Player Name: Eric Character Name: Ionae Canon: The Spirit Engine 2
Background: Ionae isn't EXACTLY a demon, and she isn't TECHNICALLY from hell, but the difference is marginal. She is a political exile from "The Counterplanes", and has been forced into a human body (her true body is really quite horrific.) with wings that are entirely useless. She has spent most of her time as a human avoiding people, which is probably just as well as she's kind of a bitch. The game she comes from is about her getting caught up entirely against her will in a giant world threatening crisis, during which she learns what it means to be human and turns her back on her origins.
Classic stuff, really. Here's the wiki entry, for what it's worth. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spirit_Engine)
Setting Information: Medea (That's right, the world has a name! You don't have to add another Earth!) is a fairly Earthlike world at first glance. However aside from humans, there are no terrestrial species. The main nation anyone from Planeocracy will be seeing is Lereftia, since that's where the portal is, but the other main world power is Yaegara, which is at war with Lereftia. While Humans are the most common sentient species, they are not the only one, nor are they really dominant. There are, in fact, two others. The Cloud Children are almost entirely enigmatic, and are rarely seen close up. They spend most of their time hidden in cloudbanks, but are very dangerous, and generally avoided at all costs. The Rakari are the overlords of humanity. They have technology we could only dream of and incredible psychic powers that let them rewrite a human's mind as easily as a human might erase a chalk board and put something new on it. So it's a good thing that they are basically benevolent. The Rakari fear humanity's potential, and while they generally do their best to look after us, they also stifle most scientific progress to stop us from growing more powerful than is safe. They are not without reason, as in the distant past, Humanity built a device called the World Eye which allowed one man to kill the vast majority of the Rakari and almost destroy the world before someone sabotaged the machine.
Technology would appear to be late 19th century, with zepplins and airships being fairly new technology. Rifles and artillery cannons seem to be the most advanced weapons availible, swords and such are still in use but are becoming less popular, electric lights are fairly common, but not not used everywhere, cars seems to not exist.
I went ahead and filly out a world form. You can do what you want with it.
Medea The Spirit Engine 2 Tag: [World: Medea (The Spirit Engine)]
Ability Changes: All powers are represented as magic, but within that framework, you don't have a lot of restrictions Ability Limitations: Fairly Severe. A very powerful magic user could maybe kill a few people, MAYBE knock down a building, but not much more than that. Form Restrictions: Humans are the dominant species, but others seem to be not unheard of. Social Restrictions: Humans in this world are ruled by the Rakari, a race of bizarre aliens who seem to have our best interests at heart, and are usually accepted by the humans. Warnings: Alien overlords, ancient technology, mimics. Additional Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spirit_Engine
