Application
Application Rules:
-Certain characters canonically have great influence over dimensional travel (such as Yuuko from xxxHolic or one of the Data Integration Thought Entity humanoid interfaces from Haruhi Suzumiya, i.e. Yuki and Ryoko) will have a greater influence in the setting than normal, or are just extremely high-powered and can potentially affect the game in major ways. Playing one often requires some special plot integration, and require a player to have established themselves by playing another character before they will be accepted.
-AU settings are generally allowed on a case-to-case basis, but no more than one of the same character can be a permanent member of Planeocracy. If the AU is significantly different and established (such as the Genderbend of Haruhi Suzumiya) then it is generally allowed, as the characters are different enough from the main source to be distinct. Apping an AU character uses the standard application procedure, but if the AU doesn't meet our requirements, we may deny them on that basis. Here are the qualifications for if your AU is acceptable:
1. Significantly different from the source material. Minor tweaks to history and/or personality don't make an AU different enough to really be worth accepting for us. For an AU to be accepted it needs to have something major different to differentiate it from the canon.
2. Internally consistent. In most cases you'll be coming up with the AU yourself, so you need to make sure it all makes sense within the setting. So, if something changes, the whole setting obviously has to change as a result, and we need to know how.
3. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if at all possible the character will look at least somewhat different from their canon counterpart. This is primarily to help differentiate if we have both.
If you are thinking of apping an AU of a character, please get a hold of all potential castmates as well as any person playing the same character (if this is applicable). This is required for your application to be accepted.
-Original characters are permitted, they use the same application form but require far more detail as far as background and setting. If they are a part of an existing canon, they cannot have any ties to actual canonical characters or visible connection to events (attributing events in-canon to the character that are otherwise unattributed may be permissible but is generally discouraged). As with canon characters, you are limited to two OCs, even if the OCs are from different universes. Planeocracy canon originals can use any of the settings posted in the setting information post that specifically say they are open, and must conform to the general concepts of the world. It is HIGHLY advised to speak to the mod team before making the character, these characters can be rejected automatically if they do not follow the general concepts of the established world.
-You may only have one application in queue at a time. If you would like to submit a second app, you must wait until your first has been processed.
Application Template:
Looked over the community? Brushed up on all 31,561,021 Confuto Ordinatio rules and regulations? Filled out all your forms in triplicate? Looks like you're ready to get that Gate Key! Just fill out the following form and submit it to the Executive Subcommittee of Other-Planar Affairs! That Gate Key should be yours in 5-7 business days!
The following is an alternate form that can be used in place of a musebox sample post. It takes the form of an application and interview as if the character were applying for a job. Respond to the questions in-character, if you or your character doesn't know what they're asking for indicate it in some way. The character can lie if doing so is in character, but indicate they are doing it by writing "[LIE]" before the answer to the question.

Chie Satonaka [Persona 4] - RESERVED - 1/2
Character Name: Chie Satonaka
Canon: Persona 4
Background: Persona 4 at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_Persona_4#Plot) and Megami Tensei Wiki (http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Persona_4); Chie at Megami Tensei Wiki (http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Chie_Satonaka).
Setting Information: See above? There’s also some P4 canonmates already running around, I believe.
Portal Location: The door to Chinese Diner Aiya.
Personality: Chie is extremely friendly, outgoing, and energetic; she’s shown to make friends quickly - in fact, it’s Chie, not Yosuke Hanamura, who becomes (the Protagonist) Souji Seta’s first friend in his new town. She’s pretty cheerful, for the most part - definitely ranking as more of an optimist than a pessimist - but she does have something of a short emotional fuse. Chie’s quick to anger, quick to cry, quick to panic, but also fairly quick to get over it; she’s not the type to hold grudges or throw herself into long, drawn-out fits of rage or hysterics. She does, however, have a bit of a stubborn streak.
One might say Chie fairly accurately embodies her own motto of “Don’t think, feel.” She’s not dumb, but she doesn’t always take the time to think things through rationally, especially when it comes to her friends. (This is in direct contrast with Souji, who seems, for the most part, fairly level-headed - perhaps the most level-headed person in all of Inaba.) For example, when on the mission to rescue Yukiko Amagi, Chie takes off on her own, heading into the fog basically unarmed. She’s not overly reckless, necessarily, she just allowed her focus on one thing - saving her friend - to take precedence over things like her own safety. It’s not unheard-of for Chie to act in a self-sacrificing manner, either. During the events toward the end of her Social Link with the Protagonist, she steps in to stop a group of bullies from harassing another child in the shopping district, and offers herself as a willing target for their physical violence instead - a pretty gutsy move. In battle, she’s even known to sometimes knock Souji out of the way of a particularly critical blow and take the damage herself.
Chie despises bullies, and seems to have a very strong sense of justice; she’s a walking example of Lawful Good (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LawfulGood). She genuinely wants to protect people, especially those who are younger, weaker, and oppressed, and she’s fiercely protective of her friends. By the end of the game, this intense desire to protect people leads to Chie choosing to pursue a career as a police officer after high school, under the direction of Detective Dojima, Souji’s uncle.
Chie is also an extreme martial arts enthusiast, to the point where at the beginning of the game, when Yosuke returns a borrowed martial arts film DVD broken, Chie chases him down and gives him a very critical kick to a very sensitive area over it. She spends much of her free time training, and even uses martial arts tactics in battle. One of her other great loves is meat - steak in particular - but she is a terrible, terrible cook. Yosuke dubbed her cooking “Mystery Food X” for a reason.
Chie is able to summon something called a Persona, which is basically a manifestation of various facets of her psyche. Chie’s social link with the Protagonist (Souji Seta) has been maxed (friendship route); her initial Persona, Tomoe Gozen of the Chariot Arcanum (http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Tomoe_Gozen), has evolved into Suzuka Gongen (http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Suzuka_Gongen). Suzuka Gongen casts higher physical attack spells than Tomoe, along with the same lower-level ice spells; blocks ice attacks entirely; and unlike Tomoe, is not especially weak to fire attacks (or any other types of attacks, for that matter).
Chie Satonaka [Persona 4] - RESERVED - 2/2
Persona and kung-fu training aside, Chie is still merely mortal - able to be injured or killed, susceptible to diseases, the whole bit. She is also still an average teenaged girl, with the usual laundry list of insecurities that go along with that age.
Arguably, one of Chie’s biggest fears is that of failure. She’s tough, and strong-willed, and definitely a fighter, and she seems to have never suffered any real, crushing defeats in her life, but even so, her Shadow makes light of this insecurity by taunting Chie during their confrontation - “I can’t do anything on my own, much less as a girl.” Failure - especially failure to protect people, and even more significantly, her friends - would amount to a fundamental weakness for Chie. Since her self-made mission in life is basically to protect people, inability to do so would be devastating to her very essence as a person.
She’s also terrified of bugs, particularly grasshoppers.
Reason for Joining: Protecting people is Chie’s raison d'être - as noted above, she’s decided to pursue a career in law enforcement after high school. She would see a situation such as this as an opportunity to not only help out in that aspect, much like she did in solving the serial murders in Inaba, but also acquire valuable experience in a similar line of work (as well as see some interesting new places - remember, she’s lived in a small rural town her entire life). Also, since the murder mystery’s been wrapped up, there’s nothing terribly exciting going on in Inaba ...
Position Desired: Just an Agent is fine!
Point in Canon: She’ll be post-True Ending of the game by a couple weeks (mid-March 2012).
Notes: WARNING - Armed Legs. WARNING - Mystery Food X. WARNING - Trial of the Dragon.
Sample Post: It’s OK to link to previous game examples, right? ._.
