Application

Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.

-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:

1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.

If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.

-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.

-You may only have one application in queue at a time. If you would like to submit a second app, you must wait until your first has been processed.

Application Template:
Looked over the community? Brushed up on all 31,561,021 Confuto Ordinatio rules and regulations? Filled out all your forms in triplicate? Looks like you're ready to get that Gate Key! Just fill out the following form and submit it to the Executive Subcommittee of Other-Planar Affairs! That Gate Key should be yours in 5-7 business days!

The following is an alternate form that can be used in place of a musebox sample post. It takes the form of an application and interview as if the character were applying for a job. Respond to the questions in-character, if you or your character doesn't know what they're asking for indicate it in some way. The character can lie if doing so is in character, but indicate they are doing it by writing "[LIE]" before the answer to the question.

Lucca Ashtear, 1/2

[identity profile] hot-engineer.livejournal.com 2010-03-22 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: IrkenIckyChips or "Eek" [livejournal.com profile] badsnackfood
Character Name: Lucca Ashtear
Canon: Chrono Trigger

Background: The planet Guardia had a parasite. A gargantuan monster that punched through the very crust far into prehistory and rested in the mantle, influencing the species on the crust, taking what DNA it wanted, and eventually sapping the very lifeforce of the planet itself. Lucca was one of a handful of normal humans who, through a series of incredible events, managed to gain the strength to fight and destroy the parasite and save their planet from a horrible, bleak future. Lucca herself, was responsible for discovering the initial means to go through time portals ("Gates") by creating a temporal flux focii manipulator to use them (Called a "Gate Key". Go figure.) With it, she and her friends rescued chancellors in ancient castles, battled robots in futuristic factories, and rode pterosaurs through the sky. And all before turning seventeen years old.

Setting Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_trigger

Portal Location: Planet Guardia, Leene Square, 1001 a.d.

Personality: Lucca has a typical gadgeteer girl personality base; curious, driven, ernest, and technical to a fault. She has a tendency to focus overmuch on what she's doing at the time, especially if it's a puzzle or a thing that needs fixing. She's been known to put herself in as a guinea pig to test her own inventions, to the point where one wonders if time-travel has strained her sense of self-preservation. She also tends to speed-talk in technobabble, especially when nervous.

She is a fire mage, and as such is a little bit of a firebug... in the sense that she just doesn't get why everyone else is so freaked out by it. If properly controlled, fire is nothing to be afraid of! Granted, her definition of "properly controlled" is a little loose by most people's perspective...

As mentioned before, Lucca is post-game. Which means that a seventeen-year-old girl has ridden dinosaurs and rescued chancellors but she's also witnessed some horrific things, and some that go way past horrific and into the "soul-splinteringly abhorrent" category. It's affected her, but it's subtle. I wouldn't call her "unstable", but there is a bolt or two missing from her infrastructure, if you know what I mean. She can be prone to overkill, quick to draw conclusions especially when there are monsters involved, and while she doesn't sleep with her Wondershot under her pillow, it's always charged and in its holster on the bed-post.

Reason for Joining: Post-adventure boredom. Every hero's gone through it. Eighteen months of complete and total focus on saving the world, and after that... there's nothing. Yeah, you can rest on your laurels and be loved by the people of the land and all that, but what is there to fill your days? Even she can only build so many robots. She'll grasp at anything if it means that she's doing something to help a higher purpose again. The opportunity revealed itself in the form of some spur-of-the-moment fiddling with her gate key and seeing just what would happen if all the dials were turned up at once. Let's just hope she can figure out the settings to get BACK.

Position Desired: Agent, but her experience in temporal influence, problem-solving and investigation, not to mention her ability to fight, may make her a good Enforcer.

Point in Canon: Post-ending, Magus killed, Black Omen destroyed but took Epoch to the Day of Judgement to defeat Lavos instead, so no fancy time machine (at least, not until she rebuilds one). Character is also set before any dovetail into Chrono Cross canon, and probably won't follow CC's storyline because of it.

Notes: Lucca's in an old account used for Dear_Multiverse, but I am more or less rebooting the character to play in Planeocracy. I haven't played on D_M for years anyway... Please disregard any posts that seem out-of-place, I'll try to clean it up as I go along.

Sample Post:

Name: Lucca Ashtear
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Home Plane Identification Number: 330-873-986-560 X-Y-Z-D format planar angular alignment 2732, azimuth 2310 4788232
Visitor Identification Number: 7328904

Reason for requisitioning a Gate Key: I'm looking for a position here and I was told I had to either register mine or get another one. And for the record I REALLY hope you don't have to confiscate mine. Getting here was a great triumph in my research in dimensional fabric manipulation and my Gate Key was proof that I've done it! And besides, it's got a little bit of sentimental value.

Intended use of the Gate Key: Needed to pass the dimensional membrane. To... work on missions, of course.

Favorite Color: Orange.

Measurements (Female applicants only): 68 idi by 46 idi by 66 idi.

Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: Helped to save the world for a huge evil alien parasite, liberated ancient humans from dominant reptilian race, rearranged the course of time as we know it, etc.

Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities: Can cast elemental fire spells, though slightly out of practice.

Psychiatric Evaluation Code: I was supposed to be evaluated?

Hobbies: I'm an inventor by trade, or at least I was going to be ever since I was little. Runs in the family.

Education Background: Home-schooled.

Work Experience: Technically, none.

Favorite Plant and/or Animal: A Nu! (Large, blue creature from my world. Incredibly strong.)

Interview:

What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?: Turning the dials all the way up on my Gate Key to see what happens! Wait, that's not what you're really asking is it? Alright, alright, ever since I found out I could move within the confines of spacetime I've always been curious as to what else was out there, beyond the flow of time itself, and now I know!

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: My dad, no contest. He taught me everything he knew about machines, and that there's no problem you can't solve if you look at it in just the right way.

So how 'bout them Tenbraks eh? Eh? Catch the game? 52-7, I told Janice in Accounting, I said "those Balthims, they're just not up to snuff this year," but no, she said "I'll bet you 20 plat they're gonna take the banner." Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?: ...Huh? Sorry, I had a warning flash on my mech-helmet screen just now and I had to make sure the thing wasn't going to short out again, what'd you say?

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: I like the idea of spending my time making sure the rightful order of things is in place. And something about this place makes me feel like a small fish in a big pond again. That's sort of exciting, you know what I mean?

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: Uh... Mechanical savvy, fire magic, extensive experience with temporal causality in both paradoxal-tolerant and -intolerant systems... uh... and I'm a pretty good shot, too. I'm better with bombs, but who isn't?

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: Sssshure! Fire away!

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: That depends on who you're asking. Most of the people who said we were meddling, were themselves meddling with things THEY sholdn't have been meddling in!

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: "Justice" is kind of a funny way to put it, but yeah. I do whatever I need to, to make things right again.

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: It's gotten to the point where I don't feel like I'm really ALIVE if I don't work for something bigger than myself.

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Great! So, uh... why'd you need to know my measurements on that application form, anyway? I'm not going to have to wear a weird-looking uniform, am I?

Player Name: Blackbluesock
Character Name: Vaughn
Canon: Harvest Moon: The Sunshine Islands

Background: Not too terribly much is known about Vaughn. He's stand-offish, and says little, on top of that, isn't seen on the islands beyond Monday and Tuesday. What is known is that he has no family, makes little money, prefers animals to people, and has adopted Mirabelle and Julia as an alternative family. He's also only seen on the islands on Monday and Tuesday, but is this really the case?

Setting Information
The land of the Sunshine Islands is an interconnecting set of islands of which resides a tight knit island community. On Verdue Island resides most of the residents and many different shops meant to cover all needs. A general store, an animal store, a material and building store, as well as two restaurants. There is also a large farm. Meadow Island is where celebrations are held. Mushroom Island is where Mushrooms can be harvested, and the wild Shea and his father Wada live there. Mystic Island is where the Harvest Goddess, her church, and the Witch Princess can be found. Wild Animal Island is where all sorts of wildlife can be found.

In this land, a simpler way of life prevails, and most people engage in outdoor activities when they aren't hard at work.

Anything those two don't cover can be found in the general guide: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/104/1044014p1.html

Portal Location: Vaughn's boat.

Personality: Vaughn is a stand-offish and loner sort of his personality. His standard greeting is that 'People should leave me to do his business' He's very job oriented, and believes in doing well. Thus, he finds socialization a distraction. His other reasons is that he's simply feels awkward socializing with people and never knows what to say. As such, he prefers animals, as they're simple, and never cause him stress and trouble and all that nonsense.

When talked to, as he isn't a fan of idle chitchat, so he tends to be blunt and to the point. As such, he can easily offend without realizing it, and when he does, he's at a loss on how to fix things.

He's not totally anti-social, and if someone isn't put off by his attitude and willing to give him a chance, he'll tolerate them, and let them into his life. Only if they don't cause drama, then he'll refuse to have anything to do with them. He doesn't mind the chance to get to know how to interact with people, although is seems that he's simply not good at it. Main point is that while he's not social, he won't reject people who don't mind his world view.

Reason for Joining: Hope that this job would pay more then his last one, as well as intrigued by the idea of being able to make a difference.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: After all the islands have been raised.

Notes: Warning: Nice people. Warning: Cows.

Alice Elliot 1/3

[identity profile] blackenedchaos.livejournal.com 2010-03-23 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Nadia
Character Name: Alice Elliot
Canon: Shadow Hearts

Background: I couldn't find a wiki that has more than a paragraph on her, so have a hopefully concise background (yeah, right, I tl;dr like crazy).

Not much was really said about Alice's background before the game started. But we do know she comes from Germany, more specifically Munich. She also has family in Domremy.

Alice's father is a priest in the Church. Alice herself also serves alongside her father. Her position wasn't actually stated, but she is referred to as "Sister" so she obviously has some position among the clergy. It can be assumed she has at least a nominal education, not exactly a normal thing for a woman in that time period. But it would be guessed that she can read and write and her way of speaking shows she is educated. She also appears to know a few languages since she was able to travel in Europe with little trouble.

Unfortunately, her life became very abnormal quickly when her father found himself in trouble and a man named "Roger Bacon" was after him. While he was meeting with someone who was supposed to help him, he ended up murdered.

Alice was able to get away from this unharmed, but not too long afterwards found herself captured by the Japanese Army and on a train in China to take her to Japan.

This is where she ended up meeting Yuri. The train carrying her was attacked by "Roger Bacon" and everyone on board had been murdered, quite gruesomely at that. Alice would have been captured had it not been for a strange reaction between her and Yuri that caused Bacon to retreat for the time being.

Yuri swore to protect her after rescuing her. He claimed that a voice told him to protect her, and well, she had to admit he was helpful, but her first impression of him was not very good. If anything, she thought Yuri was horribly rude and a pervert at that. Still, there was little she could do because she tried to run away and ended up nearly being eaten by monsters. Yuri protected her again so she agreed to stay with him, deciding he was probably the lesser of two evils even if he was a pervert and very strange.

Her feelings against him didn't last long, soon after that he ended up falling unconscious and had a horrible nightmare and that had worried Alice greatly. If anything was going to make her like this man, making her feel she needs to help him is a good start. Those nightmares he had really showed just how troubled he was and then later she even heard the voice he did. He might be strange, but then she wasn't exactly the most normal girl either. Truly, they were two of a kind. And while he may have a horrible attitude, she realized he had a good heart.

They continued running away from the Japanese army, Bacon and it also seemed another person was after Alice, a Sage by the name of Dehuai. Between all of these people, Yuri and Alice sure found no end of trouble, but they did at least find a few allies. A sage by the name of Zhuzhen and a spy by the name of Marguerite ended up joining them.

Eventually even their aid turned out to not be enough and Dehuai got a hold of Alice to use her for one of his rituals. Yuri and the others did go to save her, and they did find her, but it was too late to stop the ritual and the man had summoned a godlike creature called Seraphic Radiance.

And Alice could only stand by and watch as Yuri alone tried to stop the creature by fusing with it, and failing. She tried to find him, but he was nowhere to be found.

Alice Elliot 2/3

[identity profile] blackenedchaos.livejournal.com 2010-03-23 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
But Alice didn't give up hope on him. She knew that Yuri was strong and as long as she had no news that he was dead, she was going to keep on looking for him. So she decided to start a business with Zhuzhen and Marguerite to perform exorcisms. Between her skills and the skills Zhuzhen had, they were quite effective. And the business served well to make sure they found out about strange happenings that could potentially be Yuri.

Eventually they did find him while investigating a problem in a small village. The problem was actually unrelated to Yuri, but while investigating it, they met the lord of the Blue Castle who ended up hiring them to deal with a demon who took up residence in one of his towers.

That demon was Yuri. Alice was so glad to find him and so relieved to find that he was alive, but he wasn't in good shape at all. He was barely coherent and fighting with things that were in his mind. He was basically wanting death.

Somehow, Alice was able to enter the graveyard in his mind and she bargained with the four masks to be allowed to see Yuri. To do this, she had to give her soul for the chance to bring his back.

Thankfully, she was successful, she was able to save Yuri's life. And for the time being she was fine, but she knew someday the masks would come to claim her own life. However, she tried to keep that a secret from Yuri, because she didn't want him to know just how much she cared if he lived or died. To her it didn't matter what happened to her as long as he was fine.

He found out eventually, and wasn't happy to know about this. Still, there wasn't much he could do in the meantime, since Bacon had come back to the forefront and was causing trouble.

A bunch more stuff happened and they eventually did track down Bacon and found out he was actually the man Alice's father had met the night he was killed, a man named Cardinal Albert Simon. Roger Bacon was actually the the Cardinal's teacher, and the nicest lich that could possible exist in the world, though a bit strange and a pervert. They also eventually met the woman who was the voice in Yuri's head, a woman named Koudelka Issant.

After all this, they went to face Albert Simon at last and to stop him from summoning a god to destroy the world. They were successful with this and the world was indeed saved.

And then Yuri was going to go to Munich with Alice to visit with her family, but on the train there, she died in her sleep. Before that point is where she will be coming from.

Setting Information: Same canon as Yuri, just way earlier timeline wise.

Portal Location: Outside Roger Bacon's house.

Personality: Alice may be the healer character in her canon, but she is definitely no complete wimp, even if she really is no fighter.

All Alice really cares about is helping people. She doesn't care if that means trouble for her, if someone is in danger, she will do what they can to help the person. Considering she sold her soul just for the mere chance to help Yuri, this is a very telling fact of how far she will go.

She can't stand to see someone suffering, especially someone she cares about. Interestingly, she's not really bothered by things like sickness. She was the only one in the party after all who could deal with Yuri's seasickness when everyone else was just totally grossed out.

Mostly, she's a lot tougher than she looks. She might be a gentle girl who appears unable to hurt a fly, but when it comes down to it, she can handle herself in a tough situation. Even if she's hurting, her thought will be to move forward and do what she can to solve the problems at hand, but she won't seem callous or unfeeling because of this. She just understands very well that breaking down won't solve any problems.

Player Name: Prof
Character Name: Three Mischevious Fairies (Sunny Milk, Luna Child, Star Sapphire)
Canon: Touhou Project

Background:
http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Three_Mischievous_Fairies

Portal Location:
Inside a fairy-sized (awkwardly small for humans) house in a tree.

Personality:
Since this is three characters, rather than just one...

Sunny Milk is the ringleaer of the three fairies. She at least claims to be the smartest one; she's at least the most ambitious, and has her moments of cleverness. However, this is somewhat offset by her inflated ego. Once she gets one foot in the door, she builds momentum, quickly getting into the mindset that she can get away with anything. This usually ends with her in over her head, and she's not nearly as good at talking her way out of sticky situations as she is at talking her way into them in the first place. She is easily distracted/lured out with delicious food.

Luna Child is the grumpiest of the three fairies. She's the voice of snark in the party, and also the voice of complaint. In terms of personality, she fits the role of the Smart One of the team... but in practice, she's probably the least intelligent of the three. She usually gets dragged into Sunny's schemes, and frequently ends up taking the fall for her. Her favorite prank is theft, most notably of coffee beans (coffee is her favorite drink). However, due to lacking in common sense, she uses her sound-dampening ability even when it would only serve to give her away by making everything quiet.

Star Sapphire is the most relaxed and easygoing of the three fairies. She usually winds up going along with Sunny's schemes because she's a doormat. However, unlike the other two fairies, she possesses a certain degree of common sense, which helps her stay (relatively) out of trouble. That combined with her radar ability means that she's usually the first to escape, leaving the other two to take the fall for themselves while she goes home. When off the job, she's kind of floaty, and kind of an airhead, getting distracted by weird, nonsensical things, like how wonderful it is that the American Flag has so many stars on it.

As a group, the Three Fairies are dedicated pranksters. It is their favorite passtime - coming up with new and creative pranks, then utilizing their powers in creative ways to carry them out. They have a tendency to bit off more than they can chew, though, due to a lack of common sense and planning skills. This is compounded by the fact that, like most fairies, they have insatiable curiosity.

Character Name: Sara Greyson
Canon: Original Canon

Background: Sara was born to a normal family of a fisherman and his wife. Due to fish being the most reliable food source she lived in decent luxury. When she was about five she created strange black flames on her arms that froze anything it touched, including herself after a few minutes. It didn’t take long for the military to find out and dragged her off to be trained as a solider. One of the first things they did was give her special bracelets that suppressed her powers until she could control them

On the base where she was to be trained she was but into a squad of four other children like her, Marcus, Drake, Matthew and Lisa. She trained alongside the other for many years, under going cruel and inhuman training that had at least one member of the squad in the hospital every couple of months. It was there where Sara understood her powers. She could only create the flames on her own body and they could only spread to anything she touches. Seeing this problem she was given a sword as a weapon, modified by another mutated human to be immune to her flames. It wouldn’t be until she and her team was about fifthteen and was sent on their first mission. However they were ambushed by monsters on the way back and one of the members, Marcus was killed due to the fact that the leader Drake had failed to follow orders. Their superiors seeing this death as a failure punished the remaining members, reinforcing the idea to follow all orders.

They went out on more missions that went better than their first. Eventually when Sara was eighteen while defending a caravan a group of bird monsters attacked. Drake orders the rest of the squad to keep going while he fights the monsters on his own. Sara tries to stay with him but he slaps her, reminding her of her orders. Sara reluctantly leaves him, feeling like she betrayed him despite following orders. Drake died due to injuries he gained during the battle.

The next mission they took Sara and her squad found a portal. After reporting it to her superiors she and her squad were ordered inside to see what it lead to. After explaining about Confuto Ordinatio, their superiors wanted one of them to join to learn more about it. Sara volunteered due to her feelings of guilt over Drake’s death and was sent in to join as a Agent.

Setting Information: The world is a post apoplyctic Earth. Terrorists used a biological weapon on the US but it didn’t work as expected. It barely affected humans and seemed to only affect animals, turning them into monstrous versions with regeneration abilities. The virus spread across the world, infecting almost all land animals and birds. The monsters wiped out almost the entire human race. However it was discovered that the virus had a affect on a small percent of the population, making them stronger than a regular human and also giving them inhuman powers that seem to affect the monsters much more than regular weapons, stopping their regeneration. The remaining military took these people and trained them to be the front line defense against the monsters.

About fifty years after the virus was spread the military in the US has complete control over the government and forces anyone who displays a power to be a soldier, even kidnapping young children to train them. Most people don’t fight against them as they are the main defense against the monsters. Most cities that remain are coastal cities since the virus wasn’t able to contaminate the water and fishing is one the most important industries remaining.

Most technology remains though all effort goes toward finding a way to eliminate the monsters for good. Weaponry depends on who is using it. Regular soldiers use guns and stick to keeping the civilians under control while the front line soldiers often use weapons like swords and spears as they can handle a power better than a gun. Travel usually happens on water as it is the safest as ariel monsters don’t fly over water often. However communication across countries is limited as they are too focused on their own problems to worry about others.

Portal Location: A portal was found in the woods near Baltimore, Maryland that Sara and her squad stumbled upon.

Personality: Sara first and foremost is a solider. She is stoic and seems not to be moved by anything. Due to the training she received almost her entire life she believes that orders are absolute and will follow them. She is ruthless in battle, showing no mercy or compassion. All in all she seems to be more like a robot.

However when she is alone in her squad she shows a different side to herself. Due to her training, whenever she is out on the field she shuts her emotions inside of her, not being affected by anything but once she’s back on base and with the rest of her squad she lets her real personality out. She is rather shy and quiet; mainly sticking back to watch the antics of her comrades and only joining in when she is forced to. She is incredibly loyal to those she trusts, which is not easy to gain, and tends to struggle when her orders go against her own loyalty to her comrades.

Strangely Sara is easily flustered by flirting or any kind of attempt at romance. This is the only way to get her to show any kind of emotion when she is in solider mode. It doesn’t need to be directed at her to get her flustered.

Reason for Joining: She volunteered among her squad to join.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: The portal was found during a mission, after the death of Drake and after it was reported. Sara volunteered to join Confuto Ordinatio to gather information on it.

Notes: Warning: Avoid flirting or mentioning any kind of romantic situation around her.

Vyse - Skies of Arcadia (reserved) .pt1

[identity profile] selphie.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Roz
Character Name: Vyse
Canon: Skies of Arcadia

Background: Not much is explained aout Vyse's past before the game. There is a brief mention of him having to get over airsickness so that he could join his father's crew on The Albatross. When he was still young he protected Aika from an attack from Piastol on her burning ship which resulted in him receiving the crescent-shaped scar under his left eye.

Wiki Storyline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skies_of_Arcadia#Storyline) has the rest.

Setting Information: The world of Arcadia is made up of different continents, all of which are islands, big and small, that float in the sky. The only way to travel is by airship (which can vary from this (http://www.rpgfan.com/pics/eternal-arcadia/wall-06.jpg) to this (http://aresarcadia.doublemole.com/shipsgiantmonsters/images/delphinus.jpg)) and falling off an island or ship would result in death. More information can be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skies_of_Arcadia#Overworld), a general image of what it looks like is here (http://www.armchairempire.com/images/Reviews/Dreamcast/skies_of_arcadia/skies_of_arcadia-b.jpg) and a Map can be seen here (http://soaworld.silvite.com/images/Worldmapwomarkers.jpg).

Vyse - Skies of Arcadia (reserved) .pt2

[identity profile] selphie.livejournal.com 2010-03-28 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Vyse is best described as a dreamer and an optimist. He has always wanted to explore the vast world before him and dreamed of going off on an adventure. He often spoke of seeing what's beyond the sunset to Aika. He loves going to new places and facing any challenge which comes his way. He has always dreamed of having an adventure and becoming the Captain of his own ship, which he finally manages to do by the end of the game. He has a huge amount of confidence and is a very supporting and cheerful character, never one to bring the mood down.

Sometimes Vyse can be too over confident and impulsive, when angered he can rush into situations all too easily. But he's not a complete idiot. He managed to stop the Valuan army, the Gigas AND prevented Ramirez from sending down The Rains of Destruction on Arcadia, even earning the title of "Vyse the Legend" through it all. He would never boast about his achievements though, he's not one to look down on others while making himself feel good and he would most likely say that he couldn't have done it alone, which frankly, is quite true! His goodnatured personality enabled him to recruit people from all over Arcadia to aid him in stopping Valua. Vyse makes a very good leader, and is not one to go off alone or leave others behind.

Vyse is a very driven character; wanting to do the best he can and to be a good rolemodel for those around him. Because of this he sometimes puts on a happy face when he himself isn't feeling as such. This isn't to say that Vyse is often depressed and putting on an act, but he's not one to share sorrow or carry on about his woes. He will try and stay positive even in the worst kinds of situations.

Vyse can also be quite witty and cunning, but not ALL the time. He's known to make rather corny speeches to boost moral and may even say something without thinking, sometimes putting his foot in his mouth. He's also not good with people, male or female, flirting with him, usually being completely oblivious or blushing heavily and acting goofy.

When it comes to fighting, Vyse will not hesitate if need be, he certainly has the skill and confidence to fight. However he'd mostly prefer to settle things amicably if at all possible, and will try his hardest to do so.

All in all, Vyse is not the typical brooding hero, he's a hero who believes in himself and others, and that he can do anything if he puts his mind to it.

Reason for Joining: It wouldn't be like Vyse to say no after hearing about what is happening, and that he'd been chosen to help. Vyse said yes very willingly, he's not one to just let something bad happen without a care, and he certainly wouldn't want his home world collapsing after everything he and his crew went through. That, and knowing there are other worlds out there he's never seen has piqued his interest somewhat, and he knows he can return to his world from time to time to say hello and make sure everyone's all right.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: Post Game.

Notes: The only real warnings are, as stated above, once you fall off a ship/island in Arcadia you're pretty much a goner. Oh and there are Black Pirates flying around who might try and cause trouble and attack your ship.

Sample Post: I have some sample posts here:

These were during the first part of the game technically. He was slightly AU (in that he was made to fit the world of The Sky Tides) but his personality was kept pretty much the same. A new character is approaching!

[identity profile] darkmastern.livejournal.com 2010-03-30 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Warren/DarkmasterN/KingNitros
Character Name: Raspberyl
Canon: Disgaea 3

Background: Raspberyl is the number one delinquent at the Evil academy, and is the rival to Mao, the number one honor student. She considers their rivalry to be a great passionate one, while Mao however, seems as if he could really care less most of the time. She also sees Almaz as a great hero, even if he is considered a fake one most of the time, and loves hearing about his "human" emotions.

She has even gone so far as to gain respect among a few demons, namely Asuka Cranekick, and Kyoko Needleworker. These two are disliked almost as much as Beryl, and are usually considered her lackies, or chronies. Together, they all work to better their community, much to the dismay of her peers. Raspberyl has been friends with Mao since he was young, but didn't really do too much before they were a bit older. Mao had vowed to defeat his father for destroying his video game system, so he needed the power of a hero. However, as a demon he thought it impossible to do so. However Geoffery told him that he could gain the powers of a Hero by defeating one and taking it's title. Mao loved the idea and instantly tracked down the first hero he could find.

2

[identity profile] darkmastern.livejournal.com 2010-03-30 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It was then that he attacked Almaz, but was almost thwarted by Raspberyl, who was trying to protect the hero as they are the ultimate symbol of being do-gooders. However, Raspberyl was defeated, and she ran off to her class, saying that she would return to claim the hero herself. After wards, Mao took the hero title, and tried to defeat his dad. It failed horribly however, and made him extremely angry. So he decided to enter his heart and get to the bottom of things. But of course, Raspberyl once again arrived to keep him from doing something wrong. They battled as rivals once more, and once again Beryl was defeated.

Mao tried to get into his heart, but it was locked tightly. of course he was extremely angry about this, and tried to force his heart open, however, it failed and he had to resort to another method. This method was to eat a dragon egg. If he did so, it would open his heart. Raspberyl decided that as his rival, she would aid him in his quest, as it would make him stronger, and make her a better person for doing so. So they went searching for the egg, and confronted some martial artists along the way. Soon after they aquired the egg, they went to locate the Home Economics class, in which Beryl wanted to take since no one she knew ever had. There they met and trained with Mr. Champloo, who cooked the egg for Mao.

Mao ate the egg and felt as if his heart were opening, and once again he went to the heart bank to see if it were true, but unfortunately it was not, He attacked the protectors of his heart, and tried to force it open. After wards, Mao heard from Asuka and Kyoko that Raspberyl had been kidnapped by the PTA, the Perfectly Trained Assassins. Mao acted like he wasn't worried at all, but of course he was, and went to save her. When they got there, Beryl was being brain washed by the PTA. Mao and his friends defeated the fake Beryls around, and freed Raspberyl from her confines. She thanked them thoughtfully, and aided them in their battle with the PTA.

Afterwards, Mao learned of Almaz's crush, and decided to seek out the "Crush" power. mao tried to attend class and was attacked, he defeated them, and was joined by Saphire, the girl who Almaz has a crush on, and of course he tried to protect her. They arrived at the Seduction class, and there they met with Beryl once again, who was surprised to see her friends in a class. Saphire called her adorable, and cutesy, and hugged Beryl (Almost to death).

Beryl soon joined Mao to get to the bottom of the brain washing that was going on. They went to the audio visual room of the school, and confronted Gold Knuckle along with Champloo. They soon found out that a huge war was going on in the senior class rooms, and that it was being caused by the legendary Diez Gentlemen. They met Master Big Star, who aided them in their battle with an eccentric woman named Salvatore the great.

After their victory, Geoffery was shot, and seemingly killed, however he turned out to be fine later on. Beryl and her friends headed back to Mao's heart, which was now being guarded by super hero Aurum. Also, it was here that Raspberyl, Kyoko, and Asuka became the first graduates of their class. They defeated Aurum quickly, and moved on to do battle with Salvatore once again. They defeated her, and found out that Geoffery was the leader of their group, and was in fact the super hero Aurum, who killed Mao's dad long ago.

She, Askua, and Raspberyl worked together to stop Mao from threatening Raspberyls Delinquency, but they also helped Mao, because Raspberyl didn't want Mao to lose his status as her rival. Later, they joined the group after they graduated. Soon, they defeated the evil Super hero Aurom.

During all this, they also pushed Almaz to teach them they ways of a hero, and also were very interested on this so called "love" Almaz showed for Sapphire. Later Kyoko and Auska helped Raspberyl become a teacher, and followed her on her quests to teach and gain things like an angels love.

Setting Information: Well, Raspberyl is from my world... so use hers :)

She enjoys making cloths and scarfs for people in need. She really loves Raspberyl and secretly keeps a picture of her in her desk draw. Kyoko was a very good student, and she still takes many notes and researches lots of things after graduating.

Her family is very disappointed in her for being a delinquent, but it doesn't seem to bother her. she also doesn't mind what other people say about her. Player Name: Floogy
Character Name: Detective Dick Gumshoe
Canon: Ace Attorney

Background:
http://aceattorney.wikia.com/wiki/Dick_Gumshoe
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ace_Attorney_characters#Dick_Gumshoe

Setting Information: Covered by Mr. Edgeworth, pal.

Portal Location: The men’s restroom at the police station.

Personality:
Gumshoe isn’t the brightest bulb on the police force, and it really shows. He’s easy to confuse, and has a real problem with properly gathering evidence in his line of work. This becomes rather apparent when the lawyers, rather than himself or anybody else on the police force, are the ones that gather all the evidence to properly bring a case to a close. In other words, he’s not very observant.

Still, his heart is in the right place. He really does try his best, honest! He’ll put all his effort into the case, but he’s really only at his best when he’s not acting on his own. However, there are times where he’ll actually have a hunch that leads to something useful. With people he’s familiar with, Gumshoe is a rather nice guy. Loyal and trusting, he really is a good man despite his faults.

Despite being with the law enforcement, Gumshoe is actually something of a sissy. He’s never fired a gun before in his life, and probably never will. Though he won’t like it, he’ll take most forms of abuse with an “eek!” or a similar shouting. He might protest, but he won’t actually do anything to stop it (especially with Franziska). In a more serious situation, though, and when push comes to shove, Gumshoe will fight.

He's just about absolutely loyal to Edgeworth above all other people. Even when the prosecutor was the primary suspect of a murder, Gumshoe did whatever he could to help clear his name; even going to the defense attorney that had been against Miles for the last few cases.

Reason for Joining: Edgeworth is there, so he’s gotta help!

Position Desired: Agent. He’s borderline Enforcer material but- really, he’s just terrible.

Point in Canon: After Ace Attorney Investigations.

Yomiko Readman 1

[identity profile] nikkie-chan.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: nikkie_chan
Character Name: Yomiko Readman
Canon: Read or Die TV

Background: Yomiko is a paper master, a human whose connection to paper and written word is so strong that it allows her to bend and mold paper to her will, almost to the point of changing its structure. In her hands, paper can change into a bladed weapon, projectiles, shields capable of stopping bullets and more. Her powers also have creative applications, such as creating larger-than-life, functioning paper airplanes that she can fly around in, and stairs to bridge gaps she cannot cross. Furthermore, her ability to manipulate paper is only hindered when the paper in use becomes completely submerged and soaked in paper or is burnt away to nothingness.

Half Japanese, half British, Yomiko was enlisted by the Library of England Special Operations Division when she was in her teens. (In the R.O.D. universe, England has remained a superpower and the Library of England serves not only as a library, but as a political organization.) Under the supervision of Donnie Nakajima, the 18th generation paper master, she trained to become a library special operations agent, specializing in retrieving and verifying stolen texts and ancient manuscripts, all under the supervision of Mr. Gentlemen, a man who was secretly an ancient being who had been manipulating the direction of humanity's evolution since near the beginning of time. She was praised by her superiors for having the promise to surpass all paper masters before her and quickly became the 19th paper master following Donnie's suspicious and manipulated retirement. Unbeknownst to her that her beloved mentor's withdrawl from the Library Special Operations was machinated by Mr. Gentlemen and his second-hand man, Joker, Yomiko took up the mantle of "The Paper" and began working cases for the library, substitute teaching literature while not on assignment. She moved from England to Japan, in the prefecture of Jinbocho, known for its wealth of book shops, buying a building that quickly became little more than a "book box," storing Yomiko's personal library... that she just happened to sleep in.

Over the course of her tenure with the Library of England, Yomiko developed several meaningful friendships with fellow agents and related bibliophiles. Most notable amongst these relationships were Nenene Sumiwagara, a teenage author with a penchant for getting herself into trouble, Drake Anderson, a mercenary formerly employed by the American special forces who worked for the Library, and Nancy Makuhari, a fellow special agent with the ability to phase, or "dive," through solid matter, earning herself the codename "Miss Deep." It was because of Yomiko's relationship with Nancy that she ultimately left the service of the Library of England.

Yomiko Readman 2

[identity profile] nikkie-chan.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Nancy fought alongside Yomiko against the agents of the I-Jin organization, a society comprised of people who had been cloned from the DNA of the best and brightest members of humanity. After their cloning and maturation, the I-Jin compared their notes of what they had hoped for in the world in their former lives and found the direction and behavior of humanity at present in general… unpleasing. Thus the I-Jin's goal was to wipe out humanity and begin the race anew, spearheaded by none other than themselves and other genetic samples they had accumulated. While the two had created a bond of close friendship, Nancy neglected to inform Yomiko that she herself was an agent of the I-Jin, cloned from the famous spy, the Mata Hari. Nancy was following orders from the head of the I-Jin, her lover, Ikkyu Soujun to accompany Yomiko to recover a set of books that would allow them to fashion a song that once heard would drive the listener to suicide. However, Ikkyu found Nancy too free-willed for his purposes (or her friendship with Yomiko made him question her completed subservience to him) and so he chose to “neutralize” Nancy, favoring the second clone that had secretly been created unbeknownst to all but the I-Jin, who worshipped the ground he walked on. During the final conflict, Nancy perished alongside Ikkyu, however the second clone survived, albeit suffering amnesia due to oxygen deprivation after nearly drowning. The surviving clone was relocated to a nursing facility where she would be cared for, and should she ever recover her memories of the event, stand trial for her crimes against humanity. Before passing, Nancy requested that Yomiko care for the second clone, referring to her as her "younger sister." And so Yomiko created a new friendship with the younger Nancy, acting both as friends and sometimes mother to her.

During younger-Nancy's stay with the facility, she gave birth to a child fathered by Ikkyu, a boy dubbed "Junior." The child was found to possess the diving ability that both Nancy and her clone had possessed, and so Mr. Joker took the child into his custody, citing Nancy an unfit mother due to the childlike mentality she'd adopted after her near drowning. In time, Yomiko spoke in younger-Nancy's defense, demanding to know why the child would not be returned to his mother. Joker refused and openly mocked Yomiko for her complete ignorance regarding the situation the Library now found itself in. Namely, Mr. Gentleman was finally dying and would be leaving the world without his wisdom and guiding hand. Joker had stepped forward as leader of the Library as Mr. Gentleman's status degenerated, stating his ambition to create a world free of poverty and lack of education, where all would flourish and to accomplish that, he needed Nancy's child. Unable to agree with Joker's extremist measures, Yomiko protested, and Joker informed her that if she would not assist their directives as an agent, then she would no longer be necessary to them, and to prove the lengths to which he was willing to go to make his dream a reality, informed Yomiko of a grim truth: Donnie Nakajima, Yomiko's former mentor and lover, had been incapacitated by his former employers and used as a human guinea pig to create technology to sustain Mr. Gentleman as he rapidly approached his demise. When she learned of Donnie's fate, Yomiko was unable to control her emotions and the chaos in her heart and created a reaction in the books in the library, causing it to literally tear itself apart. Yomiko fled, but not before seizing one of the key items necessary to Joker's plans, the Book of the All-Seeing Eye, in which Mr. Gentlemen had stored a portion of his knowledge, taking it and Nancy and going to ground, not to be seen by anyone for four years.

Divine | 1

[identity profile] psychosyndicate.livejournal.com 2010-04-01 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Starry
Character Name: Divine
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

Background: Right here (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Sayer). Side note, I am pulling him from the Japanese version and the wiki uses American dub names.

Setting Information: Here (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_5D%27s) and here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_5D%27s)

Portal Location: A building next to the Arcadia Movement

Personality: Divine is a snake, a smug snake fulled by his desires for power and control over people. He started his own organization, the Arcadia Movement, under the guise that it would be a haven for psychic duelists to control and unleash their abilities, but it was also hold plans for rebelling against the city for the harsh discrimination against psychic duelists. He's a careful planner, assuring that not one thing is out of the loop... and if it is, he won't resist to handle it personally to make sure everything goes according to plan. Try to infer with his plans and you will face harsh consequences. For instance, he murders an innocent nosy reporter only because she found out some juicy information about him and leaves two people alone to drown because one of them took away a prized possession of his and attempted to stop his plans. And for an important political figure who cannot be killed without a lot of trouble and uproar, he blackmails him to make sure his organization can still stand.

He's ruthless when obtaining something he desires, mainly testing and getting possible recruits to join his army. He has been shown to kidnap several children and forcing them through rough experiments such as electric torture or psychic dueling. These experiments often resulted in injuries, coma or even death for many of the children.

And he doesn't give a damn about it.

For some who do survive and prove to be one of his key warriors, he brainwashes them into believing that he will take care of them and that the Arcadia Movement is the only suitable place for them to reside in since society has rejected them because of their powers. Then he molds his warriors to devoid themselves of emotion and empathy, so they wouldn't care or have guilt for committing crimes and to become utterly loyal to Divine.

On top of that, he's got nearly godly charisma, able to smooth talk his way out of tight spots and assist him in convincing potential members to join and eventually brainwash them. But along with charisma, he is cocky, so easy to boast his achievements, which is his greatest flaw.

Reason for Joining: Divine simply wants access to other worlds to seek out more people with psychic abilities to build up his army.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: After episode 37, right after killing Carly Nagisa

Notes: Warning: Use caution around the Satellite and Daimon Area. Warning: Avoid anyone with black eyes and red facial markenings. Warning: Avoid Giant blue gingerman, hummingbirds, kermit frogs and other Earthbound Gods. Warning: Use caution around yellow marked criminals.

Character Name: Mega Man X, or rather, X
Canon: Mega Man X, duh.

Background: http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_X_%28character%29

Setting Information: The year is 21XX in this Earth, robots numbers in the millions as people grew accustomed to it ever since their breakthrough in 20XX, in this time period, robotics has grown even more advanced as Reploids, the term for android robots in the world, populates the world. However, as peaceful the world may be, there are several problems that continues to exist, humans are not that amused at the idea of Reploids replacing human in their line of jobs, and there are even some of them that hates them outright, making this a form of racism against the robots, however, the more grave problems are that the Reploids are quite imperfect on their design, leaving them susceptible to be infected by a virus aptly named Sigma Virus, causing them to go rogue and break the Robotic Laws, generally causing chaos. There is, however, the Maverick Hunters, an organization created for the purpose of dispatching these rogue Reploids, known as Mavericks. Upon entry to this world, you may find yourself unchanged if you don't have powers. Most humanoids other than humans will find themselves changed in attire, and their body will instead be mechanical on the inside, outside they still retain their normal appearance. And humans with powers will be changed into reploids, with their abilities changed into a weapon fitting to them.

X, 2/?

Portal Location: X’s office, rather, the window next to it, so if you’re not watching, you may fall to your death since, 20Th floor yo.

Personality: Well, X has always been and always will be on the side of justice whether you like it or not, the first game showed him as being a naive person that believed on his ideals that Reploids and humans can co-exist peacefully and that there will be a time where that does happen. However, the term 'reploids' for X extended to the Mavericks, whom he thought can be persuaded by mere words. Sadly, they aren't, but that didn't stop him from trying. By a few games, or Maverick Uprisings, as it was known, X has matured to the point that while he is still supporting the peace of the nation, he knows that he must fight if the need arises, and will continue to do so until true peace is achieved.

Outside his job, though, X can be often be found doing his paperwork diligently, as besides his sense of justice, he has this quirk of being a disciplined man that takes his works seriously and will often be found taking all-nighters in case the job isn't done by then. But that does not mean he is clueless on how to relax. Well, his idea of relaxing often involves reading books, non-fiction or fiction alike, meaning that his room often contains several shelves of books just for that purpose alone. Of course, this means that books are often a very viable gift for him. Then again... He's gentle by nature, so its unsurprising.

Speaking of gentleness. X is straight-forward, as he tends to be, and will not hesitate to admonish you if you did something reckless on the job, as he cares for the safety of his acquaintances. Also, despite his popularity amongst the Maverick Hunters, he never acts arrogant about it. If you ended up as a member of his battalion, chances are that he'll consider you as an important part of the team, and will even try to sacrifice his life in order to save your ass. Though, there is one thing. Since X is a firm believer of discipline most of the times, just be prepared to get some admonishment when you did something quite wrong.

Player Name: Lory Ho
Character Name: Cammy Meele (Taking Calisto Yew's case into consideration, it can be safe to assume that Cammy Meele is not even her real name)
Canon: Ace Attorney Investigations

Background: Here ya go (http://aceattorney.wikia.com/wiki/Cammy_Meele) or here (http://aceattorney.wikia.com/wiki/Turnabout_Airlines).

Setting Information: I'm pretty sure Edgeworth mun already covered it.

Portal Location: In a holding cell over at the detention center.

Personality:

At first glance, Cammy may appear as a lazy woman who would like nothing more than a good nap, even nodding off into sleep while standing in a middle of a conversation. She also seems out of it and carefree to the point she doesn't really do anything productive, but if she focuses on something, she can actually prove to be quite capable in doing the task. Unfortunately though, that doesn't happen quite often. And even in a serious or dire situation, she will continue being her sleepy and carefree self.

Cammy is also flirtatious with her boyfriend, a pilot over at iFly Airlines, and can be very possessive and jealous if she sees another girl talking to him and will go all "How could you?! You have me!". Or if a girl's talking to her about the captain and it SEEMS to her that the girl just MIGHT be interested in the captain, that too will make her go into "possessive girlfriend here, so back away from mah man, ya bitch" mode. So it's best that one should steer clear of the topic of the captain in general when talking to Cammy.

Despite what's been written above, that's actually all an act. Cammy is actually someone who can be a little snappy and doesn't care about what other people think. In fact, she doesn't really have any feelings for her boyfriend at all. He was just someone she found of use when she was busy forging papers for the smuggling ring and such. She's also pretty attentive and DOES pay attention for what someone has to say, but for the sake of the sleeping act, she chooses to pretend to not hear most of it. The only times she ever drops the act, even a short time, is when there's been a lot of pressure piled onto her, someone has seen past the act and said person has messed with her, when she's freaking out, like, A LOT, or she absolutely hates a person enough and has had enough with trying to put on the act in front of them.

Reason for Joining: Let's see... Cammy's been arrested upon the charges of murder and her involvement with the smuggling ring has been exposed back at her world, so she doesn't want to go back to her world because of those conditions.
Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: Sometime after her arrest in AAI-2.

Notes: Can I please request that if there are any mandatory jobs for Cammy, that they don't involve her going back to her home world? I don't want to risk her getting caught and arrested again there. Anywhere else is fine though. Oh, and I don't really want her in any jobs that would require fighting since she's not much of a fighter at all, but if you want someone who can do fanservice even against their will, then she's your girl.

NiGHTS 1/?

[identity profile] dualizemecapt.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Nala
Character Name: NiGHTS
Canon: NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Background:

http://nid.wikia.com/wiki/NiGHTS

http://nid.wikia.com/wiki/Nights:_Journey_of_Dreams

Setting Information:

While the NiGHTS universe has its own Earth, most of the game takes place in a world known as the Night Dimension. The Night Dimension is powered by the ideya of the people who visit there, which can be separated into Courage (The red and strongest), Purity (White), Intelligence (Blue), Growth (Green), and Hope (Yellow). Most people lose most of their ideya when they enter the the dream world, but many keep one or two, and a select handful of people keep all five. The idea they manage to keep reflects their strength in the Night Dimension, and the few lucky people who manage to keep enough of them may use this energy to fly.

The energy from the ideya is also used to create the many dream worlds known as Nighttopias. These worlds take their form from the visitor's heart, and could be anything from an amusement park in the desert to a forest they remember from their childhood. In addition, the world is inhabited by Nightopians, a race of angelic babylike creatures that can be seen doing anything from dancing to fishing. Though they are said to have a king, they're a mostly carefree and peaceful race.

However, along with Nightopia and the Nightopians, there is Nightmare and the Nightmarens. Nightmare exists in a dark, black sea below the Dream Gate, and is a dark and horrific place that is home to three types of Nightmarens. The third level Nightmarens are the grunts of the army, and are easily defeated. The second level Nightmarens are in turn larger and harder to defeat, and usually posses stolen ideya. There are only two first level Nightmaren in existence, named NiGHTS and Reala. They are the two leaders of Nightmare's army, and serve directly under Wizeman himself.

Lastly, there's the Dream Gate, which serves as a central hub to the worlds of Nighttopia. This is where the elder named Owl lives, and where visitors can access the worlds of Nightopia. Since it is relatively deserted, the Nightmarens don't bother to come here often.

2/?

[identity profile] dualizemecapt.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Portal Location: The door under the stairs in the dream gate.

Personality:

NiGHTS is as childlike in personality as anyone could get. They are curious to an almost dangerous extent, and won't let any sort of fear get in the way of exploring. Where as others would see impending danger, NiGHTS would simply think of challenging situations as yet another game. Of course, they'll always try and help others overcome their fears, even if it means mocking them for it.

However, NiGHTS is neither naive nor foolish. Hundreds of years of experience has taught NiGHTS a lot about an extensive variety of subjects, though their own world and visitors are the two most prevalent subjects. If you're looking for someone world weary with good advise, Owl may be the better choice between the two, but that doesn't mean that NiGHTS can't get a word in edgewise.

Apart from that, NiGHTS is one of the best friends a person could ask for. Though they hate taking orders, they would gladly help anyone who needed them, especially if it was someone close to them. In addition, NiGHTS is far from being shy or judgmental, and would gladly befriend anyone, no matter what there supposed reputation or demeanor is.

While NiGHTS is a great friend, they aren't that great of a subordinate. NiGHTS loves doing what they want, when they want to. This little fact has a lot to do with their hatred of their former master, Wizeman, but it also means that NiGHTS may not really complete missions that they don't deem to be fun or important.

Reason for Joining: As Wizeman had said, he was impossible to kill as long as there was still darkness and despair in people's hearts. Of course, while going from dream to dream to help retrieve the ideya was somewhat effective, NiGHTS couldn't help but want to see other worlds, and maybe help them out while they were at it. So, they agreed to that strange visitor's proposition, and joined Confuto's ranks.

Position Desired: Despite NiGHTS's experience with both commanding and coaching others, I'm going to say an agent, simply because NiGHTS and responsibility do not mix well these days.

Point in Canon: After the bad ending.

Player Name: Geoff
Character Name: Raven
Canon: Tales of Vesperia (http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Tales_of_Vesperia)

Background: Raven's background! (http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Raven)

Setting Information: The most recent of many Vesperia characters, so.

Portal Location: The entrance to the hot springs at Yumanju.

Personality: Raven is laidback, to describe him in a single word. He gives the impression of a man who partied hard throughout his youth and kept the attitude as he wisened up. Because of this, he'll do things for one of two reasons - he wants to, or there's nothing better to do. If he doesn't want to do it, expect a metric ton of complaints and whining for as long as he can. Needless to say, he prefers lazing about and doing as little as humanly possible. Yet even while he complains about his old bones, he jumps high in the air and backflips repeatedly.

But only when he wants to.

He's a goofball of the highest magnitude and tends to overplay his reactions for humor. Due to this, it's difficult to read him. He wears several masks for any necessary occasion, and thus it's difficult to really pierce through his false personas to get to his mind's workings. He could be serious, or he could be screwing around, or worse yet, he could be doing both.

For a while, Raven had nothing to live for; he loved Casey, but with her gone, he considered himself a dead man. Any other relationship unnerves him if it progresses beyond casual flirting. The idea of friendship is slowly dawning on him again as he progresses out of this rut, no longer believing that "conviction and loyalty mean nothing to a dead man."

That's Raven. Schwann, on the other hand, is a gentle, understanding person. Chivalrous, quiet, observant, serious and commanding, Schwann Oltorain is the model knight that others aspire to be. It's such a marked disconnect that it's nearly impossible to believe they are the same person. According to Raven, they aren't. He refers to Schwann in the third person and consistently denies being him. However, because Raven is the constructed personality, it's not perfect. When he really does get serious about something, he loses his accent and acts more like Schwann, especially if he thinks no one else can hear him.

Reason for Joining: Joining the Agents is all the rage! Look how many people he knows that have already done it! The serious side of him sees an opportunity to start fresh without the problems that plague him from helping his own world; the lazy side sees it as more grunt work to avoid by passing it onto agents.

Position Desired: Enforcer. Raven is a high ranking official in both the Imperial Knights as a First Captain (second only to the Commandant) and the trusted right-hand man of Don Whitehorse of the Union. Raven is very familiar with responsibility and, more importantly, very familiar with delegating that responsibility to lower ranks.

Point in Canon: Post-game.

Player Name: Sheepy
Character Name: Mikuru Asahina (big)
Canon: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Background: Wiki (http://haruhi.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Mikuru_Asahina)

Setting Information: I believe that this is detailed quite well in Kyon's app as well as the previous one I submitted

Portal Location: The same one that Kyon entered through, just a few moments before.

Personality: Mikuru has matured quite a bit from her younger counterpart, and in a way seems to be almost an entirely different woman. Where younger Mikuru was shy, unsure of how to deal with people (especially Haruhi) and very soft-spoken, older Mikuru is confident. With a strong smile and a sense that she knows exactly what is going on at all times, it isn't a far-off assumption that she, in fact, does. Occasionally popping into Kyon's time in order to give him a little nudge in the right direction, she is prone to a bit of nostalgia, making comments like "so this is what I looked like at this age," finding it fun to see how things looked to her younger self from an outsider's perspective.

Older Mikuru is extremely intelligent, despite being rather playful and, at times, just a little flirtatious, although this is mostly poked at Kyon. Going so far as to show him the star-shaped mole on her breast, it can be assumed that she does this because, in a way, she enjoys to see the teen squirm just a little bit--after all, the two of them had a bit of history, although their feelings could never be confessed to one another due to Mikuru's situation. But she does enjoy a good laugh and is generally good-spirited about a lot of things.

This is not to say that older Mikuru does not have a serious side. She is a higher-up in her organization (perhaps the one that gives younger Mikuru her orders in the first place), and in dire situations can be somewhat grave. Dealing with an entity that can rewrite or completely end the world as everyone then knows it--especially one coming up on 16--she knows the consequences of what may happen, and that they all are walking on a rather thin line between normalcy and oblivion. She can be extremely professional, doling out mission objectives to Kyon as well as others below her and setting aside her rather jovial nature to get things done.

Reason for Joining: Mikuru and the organization that she currently works for work rather closely together, so she acts as a go-between.

Position Desired: Councilor

Point in Canon: This is a little tricky. We'll say in the actual canon terms after her appearance in Scheme, but it's hard to say where in her actual timeline that is.

Notes: While Mikuru will be a councilor, I would also like to see her assign certain jobs in the future, since that's a bit of what she does with Kyon. She is obviously a higher up, but she still does a bit of job placement for our agents and enforcers. This will be determined on whether they sign up, of course.

Cheryl Bugg 1/4

[identity profile] thetypingbug.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Eek [livejournal.com profile] badsnackfood
Character Name: Cheryl Bugg
Canon: Hellboy movieverse (OC)

Background: Cheryl is Director Manning's personal assistant in a version of the Hellboy'verse. He had chosen her because of her efficient, orderly way of thinking and her incredible work ethic. Neither one of those should come as any surprise, however, seeing as she's a three-foot-tall bipedal winged ant.

Cheryl was found ten years ago by cavers in the Carlsbad Caverns of New Mexico, unconscious and drifting in a subterranean pool. She was destined on someone's dissecting table down in Area 51, if the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense hadn't chanced to get there first.

She was moved to New Jersey, still terrified and unable to understand anyone. In fact, the name "Cheryl" she'd simply pointed at in a random article on the desk when someone asked her name. But she is a very fast learner, and picked up the basics of english and reading in the next few months. Soon she was running errands, doing grunt work, and all the basic things that interns would do. Since she had the kind of solid, no-nonsense personality that made people depend on her, the grunt work quickly turned into administrative tasks. She didn't actually start earning a paycheck as an employee until she was appointed by Manning to do all those things that he just didn't have the time (or just couldn't be arsed) to do anymore.

As to how she wound up in the Carlsbad Caverns in the first place? That was the outlet point for an underground river that ran past a couple of giant ant colonies that live under mountains in northern Mexico and Baja California. She had gotten herself knocked cold after running from her nuptial flight. You would run too, if you saw what those drones were like... She doesn't like to talk about it, as she is topside now and it's in the past. She doesn't ever have to worry about being beset by drones or blowing up into a greasy, bloated egg-factory ever again.

Physically, Cheryl is very strong, able to lift about 1600 pounds if she has to. Also the wings are functional, and she can buzz from one wall to another in a typical room with ease, as long as she's not carrying anything heavy. She can cling to walls and ceilings, though negotiating sharp corners can be tricky. She IS an unmated queen, and this means pheromones! This is hardly noticeable to humans with their stunted sense of smell, and she showers often, but still she has this tendency to literally smell like sex and candy to those sensitive to it. Those that do notice, may simply notice or actually be affected, depending on the pup and their mun's decision.

Cheryl Bugg 2/4

[identity profile] thetypingbug.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Setting Information: Her world is heavy with the paranormal. The thing is, most people never even see it. Most are self-limiting phenomena, things that only children can see, or moving furniture in a haunted house. But those are harmless. The real dangers, everyone can see, and scream at, and run from, and be killed by. Mad mages, burgeoning outer gods, elfen princes hell-bet on taking over the world, those all happen, and there's little that humanity can do about it.

Enter the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. At first an obscure cadre of WWII veterans and British occult enthusiasts, the BPRD now has several hundred members of both human and non-human origin, and chapters in Egypt, Romania, Japan, Hong Kong, Haiti, Canada and the US. The main installation lies in New Jersey, outside of metropolitan New York. BPRD Jersey looks like a normal waste-processing plant at the surface, but beneath lie a mass of tunnels, labs, Agent housing, armories, and research libraries. The waste-treatment-plant facade is now pointless but still kept: Agent Hellboy unilaterally decided to out the Bureau and the existence of all manner of crypids and phenomena by extension. For Director Thomas Manning, the past year has mostly been spent dealing with the public's reaction. When they're not vilifying them, they want interviews. When they don't want interviews, they want tours. When they're not after either, they want either sponsorship or a photo deal. It's no wonder he'd had to appoint an assistant to keep up with the mess.

The BPRD deals in cases in which consideration for paranormal entities or endeavors should be taken. In other words, they send the freaks to catch the freaks. Your average Agent isn't human (or at least, totally human) and has a toolbox full of spells and abilities to help them at their jobs.

Cheryl, unfortunately... is no Agent. Not of the BPRD, anyway. But, should she need info on an obscure summoning rite or the components for a binding spell, at least she'll know where ot look first.

Portal Location: BPRD, level 5 underground, behind an elevator shaft next to the R&D labs. She was the first one able to fit behind the cement to see what the noise was, and for at least a few weeks until a portal landing is constructed, she may be the only one able to get in or out of her homeworld.

Personality: Cheryl is a highly-organized little bug. Her dorm room will be immaculately tidy, and god help her if she winds up with a slob for a roommate. She's able to multitask very well (having four hands tends to help) and tends to think in terms of cooperation, rather than competition.

She's not an aggressive bug, even as strong as she is, and hates the idea of using violence for any reason. This passiveness translates often into an odd sort of girlishness (that and her penchant for flowers and candy) that some consider disgustingly cute... for a giant insect.

Reason for Joining: Manning had the bright idea of appointing her as a working liaison officer between CO and the Bureau. This... basically means that she's transferring indefinitely to CO, with option to return to her homeworld in off-hours if she likes.

Character Name: Joshua Preston
Canon: Bliss Stage

Background: The app for Anna Lin covers some of it, but Joshua has an additional wrinkle. See, he survived for 7 long years mostly on his own. Wandering, camping out, using what survival skills he had from camping trips and the like, knowing, with certianty that his mother and father were as good as dead. Then he joined the resistance, and met their adult leader.

Commander Jim Preston. His father.

Ever since he and his father have come to an... understanding. He is 'Lieutenant Preston' or 'Joshua' to his father, and his father is to be called 'Commander' or 'Sir' - during missions. Sometimes, Jim has time to be Joshua's father in action, but these times are rare and short. Still, Joshua understands that he needs a commander more than a father right now.

That doesn't mean he has to like it.

Portal Location: A dreamworld/realworld rift in the Mission district of San Francisco, probably caused by the destruction of an ANIMa device.

Personality: Joshua he transfers his seething hatred of his father - "My father is dead. The Commander had to take over for him." - over to the enemy, and his need for love and affection to... well, it used to be his Anchor (and Anna's!) and/or his strange notaboyfriend relationship with a fellow pilot and girl only slightly younger than him, Sara, but honestly? He's a 14 year old who doesn't quite understand how to control his hormones yet, although he tries.

He is VERY aware of the effect that ANIMa combat damage has on his relationships, and is very, very irritated that no one is trying to figure out what the aliens are, what they want, and why; he's not innocent or naive enough to want peace with the enemy, but not knowing their capabilities and powers is just moronic.

He joined because he was sick of standing by and doing nothing while children were dying. Of seeing the Nightmares raze anyone that dared to live with others that they loved. Of watching people say there was no hope. Vengeance is one of his drives, but love is his weapon and his aim, and he wants a world where Archer Lin and any hypothetical children of Sara's shut up you can't know what it's like to love someone that much I want her so bad can not only grow up but thrive.

Reason for Joining: His universe SUCKS. His dad sucks. Sara doesn't suck (stop snickering) or Merry neither (oh shut the fuck up), but honestly, he's getting burned out on the death and bitterness. He still wants to fight back, but he needs to do some humanitarian work and center himself too, or he won't make it - and he knows it.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: The evening of the suicide mission in Final Act.

Georik Zaberisk 1/?

[identity profile] robindaybird.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Shini
Character Name: Count Georik Zaberisk,
Canon: Animamundi: Dark Alchemist

Background: Georik is the oldest child, and only son of the famous physician (and infamous Alchemist outside of Hardland) Count Wolfgang Zaberisk. He grew up as a young aristocrat, purposely kept ignorant of his father’s massive debt, his paternal grandparents’ execution as witches, and his father’s illicit alchemy experiments – instead seeing the man as faultless and wanting to be a doctor just like him.

While he was in his teens, his mother gave birth to his younger sister Lillith, and at seventeen he became the youngest person to have ever won the Annual Fencing tournament, beating out his rival and childhood friend Mikhail.

Sadly, while Georik was attending college, his Mother had vanished only for her body to turn up in Kamezene’s river a week later, and soon after his father’s body was discovered in an ally, mutilated beyond all recognition. He was forced to the role of parent, caring for his infant sister while finishing school work.

Eventually he took the post as an assistant to the royal physician, and then got promoted when he was the only person willing to treat the Princess when she was inflicted with the deadly plague. Soon, he had to resign to move out to the country due to Lillith’s poor health.

Years later, he started to have dreams of a black-haired devil, and while he was out of the village of Geutrink, the villagers turned on the Zaberisk family and executed Lillith as a witch (with the doctor arriving right when they put her head up on display). To his shock, she was still alive. In a rage, he burned down the village and fled to the city, covering up the truth in a layer of lies as he turned to Alchemy to find a way to cure his sister.

Unfortunately for him, he now back to Assistant Royal Physician, and has to obey a duplicitous man who obviously has a grudge against him, and on top of that Mephistopheles is whispering in his ears with tempting promises that will damn his soul if he agrees to it.

Setting Information: The Year is 1801, the Industrialization of the country is in full swing, with smoggy factories, and the royal palace recently installed electrical lights – but in other ways the world is strangely much more advanced, with Medical knowledge comparable to the 1950s of the real world (though different terminology may be used), mechanical robots being tested out for combat usage and a proto-type flying machine in Germant’s manor.

The land is also full of superstition and fear – Alchemy, Witchcraft, and even fortune telling is punishable by death. These elements are very real, Witches can spontaneously set things on fire, curse people, whatever can be attributed to a witch in folklore can be done – and it is said a witch can survive decapitation. The nearby land of Eidellune is lead by the Pope who leads an army of undead soldiers that he raised from the dead himself.

Alchemist is much more like the historical use, though a good alchemist can actually create gold, or potions of immortality. It takes intense studying and occult knowledge to get results.

In Hardland, Christianity, more specifically – Catholicism is the dominant religion (strange considering Hardland is the enemy of the Necromancer Pope), and though most people go their daily lives without meeting them, Demons and Angels exist and take a behind the scenes role in certain events, but generally they’re in a cold war situation, only stepping in when something drastic happens.

Player Name: Random AKA [livejournal.com profile] this_troper
Character Name: Adam Young
Canon: Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Background: Wiki Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Omens)

Setting Information: Aaand some TVTropes while we're at it! (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GoodOmens)

Portal Location: In the quarry where Adam and his friends often play.

Personality: For the most part Adam is a normal boy. He likes to go outside and cause trouble with the rest of Them, or go out against the Johnsonites. His interests are varied and often change in the space of a day or two and when trouble is afoot he's usually the ring leader. Adam won't listen to his father (either of them) and doesn't like to be confined to the garden when he and his gang are caught causing trouble. When he comes up with an idea he tends to go a little overboard and takes the majority of what he reads and hears as the gospel truth... until something more interesting comes along to entertain him and the rest of Them.

Speaking of the Them, Adam's gang look to him for leadership and he feels a responsibility to keep Pepper, Brian, and Wensley entertained and happy--and to make sure Pepper doesn't turn those fists and of hers onto him. They're the driving force between much of his motivation because what is a boy (or Pepper) without a gang to get into trouble with?

Overall, Adam is a good kid. If he likes someone he'll do whatever is in his power to make them happy, even if he thinks people should settle their own problems themselves. Really, he thinks the big problem with people in general is the holy and unholy types not leaving them alone to be people. That's all.

Adam Young (2/2)

[identity profile] this-troper.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)

Reason for Joining: He thinks it's cool. Even if it's a bit of a gyp the Them don't believe him whenever he tells him about the cool stuff he does, and they can't go through the portal with him yet.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: Post-canon.

Notes: As far as Adam's powers to warp reality are concerned, I'm going to have them work only on his own world and within CO--but they will only be used in CO only for the purpose of lulz and with moderator permission. I'm interpreting how they work to be similar to how Haruhi Suzumiya's do, but he has more awareness about it. Namely, if Adam wants something to happen, it will happen, and if he believes something to exist a certain way, then that will happen, too. However, if someone takes the time to explain to him that, no, the world doesn't work that way, or he himself realizes that isn't how it's supposed to work, then he'll instantly fix things to how they are.

There's also the issue of a primal "knowledge" he gets sometimes wherein he just knows how things should go together. This will only apply to his plane and will be used sparingly as I interpret it as being a once-in-a-while desperate situation thing when the purpose he was created for and who he actually is collide with one another.

Sample Post: Hopefully, the actual gameplay in testrun will make up for the short personality section (http://community.livejournal.com/testrun_box/72538.html).

Character Name: Deimonea
Canon: Original (Dream Savior Berry)

Background:
Deimonea was born during the last creation cycle of the Dream World, as the Crystal Queen drew it out of the primordial foam, assembling it from the salvaged nightmare-remnants of a long gone feverish dreamer. It floated with the other Dream Worlders waiting for the remaking to be completed, until the Crystal Queen's labors attracted its attentions. It narrowly escaped getting woven into the Underside of the Dream World by a preoccupied Creator, but gained an unusual insight into those workings.

Deimonea ran freely causing havoc amongst the Crystal Queen's creations, until the Queen finally noticed and plucked it out to force it to design nightmarish landscapes for the Dark Side lying on the other side of the Underside. From this prison Deimonea escaped too, by tricking a look-like nightmare into performing its tasks.

Deimonea's life thereafter was a life of responsibility evasion, casual hedonism, and terrorization of everything in sight. A magical girl named Berry put an end to this, forcing Deimonea to see the larger picture of its dependence on the dreamers, the other Dream Worlders, and the Dream World itself.

Deimonea toned down its act a little. It began to pester Berry, both helping and teasing her. It ate her dreams of power and held them in its throat, turning her into an ordinary dreamer briefly as a ploy between the two of them to fool the Decayers. Afterwards, Berry complained of nibble marks on those dreams when they were returned to her. Deimonea just giggled.

Finally, the Decayers' greatest force was broken by Berry's ultimate Strawberry Dream Twister. Once the main threat had been reduced to scattered nuisances, Deimonea wandered off to resume its explorations of the Dream World. It was then that Deimonea fell out of reality and into CO.

[personal profile] phobophage 2010-04-19 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Setting Information:
The Dream World is full of dream-like geometry, odd isolated patches, and more. It has no real layout, instead being connected by whatever works for the dream. As such, travel tends to be stumbling through scenes until one finally arrives (or fails to arrive) at ones destinaition. That said, there are some underlying themes, such as everything having sides to them. On the other side of Overside is Underside and Sidewayside and Skyside. On the other side of Brightside is Darkside. Flipside's on the other side of everywhere. And so on.

Darkside, for example, tends to be populated by the terrified imaginings of dreamers about what might lie in the unknown dark. But it's only because of those dreamers that Darkside has some of the highest concentrations of Nightmares and general monsters--Darkside has many peaceful patches. The other Sides are similarly stereotyped yet varied.

Dream World is ruled by the Crystal Queen, who created the current incarnation and constantly remakes patches of it to satisfy her changing whims. She is considered a mostly benevolent Creator by the Dream Worlders, but this is the same Crystal Queen who created the horrifying Nightmares. Usually she busies herself with the process of creation, only occasionally taking time off to deal with other business. So she has her more devoted followers handle the extremely little royal business that there is in the Dream World.

There're whole categories of Dream Worlders that feed off particular dreams and emotions. For example, wet dreams are the food of some particularly sexual Dream Worlders. Nightmares, on the other hand, feed on the essences of nightmares. Those activities are considered normal and acceptable (including the unpleasantries of the Nightmares), unless they cause lasting harm to Dreamers or cause very large-scale chaos.

For those who get out of hand and cause such harm, the Crystal Queen handles some of them and leaves most to the Dream Saviors, essentially magical girls (and boys) taken from the ranks of Dream Worlders and Dreamers alike. Even the Dreamers who become Dream Saviors tend to become a bit odd, as they have to embody the workings of the Dream World into their minds to use their powers.

Those Dream Saviors tend to have powers that bend and break the Dream World in surreal ways, rearranging damaged parts into more healthy new arrangements. For example, Berry's Strawberry Dream Twister pulls and twists the local dream into spirals with strawberries everywhere. Even healing powers leave their mark.

Of late, things've been becoming more worse, with threats to the very existence of the Dream World beginning to show up--Decayers, entities slowly devouring and dissolving its very fabric. Patching the damage's become a part of the Dream Saviors' jobs. There's increasingly a rumor that it's becoming about time for the Crystal Queen to take apart the Dream World to remake both it and herself, as she has before.

Zero

[identity profile] stupidsexyzero.livejournal.com 2010-04-21 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Sorin
Character Name: Zero
Canon: Megaman Zero

Background: http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Zero

Setting Information: http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_Zero_series

Portal Location: High up in the atmosphere. Zero by the sheer luck fell into it after falling off of the space colony Ragnorak.

Personality: Zero is usually seen as a cold emotionless soldier. This extends to both in and out of battle to everyone, including his friends and allies. Despite this Zero is a very skilled and powerful warrior and keeps his cool during battle. He is incredibly determined and manages to keep fighting no matter what is thrown at him. He only sees himself as a warrior made for fighting. He doesn’t believe someone like him could change the world. Zero believes that he fights for the people that could.

Despite being so cold Zero does indeed care about people. Zero is willing to do a lot for the people he cares about, as shown with how he is able to do any mission that he is given by Ciel. Zero does show he cares about Ciel more than most which may be shown to be love for her, though he doesn’t show it at all. He also does not like it when innocent people die as he does his best to protect the Resistance soldiers when they are out on the field even going so far to promise that no more will die. He is willing to sacrifice himself to save those people as he intended to do by destroying Dr. Weil on Rangnorak, giving up his chance to escape.

Despite all the good that he has done Zero doesn’t see himself as a hero or someone fighting for justice. He only fights for others and their dreams and beliefs. Because of this he would not hesitate to kill a human that would try and harm these people. He is surprisingly humble as he knows he is just a warrior and never shows much reaction to his reputation as a legendary Reploid. Even though Zero has amnesia, he shows no real interest in regaining his memories.

Reason for Joining: With the destruction of Dr. Weil and Ragnorak, Zero sees that he is no longer needed in his world and leaves it in the hands of people like Ciel and Niege.

Position Desired: Agent

Point in Canon: After the final battle with Dr. Weil in Zero 4. Zero fell into the portal as Ragnorak fell apart.

Character Name: Rider
Canon: Fate/Stay Night

Background: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Rider_%28Fate/stay_night%29

Setting Information: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Fuyuki_City
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Holy_Grail_War

http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Mage%27s_Association
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Servant
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Church

Portal Location: Emiya Manor entrance

Personality: Rider's character alignment is listed as "Chaotic Good." For the most part, this is pretty accurate. While Rider is fundamentally a good person, she has some traits that keep her well out of the other two "Good" alignments. First of all, if Rider needs more magical energy, she will do whatever she feels is necessary in order to increase her supply. This includes forcing intercourse on men in their dreams (it's implied that she does this to Shirou; Shirou perceives it as an erotic dream with Rin), and biting people and sucking out their magical energy through the bloodstream (much like a vampire). She occasionally does the latter even when she's getting a sufficient supply of magical energy, because it's something that she enjoys doing. (In the True End to Heaven's Feel, Rin asks Rider if she's been doing this behind Sakura's back since Sakura would disapprove, and Rider's response is that Sakura would never catch her doing such a thing.) In rare cases she will use Blood Fort Andromeda, but she usually only uses it if her Master orders her to. She normally doesn't need the amount of magical energy that Blood Fort Andromeda would provide her.

Rider also has little problem with killing, though she usually doesn't. She will kill anybody she perceives a threat without any hesitation whatsoever. She will normally end it as quickly and painlessly as possible, but if angered, she will draw it out to increase her foe's suffering. Also, messing with her hair usually results in a death sentence.

Rider happens to be self-conscious about her appearance, too. She once mentions that she is insecure about her height (which, at 172 cm, is pretty tall in Japanese society). At the same time, she takes much pride in her looks. As I mentioned above, she will try to kill someone who messes with her hair, and in one particularly humorous scene, she scares Shirou out of telling Sakura how much more beautiful she is than Rider.

Now onto the "Good" part. First and foremost, Rider is extremely loyal. She will never betray someone she has developed a fondness for, especially Sakura. For a long time, despite Sakura's order to protect Shirou, Rider keeps an eye on Shirou, ready to kill him if he ever decides to kill Sakura. She also obediently follows Shinji's orders, despite wanting him dead, when he is her Master, though that's mostly out of respect of Sakura's wishes. And when Rider is convinced that Shirou will do everything within his power to save Sakura instead of killing her, Rider backs him up and protects him as she does her true Master, even stopping Dark Sakura from killing him on one occasion. She also helps Shirou recover from the Holy Grail War after it ends.

Also, though Rider is, for the most part, rather untalkative, she's also friendly at the same time. In the Fate scenario, there is a scene where Rider escorts Shirou out of the Matou household after Shirou rejects Shinji's proposal to cooperate. Despite being enemies, Rider is actually quite friendly toward Shirou if he tries to strike up a conversation with her.

Really, what Rider wants most is a life that doesn't suck. Her past life was pretty terrible, and her time as a Servant -- mainly when Shinji was her Master, as he abused and raped her -- was also terrible. She empathizes with Sakura, thus contributing to her loyalty, and at the end of the scenario, chooses to stay in the present -- which, thanks to the events that befall Sakura during the story, is easily possible.

[identity profile] hurricane-chris.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Reason for Joining: Sakura still feels bad for the events of the Fifth Holy Grail War. After Rider stumbled into Confuto Ordinatio and returned and spoke to her, Sakura asked Rider to join them as a method of atonement. Rider will maintain regular contact with her Master and leave all judgments to her, at least unless it's not prudent to do so.

Position Desired: Agent.

Point in Canon: Heaven's Feel, True End. Rider will have just returned home with Sakura, Shirou, and Rin from their trip to see the first cherry blossoms of spring.

Player Name: Kaja Rainbow
Character Name: Flonne
Canon: Disgaea 3

Background:
http://disgaea.wikia.com/wiki/Flonne (href)

Setting Information:
The other Disgaea characters've supplied most of the relevant information. If you need specific info on Celestia, I can add it.

Portal Location:
Near the Gate to Celestia

Personality:
Flonne is thoroughly obsessed with love to the point where she's gotten called a Love Freak. But this allows her to perceive love where others might miss it, resulting in surprisingly perceptive analyses of motivations related to love, such as her revealing that Raspberyl was acting with love for her rival to prompt him into growth by challenging him.

Flonne is very willing to give people the benefit of the doubt--she's not exactly blind to their flaws, but generally judges them more for their good points. She doesn't really judge people by anything but their hearts--she views demons, humans, and angels as all being essentially the same in heart, with capability for both good and evil. She's defended demons for acting with love, and condemned an angel for acting with an evil heart.

Flonne seems ditzy to many. This is largely due to her trusting nature and her enthusiasm. She easily gets carried away with her passions, falls for her demon friends' trickery, and is obsessed with Tokusatsu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokusatsu). She even has a Flonezilla costume and has been willing to get violent on suspected thieves of her collections.

Flonne's in the odd position of holding an Archangel position in Celestia despite being an fallen angel. Other angels seem to disapprove of this somehow, but becoming a fallen angel hasn't really changed Flonne significantly. She's pretty steadfast in her virtues and personality.

Reason for Joining:
Flonne'd want to help out, especially on something as important as protecting the multiverse!

Position Desired:
It's possible that Flonne's position as an Archangel might qualify her to be a higher position. That would lead to hilarious consequences such as an attempt to pass a bill to teach love classes. But otherwise, she'd likely be an Agent.

Point in Canon:
After the events of Raspberyl Mode in Disgaea 3.

Interview:

What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?:
I suddenly came here when I was going to the Celestia gate to the Netherworld. I hope the angels who saw me disappear weren't too confused.

What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?:
The Seraph's not family, but I look up to him the most. I learned everything I know about love from him.

Ain't that a riot?:
Is it really good to gamble?

What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?:
It sounds like a good cause.

What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?:
Teaching people about love.

You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.:
Ask away.

Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: I helped demons break into Celestia and beat up other angels and got punished for it, but that turned out okay in the end, I guess? I got to teach the Netherworld about love, I gained friends, and I learned a lot about demons.

Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?:
A hero of justice and love!

Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?:
Uhh... I do that already?

Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!:
I'm happy I can help.
