Chapter 10: Prisoner Release -On the way back to the Crimean coast, the Greil Mercenaries pass a castle where prisoners are being held. They decide to break in and release the prisoners to bolster their numbers. -A thief named Volke appears looking for Greil, claiming to have a report. Upon hearing that Greil was slain, he tells Ike he can have the report for 50,000 gold. In the meantime, the Greil Mercenaries take up his services as a thief. -In the prison, the Greil Mercenaries release the knight Kieran, and the militiamen Brom and Nephenee, as well as a purported pilgrim named Sephiran. Kieran, Brom, and Nephenee are incorporated into the group.
Chapter 11: Blood Runs Red -The Greil Mercenaries reach Toha, and Ranulf meets with his contact, a dragon laguz named Nasir, to get a ship. -Ranulf is discovered to be a laguz, and is set upon by a mob of villagers. When Ike tries to intervene, a villager alerts the Daein troops at the entrance to town. Daein seals off the town and sets up its troops, with the help of a group of local vigilantes. The Black Knight shows up, but Ike maintains a grasp on his desire for revenge. -Either Lethe or Mordecai recruits a vigilante by the name of Zihark. -The Greil Mercenaries reach the dock, and Nasir's ship sets sail.
Chapter 12: A Strange Land -Ike and Nasir find a stowaway named Sothe. Ike recruits him. -The ship is pursued by some Kilvas corsairs onto a reef, where it runs aground. The Greil Mercenaries are forced to fight the pirates on the deck. -A Daein soldier named Jill, who had been following them since they left Toha, decided to assist in driving off the pirates. -After the pirates had been driven off, Ike went ashore to get help. He was confronted by Goldoan soldiers, who ordered him to get back on his ship, but then the Goldoan prince, Kurthnaga, stepped in. He ordered the soldiers to push the ship off the reef, and offered to restock their supplies.
Chapter 13: A Guiding Wind -Nasir's ship comes across two ships doing battle. One is a Begnion ship, the other carries no flag but the sailors are too organized to be pirates. They decide to intervene on behalf of the Begnion vessel. -A Begnion noble named Astrid offers her aid, and brings with her her hired bodyguard and former member of the Greil Mercenaries, Gatrie. -The combined forces of the Greil Mercenaries and the Begnion soldiers succeed in driving off the alleged pirates (actually Daein soldiers out to capture Elincia). In the process, they learn that the ship has as its primary passenger the apostle -- but she's missing. -Ike finds an injured child and tries to help her, only for her to get indignant and declare that she's the apostle Sanaki. This claim turns out to be true. -The Greil Mercenaries are guided to port in Begnion's capital, Sienne, two months after leaving port at Toha.
Chapter 14: Training -Elincia receives an audience before Sanaki and the Senate to plead her case. Sanaki declares that she has no proof of her claims, leading to a heartfelt testimony from Ike, then dismisses Ike's testimony since he's a commoner and informs them that Sephiran, really the Prime Minister of Begnion, vouched for her identity. She was playing a game with Elincia for her own amusement, which led to Ike yelling at her and the Senate and nearly losing his head for doing so. -After the meeting, Ike apologizes to Elincia for the outburst, but Elincia thanks him for sticking up for her.
