Details: The Nightmares are multidimensional aliens native to the Dreamworld of Bliss Stage - though not to that physical world. They have taken human form to invade, striking first at the adult population with The Bliss (for our purposes, an area-effect weapon that can be intercepted or protected against and/or a condition that can be cured), which causes a coma when someone 18 years or older next falls asleep. They can take phsyical form in the real world using a semi-Dream, semi-physical machine.
In SRW world, they go for a remote base on Ganymede, and can be stopped with sufficient firepower provided by the ubiquitous teenage mecha pilots native to the region. In the preindustrial world, though, they'd need... help. And ANIMa combat, which is much riskier - imagine needing to make a mecha out of Personae and that battle damage can Reverse the Arcana of those Personae and you've got a good idea.
