities, it is powered by chance (and of course, in other words, fate) and is highly unpredictable, the most fortunate results being disasterous to an intensely strong foe. Each dice is considered unique in their own separate numbers -- a roll does need read "64" but instead "88888888". There are various techniques produced from a roll, and some of which are known appear to be summoning a Musclebeast, causing a Blizzard, summoning a Weasel, allowing the dice to be rolled twice to combine a devastating addition of both rolls into one attack, Dutton, Naptime (presumably causing pplz to nap), and Gulliotine. The Gulliotine de la Marquise is designed to behead her opponent, even fitting to the size necessary for the target.

Mind Control/Telepathy: She utilizes this technique resourcefully, as she can use it to put someone to nap, control them, or communicate with them via thoughts. It works on trolls, especially with those with weak wills and those with an intense will like Terezi there is no ability to influence very well. It is unknown how well the scope of her abilities works on humans, but she is seen able to put them asleep from a whole universe away. She can presumably talk to them from afar too, via this ability.

Reason for Joining: She thinks she may be able to figure a way out to assist her friends from being killed, I mean come on. She'll take every chance she gets.

Position Desired: Councilor.

Vriska, in her world on Alternia was basically what you would call a blueblood and thus she was involved in no doubt in some way in some political shenanigans. Although, it may have mostly been when she was culling thousands of trolls for feeding her lusus, a giant spider. She also messed around with someone (of higher blood, thus of higher nobility) in a hate relationship who was harboring already genocidal feelings for landwelling trolls like her. She terminated that after a while, getting bored when she was seeing that it obviously wouldn't work out. As a last note, her crazy culling spree also helped out Eridan (the seadweller she hanged around with) be able to help the Empress-to-be to be able to feed her Horror Terror lusus.

She later on becomes one of the twelve responsible for the creation of a universe, wherein a specific group of humans end up going through the same trials she and twelve other trolls do in the 'medium', which is like a catch all phrase for basically universal creating set ups that one has to complete successfully. Later, though, Vriska lends her aid to a human from that universe to ascend all the way to godtier, just like she did.

Point in Canon: Vriska is being taken from after she has her conversation with John, following Tavros' death at her hands.

Player Name: Ethan
Character Name: Heero Yuy
Canon: Gundam Wing

Background: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Heero_Yuy#History

Portal Location: A closet in Relena's home. Not her closet, that would be weird.

Personality: Heero has a reputation for being more of a robot than his Gundam. He was trained to believe that emotions interfere with missions and combat, and since he’s almost constantly on missions he essentially doesn't display them at all. He’s icy and stoic, if not as formal with his speech mannerisms as most of that type are. It’s not unknown for him to totally ignore attempts at conversation, and he avoids social gatherings like the plague.

While he’s a compassionate pacifist at heart and despises battle and killing, he recognizes his mission as essential for the greater justice and peace, and is more than willing to kill to do what he believes must be done. If someone manages to make him get attached through the stone veil, though, he can find himself consciously willing, but unable, to kill them—like Relena, whose life he compulsively saves, even though he needed her dead at first. His conflicting policies on emotion stem from accidentally killing that girl and her dog. It's kind of hard to tell he has guilt issues, but in the heat of a debate about peace and war, it'll come up.

Despite his training to set aside his humanity on cue, Heero’s greatest philosophy in life is to live and act according to one’s emotions, as passed down to him by Odin Lowe. His dedication to his mission doesn’t come from loyalty; he decides what's important to him personally and works for whoever shares that ideal, as long as it takes.

Heero is sort of okay with teamwork but not the easiest person to work with—he acts on his own ideas, frequently at the expense of his allies, and he's extremely private and individualistic. It should go without saying that communication will be a problem; he's impuslive and reckless regardless of whether or not he's the only one at risk.

Abilities and Powers: He's a ridiculously talented mecha pilot, though upon entry to CO will not own a mecha. He is basically a Highlander—surviving self-detonations and falls down cliffs—and he's strong enough to karate chop knock ordinary humans unconscious very easily.

He is also a talented hacker/researcher/stalker/basically anything secret agentesque.

Reason for Joining: His emotions told him to.

Okay, no, generally speaking he doesn't mind lending his talents to an important cause. He'd pitch in without joining if he could do that without being mind-wiped or something.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: End of Endless Waltz
