Application
Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.
-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:
1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.
If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.
-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.
-You may only have one application in queue at a time. If you would like to submit a second app, you must wait until your first has been processed.
Application Template:
Looked over the community? Brushed up on all 31,561,021 Confuto Ordinatio rules and regulations? Filled out all your forms in triplicate? Looks like you're ready to get that Gate Key! Just fill out the following form and submit it to the Executive Subcommittee of Other-Planar Affairs! That Gate Key should be yours in 5-7 business days!
The following is an alternate form that can be used in place of a musebox sample post. It takes the form of an application and interview as if the character were applying for a job. Respond to the questions in-character, if you or your character doesn't know what they're asking for indicate it in some way. The character can lie if doing so is in character, but indicate they are doing it by writing "[LIE]" before the answer to the question.

Re: Ouka Midarezaki (2/3)
Portal Location: Great Japanese Empire’s Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures’ HQ’s interior.
Personality: At first glance, Ouka seems to be your average person. Calm, collected, highly aware of how to be polite and act around people, etc. He’s pretty much completely stable, considering the guy lost both parents at an early age, spent the next twenty-something years with a mild addiction to work and was then forced to marry someone with a completely different personality to his or face the end of the world.
Apart from his childhood friend, a Bureau agent who went by the name of Shinigami, we never see any people who were close to Ouka before he entered the family. This comes as no surprise, as Ouka is pretty adamant about the fact that he cannot love anyone. Sure, he can like people, and protect them if he cares enough about them, but his experiences as a child probably left him with a very negative view on love, which was only strengthened by spending two decades with Shinigami, who felt the same way. It’s also mentioned several times that he is not good with relationships, which could be a product of the aforementioned problems. This is evidenced by his initial ineptitude as a father and the fact that he’s prone to forgetting anniversaries.
Ouka is also a considerably responsible individual. Not only is he able to keep up with all the paperwork he’s assigned, he also finds enough time to do pretty much everything for the family. The moment he goes sick, the Midarezaki household becomes an oversized dumpster. His responsibility does not stop him from showing a sillier side from time to time, as he occasionally starts to really get into Kyouka’s schemes.
Reason for Joining: Ouka has a family. Which is also considered his job by the Bureau. Which is pretty set on not having him go anywhere. He’s also been working for the government for a while, so it’s unlikely he would mess up the paperwork. How am I going to come up with an excuse for this one?…S-Shanghai-ing? Someone probably saw him around and thought that having an actual agent working at Confuto Ordinatio wouldn’t be so bad. The Bureau will probably start to work with the aim of returning him quickly, or else greet failure with a temporary babysitter for his family (Which will, in all likeliness, not last a week).
Position Desired: Enforcer. Ouka has been working as an agent for the Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures since he was a child, which has earned him a slight reputation for his diligence amongst the workforce. In the manga, it’s implied that he became the Head of the Operations Department at age eight, and is certain to have acquired the rank of Captain by twenty-seven. Despite having no more combat skills than you would expect from an extremely well-trained human, he shows himself to be a very capable leader and tactician during a couple of episodes.
Re: Ouka Midarezaki (3/3)
Notes: Warning, talking animals. Warning, god complexes. Warning, abandon all logic.
Sample Post:
Name: Midarezaki Ouka
Gender:Male
Age: 27
Home Plane Identification Number: 94243723
Visitor Identification Number: KKN-000001
Reason for requisitioning a Gate Key: I figure that, if I’m going to be forced to stay here, I should at least try to get some work done.
Intended use of the Gate Key: To fulfill my obligations as an agent.
Favorite Color: Yellow.
Measurements (Female applicants only): …I…I don’t… understand why you would ask that sort of--
Relevant World-Shattering Abilities: None, thankfully.
Relevant Non-World-Shattering Abilities: Extensive training in firearms, physical combat and battle strategy. Cooking. Laundry. Dishwashing.
Psychiatric Evaluation Code: 407-68427
Hobbies: Well, I read from time to time but, for the most part, I don’t have time for them.
Education Background: I was schooled by my organization since I was three years old.
Work Experience: I’ve been working with the Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures for over twenty years. I also have experience as a, well, ah, as a… a stay-at-home dad.
Favorite Animal: It’s… not very polite to ask a parent who his favorite child is. [Later, upon being asked to elaborate on his answer, Ouka merely replied that he ‘had very affectionate pets’.]
Interview:
What brings you to Confuto Ordinatio?: A combination of portals and very bad luck.
What family members do you think were most influential into making you who you are today?: My wife and children, which are pretty much all of the family I have.
So how 'bout them Tenbraks eh? Eh? Catch the game? 52-7, I told Janice in Accounting, I said "those Balthims, they're just not up to snuff this year," but no, she said "I'll bet you 20 plat they're gonna take the banner." Take that bet I did, she still insists they'll turn it around though. Ain't that a riot?: [Sigh.]
What inspired you to apply for an Agent Position?: I was told my abilities would come in handy in ‘the world I now belonged to’ before I was informed of the supposedly nearest path to an exit. It led to this room.
What skills do you think you'll bring to this agency?: Anything you would expect from an average agent, be it field missions or paperwork.
You sound like you'll be a wonderful match, but you know, rules and procedures and all that so I've got a few more questions for you.: Go ahead.
Do you have a history of meddling in affairs you shouldn't be meddling in?: …I think I’ll go with the ‘my wife made me do it’ excuse.
Do you consider yourself a hero of justice?: That title sounds like more trouble than it’s worth.
Have you ever wanted to work for something bigger than yourself?: I already work for the sake of two things more important than me: my family and my job. I really don’t think I need a third on--
Looks like I was right. You're a great fit here, glad to have you on board!: Should I be surprised you’re not listening?
